Junior Eurovision 2016 is really starting to take shape with Poland finally confirming its long-awaited return to the contest (Earlier reports were speculation, rather than official confirmation). After three successful qualifications since their return to the adult show in 2014, Polish broadcaster TVP has opened submissions for their comeback to Junior Eurovision. However, their return coincides with the unfortunate news that Montenegro will be pulling out of the competition.
Poland returns to Junior Eurovision
TVP updated its Eurovision Facebook page earlier today with a call for submissions. Acts will have until the 20th of September to send in their entries. TVP will stage a national selection on October 15.

Poland’s past history at Junior Eurovision isn’t great reading.
They entered the first two contests and finished last both times — and with exactly three points for each effort. Katarzyna Zurawik performed “Cos mnie nosi” in 2003, while the group KWADro performed “Lap Zycie” in 2004.
The good news for whoever represents Poland this year is that, with the automatic 12 points now put in place, they’ll achieve a record points total for their country!
Of course, TVP will no doubt be hoping for more than that on their return in Malta.
Montenegro withdraws
Recently reports have circulated that Montenegro would be withdrawing from this year’s JESC. Today wiwibloggs has confirmed the news with the Montenegrin delegation.
This brings to an end two years of participation at Junior Eurovision for Montenegro. In that time, the country has failed to make it out of the bottom half of the scoreboard, perhaps signalling why they’re not returning.
In 2014, Masa & Lejla charmed us with “Budi dijete na jedan dan”, while Jana Mirkovic gave us “Oluja” in 2015.
Are you excited to see Poland back at Junior Eurovision and “embracing” the contest again? Which was your favourite Montenegrin JESC entry? Let us know in the comments section!
Marc, I think it has to do with the success of Michal Szpak. 3rd in televoiting. They did get more televote points than Australia
I want to know why Poland has this sudden interest for Eurovision hahah.
They clearly want to win and I think it won’t be very hard for them to get it.
Oh, my “little monster” has changed! 😮
I’m excited Poland finally returns! 😀
Montenegro… well, I don’t really mind them withdrawing but I hope other countries won’t do the same…
And by the way, I don’t really like Montenegro’s 2014 entry. About 2015, well, I like the studio version but live it’s so flat…
why does it matter im still not recovered from josh getting last in 2010
I don’t care, I just want the rules to be changed back

THE. SHADE. OF. IT. ALLLLLL
What?! No Slovenia! No Croatia! No Montenegro! And what about SERBIA?! Do you think they will participate? They don’t tell us anything, just like GERMANY, SWEDEN, FRANCE, SPAIN!!! Come on!
As a French fan of ESC, I sent an email at France Televisions, the broadcaster of ESC and JESC, and they said that “the decision of a French return at JESC has not been decided yet. The decision will be announced during the year 2016”
So I hope a return of my country at JESC 2016 !
Who knows? Montenegro might return next year! 🙂
And Sweden.
Possible countries:
-Australia
-Estonia
-France
-Germany
-Hungary
-Israel
-Lithuania
-Serbia
-Spain
France, Germany and Estonia better confirm participation. Also Serbia and Sweden. Where the hell are Sweden?? They love all things Eurovision. You know the contest is in decline when even Sweden have jumped ship.
As for Montenegro leaving, well, I’m not surprised. The new rule changes affects small nations like them and San Marino. So much for 18 nations participating, eh Maltese TV?
Im guessing the lack of countries may or may not be due to the change up in leadership of the JESC
I’m indifferent about Montenegro in JESC but interested in returning countries like Poland.
Look at what it did for Albania! Burkina Faso Disney princess realness!!!
