Eurovision 2016 has come and gone, but the songs are firmly entrenched in our minds — and, in many instances, on our iPhones. So much so that on June 14 we decided to ask our dear readers which Eurovision 2016 songs they are still listening to.
After counting 20,833 votes, we can now reveal that Poland’s Michal Szpak has won the day with his throwback ballad “Color Of Your Life”.
The avant-garde Polish star, known for his long hair and for having the voice of an angel, secured 1,886 votes, or around 9% of all those cast. His song featured one of the most memorable hooks of Eurovision 2016 — whoa-oh, oh, ohhhhh — so we aren’t terribly surprised it’s still looping across Europe.
The Sony Music singer, like all of the acts in our Top 7, scored well with televoters at Eurovision 2016.
He came third with the public in the grand final, issuing a major slap-in-the-face to the jury who ranked him next-to-last. Cue the ultimate revenge GIF:
Bulgaria’s Poli Genova, who came fifth with the public, finished second with our readers, suggesting her song has only improved in the minds of listeners as time has gone by.
She earned an impressive 1,342 votes, or around 6% of all those cast.
Armenia, France, Australia, Russia and Ukraine round out our Top 7.
Georgia, FYR Macedonia, Slovenia, Greece, Bosnia & Herzegovina, San Marino, Ireland, Romania, Albania and Montenegro are the songs are readers are playing the least.
Of these only Georgia, who came 34th in our poll, managed to make the grand final. Romania, which finished 41st in our poll, was kicked out of Eurovision prior to the contest.

Past winners
Michal joins an impressive list of acts who have won this poll in past years.
Sweden’s Måns Zelmerlöw won with “Heroes” last year, Israel’s Mei Finegold won with “Same Heart” in 2014, Romania’s Cezar won with “It’s My Life” in 2013, Ireland’s Jedward won with “Waterline” in 2012, Sweden’s Eric Saade won with “Popular” in 2011, and Turkey’s maNga won with “We Could Be the Same” in 2010.
Eurovision this year was not fear. Jury had not listening .
Michal Szpak -his voice and song a world class, very beautiful, super!!!!
I’m glad the juries existed to balance the tremendous discrepancy between the televotes and the jury votes. Color of your life is such a boring song with good vocals and that’s it.
Well…everyone has it’s own music taste and it is heard to discuss about that. A number of voters for this particular song means something though. Maybe it is old school and lyrically is quite simple…but maybe this is what people like and enjoy – talent and voice above all…not what is behind. Because what is behind is created by a group of people, not by artist itself. Perhaps…this is what entertainment is about.
Michal’s voice is amazing and he can sing the song live and it sound the same as his recorded version. Now how many of this entrants can do that?
Also here is big Russian Fan Club of Micha? Szpak:

His performance at the Eurovision Song Contest was really exciting. Like others of his performances and songs! Thank you Poland for a such a talent!
This result is not surprising 🙂 Michal has a lot of fans all around the world – just take a look:

Michal’s live performances are amazing. His song is very beautiful. Many Russian bought CD of Michal Shpak in Poland, because it is hard to buy them at Russia… CD is too much perfect!!! Hi from Ukraine to all. I also love Color Of Your Life and Michal Szpak. I join the congratulations to Poland representative 🙂
Another day, another poll rigged by the Polish fans. I love Color of Your Life tho.
The Polish song was absolutely dreadful, and the juries placed it where it rightly belonged.
Michal Szpak perfect vocals in the new version!

What colour is your life – seriously?! I don’t understand that this song can be so popular – and not to mention all the televotes it received!! Well good for him I guess ! 🙂 btw still listening to Israel, Russia and Ireland here
Doesn’t surprise me.
By the time I finished listening to it, it sure as hell felt like three months had passed.
Tbh I don’t listen to any of these songs with regularity any more. However, eurovision has inspired me to look into other works from these artists. Currently I have found other songs by Sergey and Jamala, for example, that I enjoy and listen to all the time.
And the Polish Diaspora strikes again…
Poland Micha? SZPAK
Polish song this year touched my soul. I vote for it. still listen to Bulgaria and Cyprus. Hi from Belarus.
Wow I find that Poland boring one of my least favourites of the year its dreary and miserable to me, I am still listening to UK, Bulgaria, Australia, Spain and Croatia which I still think should have been top ten at least
Not only Poles voted for Michal! You are not right. I’m from Russia. Of all the participants in the Eurovision this year, I liked only Michal and his delightful song.
Of course, it’s always the Polish diaspora voting, almost a Polish conspiracy, when a Pole wins 😉 Somehow this did not happen in the previous years. I wonder why? Were there fewer Polish people in the world then? OR, MAYBE, it is THIS song, and THIS performer, who has managed to enchant people this year? Yes, I am Polish, an no, I didn’t like any other Polish entries from previous years as much as I like Micha?’s. He’s amazing live, and his concerts earn him new fans. And to be honest, I voted for Micha?, as well as for other… Read more »
I’m still listening to France more than Australia and Switzerland. Poland’s song is nothing but an outdated-sounding power ballad and I don’t get how it got third place in the televote (likely a massive Polish diaspora vote) when there are stronger songs this year
This Song and Michal vocals are absolutly AMAZING. The lyrics, the voice and emotion! Wow! Without a doubt this boy some inexplicable power, strength, truth, power, magic, something that is addictive, which gives hope, strength, desire to live. For me Michal is the same league as: Freddie Mercury, Steven Tyler, Elvis Presley, Joey Tempest.
This is the only Eurovision song I’m still listening to. And no, I’m not Polish.
I ‘m still amazed by his style/voice/performance.
Michal is a really good artist and as a French girl, I’m sad I didn’t discover him before.
he’s precious as an artist.
I loved his song, his performance and his personality. A world class act! Color of Your Life was one of the best this year. Michal Szpak is awesome. Would love to see him live in a concert one day. 🙂
You? Who is this “You”? Not me certaintly …
I’m not polish, I even don’t have polish roots, but Poland is my anytime favorite at Eurovision. Along with Hungary
@loo
I’m pretty sure bulgaria became more popular than Australia after the contest.
I have no doubt the Polish took over the poll, as always. Of course there were some no Polish people voting for it, but…
There will always be ppl who dont support the winner, it is normal. But come on, dont be so stupid to think ot is only because Polish fans, it is just impossible! If you dont believe just look at the audience and how they react for Michal in Amsterdam…
I love song of Michal. I am not Pole. I am from Asya. He is a leader. He will become very famous in the future. I believe in it. He has a huge talent. Check with the many other fine songs. He’s gorgeous singing rock.
I think I am the only one who hated the Polish song this year…
I’m from Russia. And I don’t have any Polish blood. But I listen to Michal songs constantly. And I have a lot of friends from different countries , who love his songs
I’m not Pole, I am Russian Ukrainian. And I voted for Micha? Szpak!
Sorry, Micha?, you’re sweet and all, but that song is just…
Dami Im is the only track I personally still listen to <3
When I have to commute on a rainy day, Malta’s “Walk on Water” is my go-to song.
Lol… Poles do well in polls!!!
I listen to Bulgaria, Armenia, Ukraine, Austria, Norway, Iceland, France and Denmark (random), Australia, Czech Republic and Croatia.
Plenty of good songs this year. Keep it up Eurovision, cos that’s why we love you uuuhuuu yes we love you aaa 🙂
My still listened: Armenia, Ukraine, Latvia, Belgium, Iceland, Croatia, Norway, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Slovenia:) I also like: Sweden, Bulgaria, Poland, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Malta, Italy, Austria and Czech Republic.
well a lot of polish are still listening to this one as you can see from this poll. they sure all really patriotics.
I am still listening to many songs but it mainly depends on my mood.
When I want something catchy and uplifting I listen to the songs of Moldova, Finland, Belgium and Bulgaria.
I don’t know why but when I am sad I usually listen to “Color Of Your Life”, it’s such an emotional song.
In some special cases, I listen to different songs, for example Armenia, Georgia, Ukraine, Iceland or Norway.
And of course I am still listening to the masterpiece of the year, “Lighthouse” <3<3<3
I don’t think I have even listened to that song 2 whole times. It was my 43rd, but the perfromance at Eurovision made it a little better.
Hahaha great joke wiwibloggs!!! Lol so when will we know the real results?
Color of Your Life is such a hideous song!! It’s my 41/42 this year! I just cannot get my head around how it came third in the televote! I just can’t understand it. Granted, it had good staging but the song is awful and Micha?’s delivery of it was less than satisfying. Sorry Poland, I normally love you but 2016 was one year I simply did not.
Bulgaria, Spain, Latvia, Austria, Belgium, Czech, Croatia, Azerbaijan, Norway, Lithuania, Cyprus, Moldova, Finland and Slovenia are the ones in my playlist that I’m always playing #bangers 🙂
All these polish trolls… Get a life. We all know that the only two songs that became hits after the contest is Sweden and Australia.
Really lol? Id say the realistic winners are Amir & Frans.
