Amir judges Miss France Alicia aylie

He possesses talent, poise and beauty in spades. And on Saturday evening Eurovision 2016 singer and French chart-topper Amir put his skills to good use as he judged the Miss France 2017 beauty pageant in the Arena de Montpellier.

Amir and his fellow judges assessed 30 of France’s most beautiful women, including debutants from Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy. They ultimately crowned Alicia Aylies, Miss Guyana, as their new queen.

Amir, who is happily married, can still appreciate the beauty (and beauté) of other women, and he seemed giddy ahead of the show.

A few hours before going live he shared a picture with his 142,000 Instagram followers that showed him in front of his dressing room along with the caption: “Very honoured to take part in tonight’s jury for Miss France 2017!”

Eurovision fans watching the show would have particularly loved the swimsuit segment — and not merely because of all the flesh on display.

As part of the segment, the women actually strutted to Amir’s Eurovision hit “J’ai cherché”!

Naturally this compelled us to put down our champagne and capture the action on Instagram.

Miss France remains incredibly popular in France, with millions tuning in to watch the proceedings.

Amir’s participation signals his ever-growing profile, as he sat alongside fellow jurors and cultural icons including actress and singer Arielle Dombasle, Olympic boxing champion Tony Yoka and comedian and humorist Michèle Bernier.

Last year’s jury members included Jean-Paul Gaultier, Patrick Fiori and Kendji Girac.

Did you like the sight of the ladies walking out to “J’ai cherché”? What other Eurovision songs do you think fit the swimsuit spirit? Let us know in the comments box below!

And next, for the sake of balance and political correctness, Amir will also judge the winner of Mr Gay France…
(I joke, obviously.)

Bonjour Kiev,

I’d love a 400lb wheelchair-bound Miss France. Beauty is on the inside, people!
