It’s one of the most anticipated national final line-up reveals of the season. Swedish broadcaster SVT has now confirmed that the 28 acts for Melodifestivalen 2017 will be revealed at a special presentation on Wednesday 30 November.
Following September’s announcement of the Melfest 2016 hosts, SVT are now ready to unveil the acts who’ll be competing to represent their country in Kyiv in May. As is Melfest tradition, we’ll know the artists and their song titles but we won’t hear the tunes in question until Melodifestivalen starts in February.
Broadcaster SVT is again offering locals the opportunity to be in the audience during the presentation. Interested fans can register their interest here. The rest of us will be able to watch the live stream of the event on the official Melfest website.
Melodifestivalen 2017 will be hosted by comedian Clara Henry, singer David Lindgren and country music legend Hasse Andersson.
Who will be competing at Melodifestivalen 2017?
Rumours have been flying about potential acts for the 2017 line-up.
Les Gordons – the one act we know will definitely be at Melfest are indie-pop group Les Gordons. The Svensktoppen Nästa finalists won the jury selection giving them a guaranteed Melfest entry.
The Fooo Conspiracy, Lisa Ajax, Lisa Lindstöm, Ida LaFontaine – the first names to be rumoured back in October were boy band The Fooo Conspiracy, Melfest 2016 finalist Lisa Ajax, Melfest 2014 entrant Elisa Lindstrom, and upcoming singer Ida LaFontaine.
Ace Wilder, Mariette, Wiktoria, John Lundvik, Axel Schylström, Alice Svensson, Tommy Körberg with Dead by April – next was a huge list of named, featuring previous Melfest stars Ace Wilder, Mariette and Wiktoria, songwriter John Lundvik, Idol contestants Axel Schylström and Alice Svensson, and the legendary Tommy Körberg with metal band Dead by April.
Jon Henrik Fjällgren, De Vet Du – and most recently it was speculated that 2015 runner-up John Henrik Fjällgren and comedy group De Vet Du would also be making an appearance.
That’s 15 acts out of 28 total, but if previous years have been anything to go by, the rumours don’t always turn out to be true.

Who would you like to see compete at Melfest 2017? Can Sweden get their seven Eurovision win? Share your thoughts below!
Mariette is, for me, my favorite act in the list. But I would love see in melodifestivalen Timoteij, Yohio and/or Alcazar.
My guess is that Jon Henrik, Ace and Mariette will be the 3 highest contenders on the bookies’ boards, and probably in that order.
Expectations will be high for Jon Henrik to bring a really good jojk to the stage. I want to hear more Sami lyrics in his next song.
Really hoping for Jon Henrik! He brings something magical to the contest! 🙂
I hope the two best runners-up Ace and Mariette will participate and win. They really deserve it!
Ace should have won in 2014 instead of this boring Sanna Nielsen and Mariette was great but that was impossible for her to win face to Mans.
yessss
yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss hype
Hopefully Erik Rapp will compete.
