We flooded our basement over snaps of this week’s rehearsals. We gasped at the eyebrow-raising lyrics. And we’ve been gagging for the 2 and a half minute snippets all week. Now SVT has released the almost full studio versions of the seven songs competing in Semi-Final 2 of Melodifestivalen 2017. Before rehearsals, y’all were loving Mariette. And after rehearsals she’s taken a commanding lead with 44% of all votes in our poll for who you want to win the semi-final. But will this longer snippet keep the momentum going?

You can watch all the action unfold from 20:00 CET, live on SVT Play. Two acts will qualify to the grand final at Friends Arena in Stockholm. A further two will head to Andra Chansen. The other three songs will be shown the door and knocked out of the competition.

My goodness, some of them need to turn down that auto-tune. Is that Benjamin singing or a computer?
My top after the almost full studio versions: 1. Mariette- A Million Years: Really nice , radio friendly song. Uptempo with some dirty pop notes. It’s not better than “Don’t Stop Believing” but is should be a finalist and should win this semi. 2. Benjamin Ingrosso- Good Lovin’ : This one turned out a lot better on the 2.30 version. I agree @Denis. The good stuff is yet to come. Well, I hope! Because there has been no wow-moment yet. Just good. Nano is missing something in the chorus of Hold on and doesn’t feel completely finished somehow. And one thing that stands against Nano this year is that he comes from the first semifinal compared to Frans last year. He was in the last semifinal when almost everyone had revealed their songs. I feel like I will be very dissapointed tonight.
My favourites for DTF are Mariette and Dismissed and for AC Etzia and Roger. i like all 4 of them more than any song in the first semi.
Typical MF stuff. Better than the first one but the 3rd &4th heat is where the good stuff is. That’s where a winner comes from. Nano is the favourite because they have only finished one semi-final. No one really expects him to win. It’s a good song that probably will end up top 5 but win? Molly Sanden was the outright favourite last year after announcements and everyone was sure she would win. Mariette by far the best song this year: catchy, polished, absolutely perfect! Lisa Ajax was a disappointment :/

Benjamin’s song is the best imo, I was originally rooting for Mariette & Lisa but I love me a retro song
My favourite songs are by Mariette,Roger ,Etzia and Dismissed but its apparent at least 2 of them won’t qualify to the next stages.

I still think Mariette is overrated. She isn’t bad, but she’d only go to andra chansen if it was up to me. Lisa and Benjamin are my winners.
Mariette & Dismissed are my personal favorites, but I think Mariette & Benjamin Ingrosso will go to the final and Lisa Ajax & Dismissed to the 2nd chance round.

I don’t see the hype in Nano. Never will. Is it because of his back story or something? It’s definitely not his song. Wait until semi-final 3 and 4, that’s when melfest will kick off.
Noone here will beat Nano though. He´s still the big fav to win the final.

Still a great song from Mariette! After listening to the longer snippet, I love it even more! Final for sure! Roger Pontare will have the most interesting staging tonight (and song of course). I really liked the chorus. This song should qualify or go to second chance. I would be surprised if Sweden chose to send a song like this, they usually send typical pop songs in English. Benjamin is definitely the best so far. Mariette has a very generic song nothing original with it, it’s not a winner AT ALL, it’s just an okay song! Lisa is just mehhh

After very weak SF1 this one is a little bit better but still disappoints me. Only Mariette and Dismissed sound promising for me. I don’t care about the others.

I love Mariette but the second snippet I feel like there’s an awkward drop which might be a little offputting. Her, Dismissed, Lisa Ajax and Roger Pontare remain my top four though.
