In recent months ESC stars have covered songs from international pop artists from British diva Adele to American singer LP. And Minus One are following the trend with their cover of Ed Sheeran’s “Photograph”.

Since taking Cyprus back to the final at Eurovision in 2016, the Cypriot rock band have been busy releasing the singles “Potato Song” and “Save Me”.

But with their alternative cover of “Photograph” they prove they can be original even when working with existing (and well-established) material.

Those of you who attended the contest in Sweden this year will enjoy a whiff of nostalgia with the video.

It splices together footage of their performances from Eurovision 2016 in Stockholm — including a concert they gave at the Hard Rock Cafe, and performances from Eurovision Village and EuroClub.

There are also shots of them traveling to Globen Arena, and hanging out backstage inside the arena (where we were lucky enough to bump into them from time to time).

Thanks to @minusoneband for warming up the team from @wiwibloggs

The rock revamp moves away from Ed’s folksy sound, delivering something with plenty of rock swagger and soul.

Francois’ flawless vocals are beyond dreamy here. The grease in his voice and in the backing vocals is spine-tingling.

It’s another great track from the Cypriot band — an original and likeable arrangement. Well done, guys!
