Finnish singer Saara Aalto impressed viewers around Britain with an emotional performance of Sia’s “Chandelier” at her X Factor UK audition on the weekend. Among her new fans was Blue singer Duncan James, whose admiration for Saara inspired her to sing Blue’s 2011 Eurovision entry “I Can” for him.
It started with a tweet from the Blue singer and new Hollyoaks cast member, Duncan James. He’d been catching up with The X Factor and was moved by Saara’s audition. This caught the attention of Saara, who was tickled that one of her teen pop idols had supported her.

Duncan replied, which inspired Saara to respond with a video message. In the video, while snuggling up with her girlfriend, Saara revealed that both of them loved the Eurovision Song Contest. She then treated Duncan to a flawless performance of the refrain of Blue’s 2011 Eurovision entry “I Can”.

We love to see this kind of support! And it’s got us thinking — regardless of how Saara’s UK X Factor journey progresses, could she follow in Duncan’s footsteps and represent the UK at Eurovision?
