We’re just a few hours away from Germany making their Eurovision decision at Unser Song 2017. We saw 90 seconds of all five acts performing both “Wildfire” and “Perfect Life” yesterday. Reaction wasn’t all that positive, but now each track is now available in full on Spotify. Will this be enough to change some minds?
We’ve linked each artist’s version of both tracks below, under their names. Take a listen to each and then head down below to vote in our poll. We want to know who y’all think should go on to Kyiv for Germany!

He is probably best of all in this competition of amateurs. Germany isn’t taking it seriously. It’s clear.
Will Wildfire be performed first out of the two songs?
If it will… crap.
Yeah, the beginning Levina’s version of “Perfect Life” sounds totally like Titanium and that is not a good thing! And Axel Feige’s version of Perfect Life starts just like Kwabs – Walk. The songs are generic but the production is even worse, especially on Felicia Lu`s track. She clearly wanted modern electro-pop, but what she got is “Schlager”- cheap disco feeling songs.

Here we are, discussing 2 songs, made in 8 (in total) different arrangements. Germany, you sure laugh at us, right? Hahahah
Perfect Life by Axle. Its really the only song that I truly like from this DIRE selection.
I like Axel’s version’s of “Perfect Life” and “Wildfire” and Felicia’s version of “Wildfire” the best. It’s between these two really to be honest.
If only they could do a duet with “Wildfire” their voices would sound good together.

Decent, but nothing really stands out. Not fond of this formula to be honest. I predict another bottom right hand side of the scoreboard for Germany once again. Please go back to last year’s format and bring in some established acts along with some newbies! Good singers, average songs in this lot. I have no idea who I prefer because they’re the same songs. Meh.
After listening to all the versions I’ll comment by song. “Wildfire”: All versions seem to have a similar beat. Axel Feige’s version has quick tempo. Same with Helene Nissen’s version which has also a more country sound. Felicia Lu’s version has a more pop sound. But I really like her voice. Same with Yosefin with the difference that here we have an electro sound. Levina seems like an up-tempo ballad. The tempo is slower than in the other songs. “Perfect life”: Axel’s version seems indeed like Estonia 2016. Felicia’s version is nice, creates a good mood. Helene Nissen’s version sounds… Read more »

As long as Axel (preferably “Perfect Life”) or Felicia (preferably “Wildfire”) win, I’ll be happy. The others are rather weak, although none of the 10 songs are really good.
I hope Axel wins this thing. His versions of the two songs give me the chills. <3

I’m into Axel Feige’s Perfect Life A LOT, but I hope Germany (or Europe) don’t forget Felicia Lu, that’s a amazing voice! Maybe a Perfect Life duet between Axel and Felicia…ok, I’ll stop dreaming now.
Yosefin’s version of Wildfire is very very weak and the instrumental is terrible. Her Perfect Life has that video game theme music vibe that’s really offputting.
All of these songs are damn overproduced, it’s beyond me.
My pick would be Levina with Wildfire. But this means choosing 25th place instead of 26th, really.
“Perfect Life” by Axel reminds me a bit of “Play” by Jüri… – We all know how this has ended…

Levina’s version of Wildfire is anthemic, the best so far, but it wouldn’t do much at the contest (wtf are those effects in the second and third choruses?!). As for her Perfect Life, you’re 5 years late for the Titanium bandwagon.
Helene Nissen’s versions are decent. Nothing outstanding of course, but listenable and with a bit of personality. Way overproduced though, just like all the other songs so far.
Felicia’s songs are completely lifeless. This isn’t going well so far.

Although the idea of more than one singer presenting the same song to the public worked for Germany in 2010, it’s not good today. These songs sound unpersonal and dated no matter what singer sings them. I hear no difference in some of the girls’ vocal performances. The German public will probably have no choice whatsoever, so they’ll send any singer who will give their best.
The German broadcaster should make their selection a real competition, just like the Eurovision Song Contest is, with artists and songwriters fighting for the best song to win.
I’ve only listened to Axel’s songs and I’m fuming. He has a great voice, and they gave him those two… things? Neither remotely fits his timbre. Germany is truly fighting for that last place again, whew. Let’s hear the girls but the songs are bad to start with so I won’t get my hopes up.

Many people talk about Spain obsession with divas, but what about Germany and these cute girls, year after year? It is so predictable that Felicia Lu will be in Kiev, why even watch the show?

Wildfire with Felicia Lu is the obvious choice for me.. its the better song of the two and she has the best version of the song, also a very sweet and unique voice.. hope it wins tonight!
