This weekend she’ll perform in Madrid at the Eurovision Pre-Party Spain on April 15. But before she boards the plane to Spain, France‘s Eurovision 2017 act Alma took time out to hit the French capital Paris to shoot her postcard – the short clip that introduces each act before they perform on stage.
On an idyllic rooftop overlooking Paris’s iconic Eiffel Tower, the French starlet posed for a cute snap, which France 2’s Eurovision France Twitter page shared earlier today, teasing that the postcard shoot was underway.

Alma herself was cagier than the official France Eurovision page, sharing a thoughtful Instagram of herself and the Eiffel tower:
Fans of Alma will be aware that Paris and the Eiffel Tower played a big part in the music video for “Requiem”.
And it also features on the wiwibloggs “Embrasse-moi” t-shirt, which Alma officially approved prior to its release.
The clip largely featured the French singer working quirky dance moves in the Parisian streets, while couples dance on buildings, but also featured multiple shots of the Parisian skyline.
Alma’s Road to Eurovision
As mentioned Alma is slated to appear in Madrid this weekend at the Eurovision Pre-Party Spain and from there she’ll start her journey to Kyiv in earnest.
“Requiem” has been on a significant tour of Europe, taking in five countries while also being performed domestically in France at the Moulin Rogue as part of the Sidaction telethon raising funds in support of HIV/AIDS charities.
Alma follows in the footsteps of last year’s France Eurovision act Amir. This year the showman will be back in action at Eurovision, acting as the French commentator.
Last year his song “J’ai Cherché” took France back to the top 10, ranking sixth overall once televoting and jury scores were combined.
Do you think Alma can improve on France’s result last year? Are you excited to see this year’s postcards? Let us know in the comments below!
I’m curious to see how the postcards will be at the end. From what we’ve seen so far, I think we’ll have sth like last year, following each artist in his/her country.
I love this view of the Eiffel Tower from the roof! Jealous!
However, I believe Alma is Lyonnaise so she could shoot the postcard in her home city (as Italy does).
It doesn’t bother me at all to see the Eiffel Tower though!
France have only Paris, dont have other city?
While ‘Requiem’ isn’t my favourite ESC entry this year, I have completely fallen for Alma. She sings well, is so beautiful and has such a fun personality. I have a total girl crush on her.
Francesco had shooting for the postcard in Carrara (his city where he was born) So I hope he is not the only one who is NOT showing capital city, sights etc. Something really creative would be great.
So the postcard is going to show her in front of the Eiffel Tower. Well, thats… expectable.
Seriously, I don’t really have high hopes for the postcards this year. We’re gonna see Francesco in front of the Colloseum, Levina at the Brandenburg Gate, Triana Park in front of the Tr?s br??i, Lucie at some random tourist landmark in London and Anja is probably going to pose as Little Mermaid…
Is it true that the national broadcasters shoot the postcards themselves this year?
@Joe
Haha right, I thought it too…
@eve, EIFFEL TOWER is the symbol of FRANCE all around the world, no question of originality or not, it’s like that, for a postcard representing France it’s logic, moreover the eiffel tower appears too in requiem’s videoclip so your ironic comment is useless or just to show a little bit of jealousy from you….
Eiffel tower for postcard? How original 😛
I think we can now discern that the postcard theme for this year is basically “landmarks”, especially with the footage we saw with Yulia and Laura+Koit Toome. Now just waiting for Lucie with the Big Ben/Houses of Parliament, Levina with the Brandenburg Gate, Nathan at the Schöbrunn Palace, Francesco with the Colosseum, Isaiah with the Sydney Opera House….
Paris is so beautiful, the eiffel tower is so elegant, ALMA is so beautiful and elegant and why not PARIS2018

of course she can do better than 6th, she can even win!
@Interesuje in the past 24 hours we’ve published stories on Spain, Austria, Serbia, Portugal, Italy, Sweden and Ireland 🙂
As for Alma and her postcard she looks beautiful and so does Paris. J’adore!
I know what Graham Norton will comment about this…
@Interesuje I feel saltiness
