After heat two of A Dal was postponed following a tragic bus crash involving Hungarian students, the second heat is due to take place tonight. Earlier this week we launched a flash poll to determine which six acts should qualify for the semi-finals. Hungary have faired consistently well since their return to the contest in 2011 – making the final every single year. Which of these acts has what it takes to take Hungary back to the final?

After counting 644 votes, we can now reveal that Adam Szabo has come out on top with his song “Together”. He earned 126 votes — 19.57% of the total. His song is an anthem of inclusion, support and strength, of accepting people who might be a bit different to you. It uses modern electronic production styles to give a modern sound.

But there was only one vote between first and second place. In second with 125 votes (19.41%) was Chase with “Dust in the Wind”. His song “Dust in the Wind” is a take of a broken relationship. It also electronic production, but has the typical A Dal attention to vocals.

Coming up in third place is Kallay Saunders Band with “17”. They received 105 votes — 16.3% of the vote. Kallay Saunders previously won A Dal in 2014 with his song “Running”, which went on to place fifth at Eurovision. “17” is a nostalgic song, looking back at young love.

A Dal heat 2 – readers poll results

I had no clue that they switched the 2nd and 3rd heats around. Fortunately I caught this in time to listen to all 10 of these, and this is what I thought:

9.34 Mrs. Columbo
9.34 Kállay-Saunders Band
9.32 Ádám Szabó
9.26 AnnaElza and Juli Kása
9.22 Chase
9.20 Andi Tóth
——————–
9.14 Gina Kanizsa
9.12 Zoltán Mujahid
9.10 Peet Project
8.94 Peter Kovary and the Royal Rebels

With Totova & Co. singing next week, it will not be easy for András and his band to win.

This is the weakest heat. Adam and Chase should easily make it.

Adam Szabo, a peace song. What have you done Jamala, you’ve created a monster (of peace).

Probably the easiest heat to predict.
KSB has a great song and you know it is going to be performed well. Adam Szabo is going to be overrated (just like in this poll) and Chase is the big surprise, a great song!
