Who runs the world? Girls! Nine (and a half) of the past winners of the Eurovision Song Contest from this century have been females riding solo, and gurl, they all slay. The 2017 contest in Kyiv will see seventeen ladies take to the stage on their own, proving they don’t need any backup to snatch the trophy from Jamala’s hands. Jamala, Loreen, Emmelie De Forest and Lena are some of the powerful women that have taken top spot at the contest in recent years. But can any of this years’ hopefuls add their name to this list?
These ladies will face some intense competition from the gents and groups competing. But in the spirit of celebrating diversity, we want to shine that spotlight on the girls, and we want to know who you think is the best female soloist at Eurovision 2017.
Review the songs below and then cast your votes. You can vote for as many gals as you’d like, but you can only vote one time, so be sure to click the box next to each act you want to support before pressing submit. We’ll close this poll prior to the first set of rehearsals in Kyiv.
