It’s becoming a regular occurrence: Dolly Style have announced that Polly (Marielle Myhrberg) has left the bubblegum pop trio. Marielle is the second singer to play the purple-haired Polly, with the original Polly (Emma Pucek) having left the group in April last year.

Polly broke the news to fans on the Dolly Style Facebook page. She explained that while the group was growing more and more each day, she did not feel she had the time to fully commit to Dolly Style. It’s probably for the best — no one wants to be in a position where doubt is cast on their commitment to Dolly Style

She also said that a new Polly would soon be joining Holly and Molly, making the third Polly to enter the world of unicorns and ice cream.

Dolly Style is becoming known for their frequent line-up changes. While they haven’t done a Sugababes and completely replaced their original line-up, the revolving door at Dolly HQ has seen a lot of action in recent months.

The trio made their debut at Melodifestivalen 2015, with the infectious “Hello Hi”. Soon after that, the original Polly (Emma Pucek) left to pursue other music projects. She was replaced with the second Polly, Marielle Myhrberg.

Then in November 2015, Molly (Carolina Magnell) left for personal reasons, and was replaced with the second Molly, Mikaela Samuelsson. Along with the original Holly (Alexandra Salomonsson), the new line-up appeared at Melodifestivalen 2016 with their song “Rollercoaster”.

The newly departed Polly can be seen in the recently released music video for “Unicorns & Ice Cream”. It stands as a memento of Polly 2’s Dolly Style life, the last adventure before she hung up her lavender wig for good.

Sure, people might think she wasn’t the best singer, but she was peppy and enthusiastic. Isn’t that the purpose of this group, to make people happy? She came in and left with a job well done.

In April 2015 it was announced that Emma Pucek, the first “Polly” had left the group, and that she had been replaced with another person who would take on the “Polly” persona. On August h, Marielle announced that she will be leaving Dolly Style and that the new Polly will be announced soon.

She was the reason Dolly Style didn’t reach the final of Melodifestivalen this year.

Tbh I don’t think Dolly Style would be automatically dead if they replace their last original member. This group isn’t anything like Sugababes or Serebro. They new members would be still just be playing a part, not representing themselves. I don’t see any difference if the curent Holly leaves, and it wouldn’t be obvious to most people.

I liked them at the time of Hello Hi & Cherry Gum. I don’t like they are changing members so often. :/

If they keep it up, they’ll become the female Menudo.

I always have one rule when following groups with changing personnel: The sooner the last original member leaves, for better or worse, the group is dead. In my viewpoint, the very essence that made a group unique is completely gone when its last original member leaves, is fired, retires or dies.

In some cases, if you lose the LEAD vocalist, the group dies. Few groups buck the trend with its replacement lead.
