Back in the spring, we just had to admit that if love was a crime we wanted to be locked up with Poli Genova and have the guard throw away the key.

With her Eurovision 2016 song she had us on first listen and we weren’t at all surprised when she stomped down the Eurovision stage in Stockholm, giving Bulgaria its best finish EVER. Say it with me now: This is how you slay!

La Valletta is calling and we have an inner desire to #embrace the Bulgarian goddess in Malta for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016. So indulge us while we share five reasons why Poli is the perfect interval act for this year’s Junior extravaganza.

Let us dream people. Let. Us. Dream.

1. SHE HOSTED JUNIOR EUROVISION 2015 AND SMASHED IT

https://youtu.be/BVf8lreNbks

She spent much of the show looking for that dress, playing the role of diva to perfection. As she smashed flowers and threw a tantrum we LOL’d, and when she finally performed her song she had us giggling and moving. Junior Eurovision was live on television and she helped us life as she shared the spotlight with the kids. Poli didn’t need a co-host — she’s got enough charisma to fill the entire stage. She conducted the show brilliantly and still managed to deliver an awesome performance. She runs the show, in case you don’t know. Hosting per-fec-tion!

2. SHE WAS PART OF BULGARIAN CHILDREN’S GROUP “BON BON”

Take us back to the 00’s huntie! Even as a teenager, Poli Genova worked every single frame of her music videos for Bon Bon — an incredibly popular Bulgarian children’s group. Whether she was immersed in water or rocking the night club, she brought that Bulgarian teenage girl with braces realness that we could all relate to. The duckling definitely became…a swan!

3. SHE SLAYED AT EUROVISION…TWICE

Is there anything left to say? From rock chick to pop goddess, Poli presented herself in two distinct guises at Eurovision. She conquered the hearts of eurofans both times, even if the results suggest otherwise. If you weren’t feeling your heart beat back in 2011, we’re pretty sure you were all about coming together in 2016. “If Love was a Crime” is still our jam!

4. SHE WON BEST RETURNING ARTIST FOR EUROVISION 2016

As you all know, wiwibloggs is all about running polls and predictions with attitude, and Poli Genova is all about winning those polls. In the past Eurovision season she killed her competition and was your favourite returning artist of Eurovision 2016, beating names such as Ira Losco and Greta Salóme — with 28% of the votes.

5. SHE’S THE BEST AT COMMENTING ON EUROVISION 2016

Remember that time Poli Genova sat down with our very own William Lee Adams and Deban Aderemi commenting on Eurovision 2016? Yes, that happened. It was real and it was in London. She came to us and dished about her fellow Top 5 finishers, proving she’s kind and lovely and insightful. She’s yet to become a full time wiwiblogger, but has already gotten down with our boys singing her Eurovision hit “If Love Was a Crime”.

Would you like to see Poli Genova at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 as an interval act or do you simply want her to return next year to the grown-ups stage? Tell us below!

@jamaraqueer she will be releasing a new single this december so I’m guessing she can easily give her child to stay with the father/parents etc for the period of jesc

I think they should focus on a Maltese artist, but Poli can be part of the interval performance I guess? Like, a collab between Ira and Poli would snatch some weaves.

Well, I do like Poli but the contest is held in Malta, so I think a Maltese artist should be the interval act

If the answer isn’t always Poli, then you got the question wrong.

Ha-ha, this was funny and proves that a good laugh can be written on any subject/idea by adding a good performer and some attitude:-)
