As Lithuania celebrated their 26th year of independence, there was also the matter of who will become the country’s 18th Eurovision representative in Kyiv. After four heats, two knockout rounds and a semi-final, Lithuania’s national selection marathon Eurovizijos atranka 2017 finally came to an end.
The six remaining participants — and a second chance for one lucky act — made the long journey to tonight’s final. In the end, Lithuania has selected Fusedmarc as their Eurovision 2017 representative with the song “Rain of Revolution”.
“Rain of Revolution” final performance
Last year’s winner Donny Montell returned to perform his single “Screw Me Up”, followed by his Eurovision 2016 entry “I’ve Been Waiting For This Night”. He also played a crucial role on tonight’s final as one of seven Lithuanian juries. Another Eurovision returnee, Sunstroke Project, were guest interval acts performing their Eurovision 2017 entry “Hey Mamma”.
Eurovizijos atranka 2017 final running order
- Paula – “Let U Go”
- Gabrielius Vagelis – “Feel Myself Free”
- Greta Zazza – “Like I Love You”
- Fusedmarc – “Rain of Revolution”
- Aiste Pilvelyte – “I’m Like a Wolf”
- Gytis Ivanauskas (Lolita Zero) – “Get Frighten”
- Kotryna Juodzeviciute – “Love Shadow”
Eurovizijos atranka 2017 final results
For one last time, the international juries had their say on tonight’s seven finalists and gave those all-important points. They count towards 50% of the overall jury votes, with the other 50% from the Lithuanian juries.

I’m Lithuanian and i’m not proud of that song at all :/
The best song ever!!! At least not a commonplace, something different, great vocals, awesome music!!
My number 1
powerful song with great beat. yeah yeah. and those who say that it’s a crap have crappy taste of music. yeah yeah
As a Lithuanian, I want to say, that we chose this song, because we liked it a.k.a. It wasn’t last or barely holding in every heat until the finals, it did pretty A’o ‘key. This should be a good (I hope so) live performance, because of her energy and all the ballads and slow songs this year. A lot of people may bash us, but we will stand and show you everything we’ve got!
Amazing song! top 10
I think people are maybe being a bit too harsh on this one. There’s a good song buried in here somewhere but there are certainly problems that need to be worked on before May. The biggest issue is the “ya ya ya ya” after the chorus, it gets very irritating quickly. They need to either add some other lyrics or find something instrumental to substitute in there.
At least I definitely prefer this to the cheesy, anodyne ballad that Estonia is sending (though, for the third year in a row, Latvia is the best of the Baltic nations imo)
I see all the haters came here… Seriously..relax people… Honestly, I really don’t like all those cheap same popmusic ESC songs. This song is much better than 50% of all the songs al least this year…I like her voice so much…something similar to Bjork, I would say https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O09ihKAJ4FU
Geez, that’s BAD.
Portugal’s song is a masterpiece compared to this trash.
Well, I think this should qualify to the final, because this year there are a lot of slow ballads, and in this context this song may be more memorable. And also, it’s a little bit off the ,,Eurovision standarts” and also everytime I hear it it makes me move, shake my head to the rythm, so that’s why I like it.
Honestly there was not much of a choice in Lithuania. They have great singers but this final was a trashcan. Obviously I’m no fan of Fusedmarc.
I’m from Lithuania and of course Aiste, Paula, Greta, Kotryna, Gytis was better.
But I hope that FUSEDMARC will represent my country well at the ESC (maybe even will qualify to the grand final).
At least the chosen one wasn’t Lolita! But seriously this song is a mess, not structure, not good vocals, don’t know how this won with both jury and televote. Her moves and look are a bit strange for me.
Lithuania has no chance to qualify I think… And that’s sad because this year they had some good songs, in the final there were at least 5 better songs: Paula, Greta, Aiste, Kotryna and my great fav Gabrielius!
Lithuania always qualifies, so this should too. I mean if they managed to get through with lesser songs in 2011, 2012 and 2013 then they should qualify with this one too, who’s slightly better.

Horrendous
By the way, to me, the real and only question concerning Lithuania is: How many times will Aiste Pilvelyte have to endure this selection until they finally select her? Come on, give the woman a good song for once. She’s a good singer.
Well, at least she is enjoying herself. Based on that final performance (the only thing I’ve watched of the Lithuanian selection with its endless and pointless system), she should not have any problems achieving orgasms. So she won’t be too down if she won’t qualify, which, by the way, I am not even so sure of at this point. It is Lithuania, they managed to qualify with way worse (Hello 2013).
10 weeks to select literally torture. This should be disqualified for failing to be a song. its rather noise.
Admittedly, this song wasn’t one of my favorites, and it doesn’t give me life. Actually, none of the finalists were all that thrilling for me. Of them, I think I preferred Aiste’s “I’m Like A Wolf”. Hey, at least it came second.
Also, I was amused with Gytis’ visual dismay (as they were standing just beside the host) with all the jury entries when the host read them off, as he ended up at the bottom or middle of most of them.
Vilnius 2018!!
… Just kidding.
Song is so good, you only need just listen it more than once! The idea and everything is so powerfull. Eurovision we need this song in the first place in the ESC Final on 2017 in Kijiv! Let’s Vote for Lithuania ‘Rain of Revolution’
Many people has their opinions about how they don’t like this song or how bad Lithuania’s ESC song took victory if compared with other songs…, but here you shouldn’t be surprise in Kijiv on the Final when Lithuania wins Eurovision 2017!! See you there!
CookyMonzta: Excluding Gytis, the other six finalists all performed their entries four times prior to the final.
Weeks 1, 2, 3 and 4: The heats featuring all 49 participants.
Weeks 5 and 6: The first knockout round (I’ll call it Round of 24 as a better explanation).
Weeks 7 and 8: The second knockout round (Let’s say Last 16, or I suppose you could say the Quarter-finals).
Week 9: Semi-final
Week 10: Final
Actually Lithuania chose fusedmarc because they got bored of all love and pop songs that are in esc. This is smh news.
This is a definite non-qualifier for me. The song is so bad.
Bottom 3, with Montenegro and Spain. The song itself isn’t THAT horrid, but her voice, accent and performance are REALLY bad.
C’mon guys, no need to be so judgemental! it may not be my number one in Eurovizijos atranka this year also, but people have chosen what they liked, so whatever, let them go, Lithuania never wins anyway. The girl has a vision and I kind of like it in some way. And to be honest, I am just glad that Aist? Pilvelyt? didn’t win, her song was OK, but that performance… it just made me to want to turn the TV off.
We chose what we liked, that’s it, live with it, Europe. It’s been years since swedish pop was something big, let’s make a change once in a while. What I don’t like about these comments is people being irrational. When was Fusedmarc barely holding on the list? First show – 4th place; Second show – 3rd; Third show – 1st; Fourth show (Semi-final) – 1st; Fiveth (Finale) – 1st. So when she was doing bad? The song was growing in Lithuania with each performance. Stop putting dumb excuses aka she wasn’t even questionable winner when 3 out of 5 shows… Read more »
Well mid 80s vibe is better than nowadays cliche sang by Paula or Greta Zazza. Revolution! Yeah!
To be honest, I didn’t have a clear favourite. I didn’t like any of the songs.
However, good luck to Lithuania!
@ x – I’ve listened to it around 7 times and I still can’t get through it because of the appalling technique of the singer. She should hold herself back and also revamp the production. Also, everyone will hear this once at the Eurovision, so there’s no time to make it grow.
Time for Lithuania to streamline their selection process. If I read the procedure correctly at Wikipedia, I’m not surprised at all as to why they end up the bridesmaid but never the bride in the Baltics. Why are there 8 heats, and the same people singing the same song in 2 or 3 of them?, BEFORE the semis and final? They made the process more complicated than it need be, and for that, I wouldn’t be surprised if the favorites ran out of gas. Make it simple next time: If they qualify from the heats, they go straight to the… Read more »
Wow, the reactions for this song are so harsh (and deservedly so). That’s what you get for sending a screaming Russian lady singing over a track from the mid 80s when you had 5 good songs to choose.
Y’all so dramatic, like COME ON, we have chosen what we have chosen and we liked, now you could never know what is going to happen on the stage during semi. You wanted Aiste, Paula or Greta to win? Aiste could never, it was her 9th time, I MEAN THAT’S ENOUGH, GIRL, JUST STOP IT, EUROVISION ISN’T YOUR THING! Paula and Greta were OK, but ppl didn’t vote for them, what can we do.. I supported Gabrielius and Kotryna, but then again at the end the jury had the final touch in the decision, so what can we do.. We… Read more »
The song is a grower, just give it a chance. I hate the cheap trumpets tho.
Lithuania, once again proving to be absolutely clueless at Eurovision.
Well, Lithuania had better hurry up and revamp that instrumental, because boy is the production out of date. It has potential but seriously please update it ASAP!!!
We have selected what *we* liked most. The song has lots of energy and it is not boring. This time it’s not a Swedish candy. Sorry about that.
Hahahaha, lol, awful! Her voice is soooo anoying! Donny give to this 12 points?! Does that assures his ego that he is the best Lithuanian entry so far?
Last place for Lithuania!
Yeah. This years fan wanks are still low…;)
This is SOOOOOOOOOO BAD!!!! They had Aiste, Paula and Greta, and they choose this DISASTER!!! Staying in the Semi-Final FOR SURE. Esc was going so well the last week and then this 🙁
@TheRainFromABove: i won’t call 24th favourite to win is high tho…
who cares about the song – odscheckers still put Lithuania high! 🙂
This is bad… Simply bad…

How did it win despite the presence of international juries?
Anyone know where the all the finalist performances can be watched?
Zero points.
Ummm, Donny was in the jury and he gave 12 points for this song. The motto of this year’s contest is ‘Respect diversity’ and Lithuania did it. A lot of lithuanians fell in love with this almost uknown band that has been performing for 13 years.
