Happy new year! As 2016 came to a close, Eurovision fans across the globe ranked their all-time favourite Eurovision songs as part of the annual Eurovision Top 250, which is revealed at the end of each and every year. And like a Christmas TV schedule full of repeats, Loreen has come out on top of the #ESC250 list for the fifth consecutive year.
Il Volo moved up a place from last year to finish second (watching last year’s runner-up Conchita Wurst drop to #10).
Three entries from the most recent contest in Stockholm made it to the top 10: Sergey Lazarev finished third, Jamala finished fourth, and Poli Genova finished sixth.
Loreen, who has been unbeatable since her win at Eurovision 2012, would love to be the one to un-do her own winning streak in the ESC250. She’s competing at Melodifestivalen 2017, which could pave the way for her to sing at Eurovision again.
In addition to Loreen, the Top 10 includes five other Eurovision winners: Jamala at #4, Sertab Erener at #5, Måns Zelmerlöw at #8, Marija Serifovic at #9 and Conchita Wurst at #10.
Spain’s Pastora Soler, who placed seventh in this year’s vote, is the lowest-placing act to make the Top 10. At Eurovision 2012 she finished tenth with “Quédate Conmigo.”
You can see the full 2016 list of the Eurovision Top 250 at the end of this post. But first you can enjoy the Top 10 in reverse order…

No Era Stupendo.. That song is gold.. I’m happy Soldiers of Love placed that high though!
So happy with “Grande Amore” finishing second this year. Proving it’s a precious song that will stand the test of time. (Just like the timeless masterpiece “Euphoria”.)
For me Germany deserved to won with song from 1971,1975,1977,1978,1979,1980, 1981 more than song from 1982. I don t like Nicole song and for me Siegel deserved to won with Lena Valaitis in 1981 , Johnny Blue for me is so much better song than Ein bißchen Frieden
Poli 6th <3
I’m very happy for Pastora Soler. 🙂
Question: Did anyone see the 1982 winner by Nicole on the list? – That’s a very meaningful song, lyrically.
A lot of my personal favourites are there, so yey!
Anabel Condé and “Vuelve Conmigo” should really be in the Top 5. There were some great songs in the 1990s, mostly ignored sadly.
Il Volo?<3
So happy to see at#25 nocturne,#67 et s'il fallai le faire and #119 après toi
I am really glad Jüri is at relatively high place despite his last place last year. but sad for Brainstorm being so low. it is one of the most unique and memorable songs ever from ESC
LOREEN is the QUEEN of Eurovision. That ain’t gonna change anytime soon.
Dima Bilan, Sergej Lazarev, Polina Gagarina and Elena Temnikova (ex SEREBRO) performing Waterloo

@Plum: I guess you must have found a secret hobby by counting the number of times I say “naked torso” referring to someone who came up with the most pathetic song in 2016 that only in classical televoting fashion gets the most votes because pretty much those tv sets must have been on mute .. Happy 2017 and keep counting all those torsos or any sarcasm I will be throwing to all your darling male singers you want so much to see on the Eurovision stage for reasons that aren’t even musical. Cheers. @Polegend Godgarina: You speak of this poll… Read more »
Surprised and glad to see You’re Not Alone high up on that list, but I can’t understand how Sergey finished above both Jamala and Poli.
The video ”I’m in it with you” distroyed Loreen’s career.
After ”Euphoria” she was that eco-friendly sweetheart of Europe, but now she is a hooligan.
I realy don’t think she will win Melfest.
People who actually have heard Loreen’s “Statements” says that it’s a killer song that will floor us all again. She can totally win everything once again. This not just a winner coming back, it is the biggest winner of the decade coming back. People still remembers her. She needs to disappoint big time to not win Melfest again.
Can’t believe Jade Ewen didn’t make the list…
Great to see Nina Kraljic pretty high 🙂
@Charles
For some reason you’re too obsessed with Sergey’s naked torso from his past. Sergey forgot about it long ago and you forget it and be happy=)) Be happy with each and every second of YOUR own life.
Happy New year=)
No problem with Loreen winning, but Sergey and especially Il Volo are so freaking overrated!
@ Charles, you are so angry. ESC is also about staging, I just don’t like artists who are making fun of ESC by doing something silly on purpose, but Sergey was not naked on stage, and Simon Cowell did not invented pop opera by creating Il Divo, he was just copying The Three Tenors. Italy has more rights over opera, than Simon Cowell (if you know the history of italian opera).
And your beloved Loreen, it is understood why she needed to cover her face and focus on singing. Who wants to see that face ?
Most of the people who voted for it seem to only have seen the recent contests given the results…
@Pollaski: Predictable much maybe … cause after all the majority of the Eurovision are out-of-the-closet coming outers that once heard about Dana International and flood into the contest every year ever since … therefore these are all that they know … ain’t nobody got time or wants to have the time to even grasp the fact that, yes, the contest has been around for the last 62 years … I guess nobody wants to see full dressed people from the 60 or 70s … bring in all the naked Sergeys available from Russia and you have the party ready to… Read more »
So … no naked male torsos, no arrogant Il Divo-wannabes and televote desperate infuriated loonies have the power or the ability to shut down the creativity, uniqueness and impact from the one and only Loreen … 2017 starts on a high note for me.
@fikri nailed it
Wayyyyyyyyyyy too much recency bias.
No Bucks Fizz….gutted
recency bias, recency bias everywhere~
Good to see Pastora Soler in the top 10, an absolutely classic entry and performance!
Pinch.of.salt.
Pastora <3
Most robbed entry ever
Love this blog.
Love that ‘if love was a crime’ made it to the top 10. Love ‘euphoria’ at number 1.
Thanks wiwibloggs for a great year. Here’s to the next.
Xx
Please “statements” be an even stronger song and production ..
Happy to see Pastora Soler so high up. She should have finished 2nd behind Loreen in 2012, and any other year she should have won.

So happy for that result. A light-hearted song that brought love and light to a year of sadness…..
I really feel for you if u had to type those results out
Euphoria again. Wow. (*insert sarcasm*)
I wonder what the demographics of those that voted in ESC250 are…
Very happy to See Dami Im at #15 considering many eurovision fans hate that Australia is in the competition. Im curious to see that if Dami was from Europe, would she be in the top 5… And bravo to Sweden and Loreen, praying her Statements entry is even better than Euphoria. Sweden deserves the 7th win if she goes to Eurovision.
I’m glad for Pastora Soler.
