As the Eurovision preview parties went into full swing — with events in London, Tel-Aviv and Amsterdam — the votes continued to pour in for the 2017 OGAE poll. Next to cast their votes are the fan clubs from Luxembourg, Slovenia and Finland. And once again, Italy’s Francesco Gabbani continues to extend his lead, while Montenegro’s Slavko Kalezic has earned his first lot of points.
OGAE Luxembourg awarded their 12 points to Italy, with ten points going to Sweden. Luxembourg’s eight points went to Belgium. Getting points for the first time was Cyprus and Armenia — Hovig picked up two points from Luxembourg with one point for Artsvik.
Then it was OGAE Slovenia‘s turn to reveal their voting results. Just like Luxembourg, 12 points also went to Italy alongside ten points for Sweden. Slovenia became the first club to give points to Croatia, Austria and the United Kingdom. Jacques Houdek received six points, and Nathan Trent and Lucie Jones were awarded two points and one point respectively.
Next OGAE Finland revealed its votes. They also gave their 12 points to Italy, but their ten points went to their Baltic neighbours in Estonia. France received eight points. Finland also brought Montenegro onto the scoreboard, with the outrageous Slavko Kalezic picking up two points.
With now over 600 fans from six clubs having voted, the leader board is starting to take shape. Italy is still in the lead with 68 points, and Sweden takes a comfortable second place with 52 points. Belgium is in third place with 43 points, and Estonia and France closely follow in fourth and fifth place with 35 and 34 points respectively.
Twenty-three countries are yet to receive any points, it’s too early to see this as a bad sign. Thirty-nine OGAE clubs are still to cast their votes and at this stage anything could change.

@Real Karma I’m not here to defend the song (even if I think it’s good and more than tasteful for Europe), but for Italy-Rai situation. Stop saying that Italy doesn’t want to host ESC. Lately they are doing a lot of work and promotion in Italy. They refused JESC because in Italy no one here is interested in that. Rai is the second broadcaster in Europe, Sanremo this year costed 15,5 millions and they were trying to contain the costs (in 2013 they were 20 millions). The 5 days of Sanremo had a share of 50.7% (more than half of… Read more »
I am at a point where I will be happy with a win by any of the top 6 in this poll but Francesco…. it is a fun song, may be with clever lyrics (the lyrics will be lost on 95% or so of the viewers outside Italy) and an over-the-top performance, accompanied by a dancing monkey…. How can this possibly be the favorite? Anyway, I still believe in the good taste of Europe, so I think this will flop… but if it doesn’t, the question weather Italy will host is a valid one…. They declined to host JESC in… Read more »
Belgium does quite good so far. Sweden is overrated.
OGAE poll’s top 12 list are my favorite .thank you.
Imagine “Parque das Nações Meo Arena lisbon” host ESC.amazing

Good for Estonia! Should Kerli won the national final, it would not ranked that high.
romania’s four points are a travesty
surely azerbaijan or finland or some other country deserves those
ISRAEL’S SONGS IS AMAZING!!
Wow!! Just wow……when Montenegro has more points than Azerbaijan …..you know its all a big hoax
I´m not Italian. Francesco may not even win, there’s always that risk, no one can be 100% sure about it in advance, but one thing’s for sure: He has definitely already won millions of people’s hearts around the globe with that song, so for me…that’s the REAL WIN. It´s a song made by a real musician/songwriter, it´s a song sung with true heart, It´s a song that stirs our feelings, and has a strong message behind. This song is like an oyster: a popular catchy shell and inside a pearl! Gabanni is not only a singer but also a prodigious… Read more »
Rai is ready to organize Eurovision, if Francesco will win. RAI 1 is the most whatched channel in Italy. Last year Eurovision had a share of 17%. The friday prime time show had a share of 13; dancing with the star 18%. This year Eurovision with Francesco could have a share of 25 % and more. Rai wants to reintroduce Eurovision in the italian audience and, particularely, Rai 1 wants to have more youg people (the audience of Eurovision). 20 years ago Rai wasn’t interesting on Eurovision, but all is changed.
Slavko deserves to get more points. He is a masterpiece and so is his song.
@ Eve
Believe me RAI definitely do not want to win Eurovision. And this matters, especially for juries
@ EscIta- if you are really from Italy, so sad that you write like this for your representative..
Many countries considered ESC as ”stupid circus” and broadcoasters considered it as huge cost, Italy is not exeption at all.. Btw, people from other countries will vote for it, not Italians, so this attitude, besides it is true or not, is irrelevant after all.
@Michell: If Italy wins, I’d like to see them move the contest to Florence!
On Italy… I will never forget ESC 1985 when the hot favourite was Italy with Al Bano and Romina Power with “Magic or Magic” and it ended up 7th! The voting of that year was all concentrated in the more catching sounds of the Northern Europe entries… This is just one example of many many good Italian songs, that entered as favourites and then were relegated to be forgotten… Gente di Mare another typical example. My point is that unfortunately it will be extremely difficult for Italy to win because the voting patterns, especially from Northern Europe and Eastern European… Read more »
EscIta : Well said (WRITTEN)
I really want Italy to win the ESC sometime
in the near future but not this year though.
It’s just not the right timing moment
for Italy to win & host the EuroVision now.
I’m from Italy, i love Francesco Gabbani Song, it was a huge it in Italy even if Francesco is considered as a very low-profile singer/artist here in Italy. It’s a typical song the we call “tormentone” in Italy but I don’t believe Francesco will have a huge career here. But i don’t think it could win for some reasons – Eurovision Song Contest is not an important show in Italy. The Audience is usually quite low (The audience share of the final is usually ower than 15% while for example Sanremo festival is about 50%) – Italians see Eurovision Song… Read more »
Italy is overrated af by OGAE, I think that an avrage viewer will think the spng is nice, but they won’t vote for it, juries will not love it as well. I think this will finish below Francesca, she was cute but he is annoying for, nithing personal I just don’t like his “charisma”.
All I can see here are big envious people!!!
Italy is the favourite and for many reasons!
I can accept it is not your favourite song, but anybody can deny his charisma, the genius lyrics and his massive success!!
So please, try to deal with it. Writing this hate comments you just proof how envious and pathetic you are!!
@Hi im against Italy too but I think that the hype is too big to lose.Anyway if we have a surprise winner it will be Sweden or Bulgaria.
ITALY: 100.000.000 views in youtube…..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We have the winnerrrrrrrrrr……….!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ROME 2018 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’d love Italy to host for the slightly wrong reasons. When RAI hosted in 1991, it was a mess of a show. Imagine that again! lol
“Mr. Neff!! Mr. Neff!”
? R O M E 2 0 1 8 ?
I love when people already talk about which city in Italy the contest will be held next year! Be careful.. it can mean bad luck. Just don’t say too much in advance.
I’m surprised about Australia. I’m sure Ogae Sweden will give Isaiah points 😀 We love Australia!
Well of course everyone will say that Italy
will gonna win the Eurovision.
When this scenario is by 99% almost certain possibility, because of all this huge hype that Italy has been getting since San Remo.
BUT of course this doesn’t mean that
we must want necessarily Italy to win the ESC though. At least many of us…
Italy is not even in my top20 alone
but I WOULD bet my money on Italy
to win the EuroVision..
And who ever may asks me which country (most likely) will gonna win, then i will say : ITALY.
Don’t know what’s more annoying: The fangirls wooing over Italy as if it’s the best thing ever, or the trollboys who go on and on about how overrated the song is. What’s even worse is the comment section getting overflown about how good ir bad Italy is, even if the topic isn’t related to it. The Contest is bigger than Italy, your constant bickering lessens the value over the song. As for the Contest, the OGAE confirms nothing apart from the fact that everybody has the same favourites. It’s a bit unfair to vote on just the songs, we need… Read more »
@Bella. Its a lott of people who dont like and are tierd of Iraly. Maybe you dont regad the negativ; inly tge posirivw about Italy. Its so mutch about Italt ib wiwibligg. I wonder if Italy is the only land in ESC this year.
none of my top 5 are doing that good
1. Austria
2. UK
3. Finland
4. Bulgaria
5. Belgium
I just can’t get into Italy’s song I hope all my favourites make it into the final apart from UK which is already there
As i live in Rome i hope that Rai TV orginize Eurovision 2018 in Roma.
Turin and Milan would be good choices but as Rome has more population it would be a fairer choice.
Thanks Hungary for our first point! I hope we give you points with our voting!
Its gonna be like 2015. Otaöt gonna win, ans Sweden 2nd. In the real final Sweden gonna be tge winner, Belgium 2nd amd Italy 3rd. Its so many people who are tierd of Italy.
@ Polegend Godgarina
Yes, if Italy wins it will be Milan or Turin. They might give to Rome because of the “olympic attempt”, but I don’t think so.
Hopefully #Turin2018.
Points from OGAE Hungary
1 point goes to Australia
2 points go to FYR Macedonia
3 points go to Bulgaria
4 points go to Azerbaijan
5 points go to Israel
6 points go to Estonia
7 points go to Sweden
8 points go to France
10 points go to Italy
12 points go to Belgium!
There’ll be no such thing as “Rome 2018” because if we win it’ll be either Milan or Turin (and for the sake of the Eurofans, Rome is one big tourist scam full of trash).
Portugal, after years(8 I believe) of not receiving any points at the OGAE voting, has now 9. Not much, yes, but still better than before. And here I was expecting Spain to be the only one possibly giving them points, but Finland, a Nordic country, is the one who has given Salvador the most amount of points so far.
@UK17 first of all, it’s Hungary, not Hungry. Second, I get that you don’t like the song, but that doesn’t mean that it’s bad. Personally I don’t like the UK’s song, but that’s only my taste and it doesn’t make it a bad song. I get your dislike, just don’t be rude about it, ok?
Given that Luxembourg aren’t participating this year, I don’t think their votes would necessarily indicate anything significant. Although it’s looking like it’ll be Rome 2018.
Italy is going to win, no doubt. I’m preparing myself for Rome or Milan 2018!
Verona aka the best song of the year is slaying your poir faves <3
@UK17: Maybe because the UK song is super bland? Can’t even remember how it goes… I’m pretty sure not even the Brits listen to it (actually I just checked and indeed, it’s nowhere to be seen on the chart top 100). So if there’s a lack of enthusiasm for Eurovision in the UK, it’s probably because you guys don’t even like your own entries (so don’t act surprised that the rest of Europe doesn’t like them either). The UK probably has the best music industry in the world, but at Eurovision you just send talented artists (most of the time)… Read more »
Yessss!!! Keep going Francesco!!!! You deserve it this year!!! The best by far!
Let’s the dream come true!! ????????
@ Racal – hahaha, agree with you, high rating of Estonia is beyond me 😀
Better than France, Portugal..Macedonia.. Denmark, Bulgaria…? Come on guys! 😀
Given the top 10, as of right now, it seems the OGAE people have excellent taste in music. It remains to be seen how this will hold up in the end.
“Verona”, outdated and cheesy? What would that make Estonia’s 2015 entry, which is reminiscent of many late-1960s tunes, and yet Elina and Stig finished 7th?
That Estonian cheesefest in 4th place… ? Who listens to that? What is wrong with the world?!
LOL. No idea how Estonia managed to have such a high amount of points. The song is outdated and cheesy. It’s written in the stars that this Verona thing is going to be a fanwank!
Aww, my two favourite persons of this year ESC in this photo, nice <3 < 3 <3
Guys please relax. It’s still too early
when only 6 ogae clubs have voted so far.
We still have 39 more clubs to vote!
At this point we only know the winner (Italy)
& the rest TOP 2 – 3 – 4 – 5 (Sweden,Belgium, France & Estonia)
The rest top10 (6th-10th) is still unknown.
Especially the top15 – 20.
Countries that have got either few or none points at all, are still expected to finish with plenty points at the end of the voting.
I expect over 30-35+ countries to receive point(s) by the end of the ogae voting.
Every time i listen “Dance Along” its reminds me “Kate Bush-Running up that Hill”
Good to see a song like City Lights finally being recognized for this of fans.
Ogae and many fans never realized about huge modern Hits like “If I were sorry” or “Rhythm inside” until the contest.
