We’re another step closer to finding out Lithuania’s Eurovision 2017 representative, as Eurovizijos atranka 2017 continued on Saturday evening with another knockout episode. It’s been a very long road, but the finish line is now firmly in sight.
Eight qualifiers from the last two shows returned to sing their entries. Amongst those on the show were Lithuania’s 2009 Eurovision representative Sasha Song, as well as the two winners of the last two shows: Aiste Pilvelyte and Gytis Ivanauskas, as alter ego Lolita Zero. Yes, the drag queen smashing watermelons.
Only four acts could advance to the semi-final, which takes place in two weeks time on 4 March. Aiste Pilvelyte confirmed her place as tonight’s winner, and will be joined by Sasha Song, Greta Zazza and Ieva Zasimauskaite.
Our Wiwi Jury has a lot to say about Aiste Pilvelyte. Our blogger Renske said:
I had to rewatch this three times before I understood what I had seen. It is so impressive, but I don’t know if it’s good or bad. To be honest, I was not a big fan of either of Aminata’s songs at first, but slowly but surely I liked them both. Still, I think “I’m Like a Wolf” might not be cross generational enough, though she received the best televoting score of all participants in the heats.
Eurovizijos atranka 2017 – Show seven running order
Ieva Zasimauskaite – “You Saved Me”
E.G.O. – “My Story”
Greta Zazza – “Like I Love You”
Gytis Ivanauskas – “Get Frighten”
Aiste Pilvelyte – “I’m Like a Wolf”
Edgaras Lubys – “Could It Be?”
Sasha Song – “Never Felt Like This Before”
Gražvydas – “Paint the Sky Blue”

Same as last year’s competition, the international jury panel returned to have their say on tonight’s 8 acts. Tonight’s panel consisted of William Wells from the United States, the UK’s Denis Ingoldsby and making his Eurovizijos atranka debut, Denmark’s Sean-Poul de Fre Gress. Their results count towards 50% of the overall jury votes, and were then combined with the other 50% from the Lithuanian juries.

Hello! This is my first visit to your blog! We are a group of volunteers and starting a new project in a community in the same niche. Your blog provided us valuable information to work on. You have done a outstanding job!
Aiste Pilvelyte should improve her vocals. When you compare her live version to the studio version you can hear a very big difference… She doesn’t hit the most important D5 note in the song live. She just sings in falsetto. It sounds weak.
Leaf: This is how the entire Eurovizijos atranka 2017 process works.
We started off with 49 participants across four heats (Weeks 1, 2, 3 and 4, Aiste performed on heat 4).
After that, only 24 acts then go through a knockout round (Weeks 5 and 6, Aiste won the latter), followed by another knockout round with the remaining 16 acts (Aiste won week 7, this weekend will be week 8).
After all that, we’ll have our eight semi-finalists on 4 March, followed by the grand finale on 11 March.
For now I’m happy we are saved from the Gytis Ivanauskas act.
@Roelof Meesters
Lolita Zero IS eliminated. His real name is actually Gytis Ivanauskas, if you didn’t know.
@Leaf
Three more heats.
She is the Lithuanian Claudia Faniello
I’ve been reading her name in every single Lithuanian national final.
Guess she will win this time.
p.s
How many Heats are we getting cos I am starting to feel Cold from the same news ….. She wins every week, can she just get the ticket to Kiev and let’s end this painful process already ?
Aist? must go to eurovision!!!
Aiste for ESC
Lolita Zero isn’t out, why does everybody say that?
Aiste is boring, Greta Zazza is AMAZING!!!!!!!!! BY FAR the best choice here, she would be a surefire qualifier.
AISTE GO!!!!!
lmaooooo lolita zero bye girl (guy?)
greta zazza and aiste going in for the kill i like it 🙂
Wow finally fantastic results!!!!! First time i 100% agree on the final results in a Lithuanian heat 🙂 VERY happy with that !!!!
Greta Zazza and Gabrielius Vagelis for the win! I searched for this NF in Wikipedia and it seems the jury results (the Lithuanian one) are revealed long before (I remember Aiste had 12 and Greta 10, also Lolita Zero last with 3). As I could see Gabrielius Vagelis get 10 points from the Lithuanian jury, so I hope he qualifies next week! The 12 points from the Lithuanian jury will go to Fusedmarc, last Queen of Roses with 4 points(hope they will be eliminated).
I just want Greta Zazza to win
Greta Zazza pls!!!!
For as long as that lip sync watermelon smasher for no reason is out of the game I am perfectly fine with whoever comes to play the game with MUSIC … it’s enough already with the zoo animals taking part of this.
And at this stage no Lolita Zero or One Hundred will have in impact on Russia’s homophobia so … bye Felicia!
Lolita Zero is FINALLY out?! Thank you!
Let’s go Aiste!

Ieva Zasimauskaite – “You Saved Me” is another ballad. Like her voice though. Sasha Song reminds me of “I didn’t know” (San Marino 2016) but in a good way. It’s happy, up-lifting, you wanna dance with this song. My only concern is that it’s more music than lyrics. We mostly listen to the music than actually someone singing. Aiste’s song has “Aminata” vibes, as Aminata has written the song and the song fits perfectly with her voice. “Like I Love You” is an up-beat pop song. Clearly the best among the four. But I’m not sure Lithuania would qualify with… Read more »
I really hope Aiste won’t represent us. Can’t stand her performance and personality.
Aiste has a good song don’t get me wrong, I just feel like it’s not the right choice. Greta for the win!
Aiste, only Aiste!
Aiste is overrated by televote and lithuania juries, we saw that international juris didn t gave high points to Aiste. I think with Aiste , Lithuania will be out of TOP 15 in final like Latvia who are choose second time in row Aminata song for Eurovision.
Aiste and Greta would bring Lithuania another top 10, they deserved it! <3
I’m happy about Aiste, Greta and Ieva but Sasha is very overrated. His song is nothing special.
I’m sad about E.G.O. but OMG, so happy Lolita Zero and Edgaras didn’t make it! Their songs were utter trash.
