Ahead of tomorrow’s first semifinal of Melodifestivalen 2017, the seven artists took to the stage and performed for a live audience at the dress rehearsal tonight. Swedish fanclub Melodifestivalklubben ran their usual audience exit poll, where they ask the departing audience which performance they had liked the most. The results point to a clear favourite.
It seems that the big favourite among the Swedish people is the newcomer Nano. Over 40 percent of the 720 people surveyed thought he had the best performance of the night. He has also been given a prime spot in the running order, as he is closing the show with “Hold On”.
In second place is Melodifestivalen 2015 finalist Boris René, who opens the show with “Her Kiss”. This former footballer got 17.2 percent of the votes.
Not far from him is another Melfest veteran, two-time finalist Ace Wilder. If these were the official results, Ace and her “Wild Child” would be headed to Andra Chansen round. She is currently leading our poll, but unfortunately for her, most of our readers won’t be able to vote for her tomorrow.
Comedy group De Vet Du finished fourth in the audience poll and would be the last act going through from the first semifinal. In our recent interview with the group they told us that they hope the audience will have fun. At least 103 people in the audience were feeling their “Road Trip” and thought they had the best performance of the night.
At the other end, it doesn’t look good for Eurovision winner and two-time Melodifestivalen winner Charlotte Perrelli, who has changed her music style dramatically and is this time singing “Mitt liv”, a very personal ballad in Swedish. Only 11 people thought La Perrelli should win this semifinal.
Melodifestivalklubben emphasize that the audience in tonight’s dress rehearsal was mainly families. Nano and Adrijana also had the chance to perform their songs twice, as they were randomly selected as the winners during the rehearsal. This might have affected the result as well.
Melodifestivalklubben’s audience poll is generally considered to be a good indicator of how songs will place in the Melodifestivalen live shows.

Most of the songs are really bad, I would also choose Nano. Boris, though his entry last year was better and Adrijana are ok too.
What? Dinah should win!
If schlager means quality, it means that until now, Sweden’s good results were pure luck. I hope Loreen wins Melfest and she stays in semifinal. It will be glorious.
Nano is the best. I love his song.
I also like Boris, Adrijana and Ace Wilder.

A Dal and Eesti Laul are overrated. Especially Eesti Laul.

Sweden sent singer with good looks in 2005 and they finished 19 of 24 in final (in years that we had 100 % televote, and when look was much importer than now when we have 100 % juries votes and 100 % televote). Karl from Norway look like Nano and get Norway good placement in 2014 8 place in final with 26 countries in era of 50% televote and 50 % juries votes.
The minute-versions rarely show the real quality of the songs. And that goes for Nano and ‘Hold on’ as well.

@Karl ffs,Eurovision is not a beauty pageant,dear..But yeah in order to appeal to you someone needs to be a big diva that will “slay” or someone with a six pack.
I admit though that I want someone with more experience on stage to win for us Swedes this year. Someone who knows how to work the cameras and so on.. I have a feeling that Nano is too much of a rookie to represent us even if the song is great, but he can get his breakthrough. No problem. I just don’t want another “Frans-year”. But we’ll see where he ends up. The competition have only started and the compettion will also be tougher than last year I think for it to become another “Frans-year”.
Nano shouldn’t go to Eurovision. He doesn’t have the right look for it. He won’t get a lot of votes.
I want the full songs and performances to judge anything. And what is quality to someone isn’t it to somebody else. For me the so called quality songs can be so boring and I never listen to them after the competition. Every country should in my opinion go for a potential hit that have a life after the contest. And isn’t that one thing the juries look for in esc? There is not one song I am excited about here. They are all pretty bad, some of the songs sound older than I am!
Either Melodifestivalen is keeping the real songs for the other semi-finals or it has fallen ridiculously far behind A Dal and Eesti Laul in terms of quality.
Totally agreed with the poll. Ace Wilder is overrated by non-Swedishs, and Perelli will fall just like Mitt Guld last year.
The day Charlotte Perrelli comes last in a poll is the day the USA falls out with Australia. Oh, wait… that happened too. Doh!

No surprises here really. The expected favourites go through. But it’s the weakest heat so their result in the final won’t be that high. None of them are winner, that comes from semi 3 or 4
And no, Perreli won’t just miss out. She will come dead last. it’s a horrible song.
I find Nano very overrated as well. I feel like he’s only getting hype since he was given the prime spot in the running order. Still think him and Ace will go to the final though. Boris/Dinah/De Vet Du will probably battle it out for AC. And in my opinion Adrijana and Charlotte have very slim odds of advancing.

Nano = mix of Sigma and James Bay. Overrated, don’t even think he deserves Andra Chansen really. Boris Rene = really? Second? He’s easily the worst of this semi. Ace = deserves direkt till final, not as good as Busy Doin’ Nothin’ but better than Don’t Worry. Dinah Nah = also deserves direkt till final. Make Me La La La was a very good song and IMO she’s the only one who I think has stepped it up since last time. Adrijana = deserves Andra Chansen. I just realised that “Hold On” sounds like “Coming Home” by Sigma & Rita Ora.
In my opinion, Nano is overrated, although I have to admit that this semi is not too strong anyway.
Boris Rene’s song sounds so dated if they pick him direct to final over Ace then I’ve lost all hope after my shock of Norma John winning UMK sorry but even live that song does nothing for me :/
