In May she shot back at critics with a delightful, aerobics-themed music video for “Map Inside”.

And now Canadian-Swiss diva Rykka is serving her original sound and look again with the release of her music video for “Bad Boy”.

Quirky, electric and filled with avant-garde fashion moments, this video raises the temperature and reminds us all that Rykka is most definitely the last of her kind.

RYKKA — “BAD BOY”

Boasting sleek production, “Bad Boy” is a mature and comfortable follow-up single to “Map Inside”. The electronic-pop combo stuns and Rykka’s vocals and delivery are on point. The hook isn’t as catchy as her Eurovision entry, but perhaps it isn’t meant to be. As ever Rykka creates mood and atmosphere — an art as worthy as much praise as drilling an ear worm into our heads.

The song recounts her experience falling for Mr Wrong before setting herself free. As she says: “I made a mistake, I crashed like a wave…I make my escape, I’m part of the brave…” Get it, gurl.

Rykka’s latest effort really shines visually. She gives sassy face from the first second of the music video to the last as she dances in the forest, sings to the sky and fondles fronds while laying on vines. She does all of that while rocking some seriously avant garde outfits — from black sports bras and shag jackets to white mesh couture and Yoko Ono-esque glasses.

This is how you slay all your camera angles.

The consistently strong visuals of her music videos make us question why exactly she was searching for the bathroom on-stage at Eurovision 2016.

Whatever the reason, Miss Rykka has had her release and the new-found freedom is joyous and refreshing. She is here to stay!

Are you into Rykka’s new single? And what do you think of the music video? Let us know below!

Can’t agree with statement that her esc song was weaker or outdated but for me her mhm… ‘dance’ didn’t fit at all and distracted from the very song. Still wish her to rise a lot, she’s got nice music case…

Wow, amazing song and video. If only she had brought something like this or “Movies” to Stockholm.
