The secret is out. After keeping a behind-closed-doors approach to their Eurovision selection so far, Switzerland’s SRF revealed all on December 5. They revealed the six acts that have made it through to ESC 2017 Entscheidungsshow, the live national final that will determine who will represent Switzerland in Kyiv.
With six female vocalists, who will be the last woman standing? We want to know exactly what you think at this stage though, ahead of the final on 5 February. Scroll down and you’ll be able to judge each act from their performance in the Live Check round. You can then vote below in our poll as to which act you think should win the Entscheidungsshow and go on to represent Switzerland.
As always, you can vote for as many songs as you’d like, but you can only cast your votes ONE time. Be sure to click the box next to each act you want to support before pressing submit.

When are you going to do a react video to switzerlands six songs wiwibloggs?
this is how I see the overall panorama for each song: Freschta: This is a good song, many people here just overlooked it, and I think this is a truthful soulful ballad, that sadly everyone dismisses for the gay pop songs. Ginta: very europop and might get people behind it giving the fact that Austria placed higher than france with a french song, this is partly french partly english, but there’s nothing entitled to the song that screams originality. Michele: NO Nayda: again No Shana: if you are a guy who likes this then I’m afraid you are gay and… Read more »
Thank you Colin for your honest and pondered comment. There is a substantial lack of professionalisation within the swiss national broadcaster. Think that last year Rykka had a (professional and well paid) choreographer, and see what she ended up doing on stage! I always think of Roberto Bellarosa a few years ago: when he presented his “love kills” the first time live it was a complete disaster. He was out of tune for the whole song and he didn’t know how to move on stage. Then, the miracle. Learned to sing live, good staging with some dancers and good lights.… Read more »
The biggest problem with the Swiss finals in my opinion is that there is not much genre diversity. If you look at UMK 2017 (Finland), there is a lot of diversity. You can say what you want about songs, but the fact remains that there is something for slow ballad lovers, faster pop-rock lovers and novelty/joke act lovers. At least songs can better stand out between each other. Unfortunately, there is no such thing in Switzerland. All six songs are, more or less, within the mid-tempo pop genre. I would say that Apollo is probably the best one (most catchy… Read more »
The situation is interesting comparing Switzerland and Belarus. Overall, the Swiss national finals has better songs. Any of the Swiss 6 is better than majority of what Belarus has to offer. BUT, NAVI’s song is a lot better than any of the Swiss songs. So, it all comes down to what will each country pick.
None is good enough – once again. What´s happened to good old Switzerland?
As someone else mentioned – reopen submissions…
I echo a lot of what has already been said. In my opinion Timebelle’s “Apollo” is the best song out of the 6 but as it stands it may struggle to make it through the semi-finals at Eurovision. I think it could still be lifted by a revamp or good staging.
None of them have much of a chance to get out of the semi-final of Eurovision. As sad as it is, their representatives for the past two years are better than this selection.
I like Apollo, but I am afraid that it will easily be forgotten at the eurovision among all the other acts. I deeply believe that Freschta should represent Switzerland next year. With the right staging, some gold lights, confettis falling from the ceiling, well-managed camera takes and a lot of emotion this could actually become one of the best 2017 acts. I deeply hope that somebody at the SRF will understand how important the visual representation is, and that they won’t repeat the horrors of the past. This staging does not disclose all the potential of this song. And for… Read more »

These are the differences between the songs, in my opinion 😛
As I said before I’m not counting Ginta or Shana out either if they polish their vocals and presentation. However, based on song quality and connection, Timebelle is the best choice.
Timebelle seems like the right choice on first impressions but it feels cheap and generic on he second listen.
However Freschta is the standout for me. It’s soulful and the most original of the six entries.
I get why people wouldn’t like it, just like Cyprus 2015 everyone was expecting a song like that to crash and burn in the semi finals but look where they ended up.
I actually Like Ginta’s post chorus instrumental. It just should be a little bit louder. Idk I think It’s gonna sound way better during the show on tv 🙂 I actually really like the song and think she has huge potential in ESC. Such a diva yaaas slay mawma! If she would get agood revamp she could go big
Timebelle for me, but none of these songs will do (much) better than Rykka and Melanie I’m afraid.
Apollo, if they want to be in the finals.
@Ugnius –
It’s actually within the rules and happens quite often that a song can be recycled through various national finals. Because the song has never been released commercially (to anyone’s knowledge) before September 1st 2016, it’s valid to be used this year. It’s kind of the “Anouk Rule”, since she’s the most famous example of it – she briefly sang Birds on Dutch radio about 3 years before it appeared at Eurovision, but it was never commercially released.
Wait a minute… If Timbelle’s song has previuosly entered Azerbaijan’s national selection in 2015, shouldn’t it be removed from the Entscheidungsshow line-up, since there’s a rule that any Eurovision song shouldn’t be publicly released before 1 September ?
Ginta is a potential one. Her song needs to be revamped. It could be a modern song, which could end up high on Eurovision.
“The Fire in the Sky” by Nadya. 😀
All 6 seam way better than at least 3 of the last year finalists.
Timebelle may be the best of the bunch, but it’s still incredibly weak. It’s ok, but vocals, rhythm, song, … Nothing stands out.
Sebalter was refreshing and upbeat, but this is lacklustre. I don’t think we will qualify this year either.
Its obvious which is the best…
i think im in the ginta biku camp despite the tragic lyrics
theres some like era istrefi / dua lipa vibes coming from her that are going to do well at eurovision
Apollo is head and shoulders above the rest. Not even close.
Timebelle all the way! I will vote as often as I can for them in February.
Freschta is good as well, Ginta is acceptable. The rest not.
Are you going to do a reaction / favorites video soon?
Timebelle could probably do well with some good staging. The rest don’t really stand a chance.
I think for Switzerland, this is a pretty good selection. It won’t come as a surprise, but my favourite is also Apollo.
Not a very strong selection at all……..two songs are worse than caveman from umk even.
3rd year in a row Swizerland ia going to end last, and deservedly so.
Timebelle!
Ginta Biku 2nd and Nadya 4th. This is why we cant have nice things.
Also, why is everyone moaning about the songs. I think it’s a really good selection considering its Switzerland.
Switzerland released so weak songs. I think this country won`t qualify to Grand Final.
Timebelle, with some great staging, can definitely reach a top 15 in the final.
Depending on how good the other countries acts are, I believe ginta could possibly qualify.
I don’t think the others have much chance to qualify
HEY! How about a choice for “None of the above”? 😛
Again, I say they left a sure finalist off the roster of 6. Which means that, of the 5 Eurovisions that I will have watched in their entirety (including this one coming in May), only one–Sebalter–will have made the final for SUI.
I don’t know who should win the Swiss national final, but I know for sure that Switzerland won’t win the ESC next year… And this comes from a Swiss.
Switzerland, please reopen submissions
Nadya or Timebelle.
Ginta with a revamp (that instrumental especially) could have some potential – Timebelle is the best choice so far but it needs some good staging to really lift the track.
