She’s one of the youngest competitors at this year’s Eurovision — and she’s carrying some of the biggest expectations.
But Belgium’s Blanche is keeping her feet on the ground and her enthusiasm up, as she proved while talking to wiwiblogger Bernardo at the recent Eurovision PreParty Spain event in Madrid.
“I’m really excited because we’re getting closer to Kyiv and I can’t wait to be there,” the 17-year-old told us inside the lavish Melia Galos Hotel. “And I can’t imagine that in, like, two or three weeks I’m gonna leave and go to Kyiv.”
Blanche interview at Eurovision PreParty Spain
Despite performing her entry “City Lights” in London and Tel Aviv, this teen queen was still thrilled to deliver another live show in Spain.
“I’m excited because the place is really, really nice and it’s the last time before Kyiv. It’s strange to think it’s the last time I sing it like this.”
Even so, Blanche admitted that she’s glad the promotional phase is coming to an end: “At the pre-parties it was really hard for me because I feel I was here to meet people and not to give them something.”
“When I was on stage, I was more thinking about smiling to people and having eye contact than being in my song. In Kyiv I will have to be in my song.”
The Voice Belgique star did not reveal much about the staging she’ll present in Kyiv, but she did confirm that the job was almost done. “I’m almost ready,” she said. “We still have rehearsals in Brussels, but we have to be totally prepared.”
Blanche’s message to Eurovision fans was short and simple: “Belgium is a beautiful country, so if you want to come visit next year, you have to vote for me!” Let’s do this!
Blanche interview at London Eurovision Party
Speaking about her song “City Lights” in London, ahead of the London Eurovision Party earlier this month, the teen songstress said: “I’ve loved it from the beginning. It was one of the first songs I recorded.”
“It’s a love song. It talks about the period when you don’t really know what’s going on with the guy.”
Blanche confessed she was thinking about the guy while performing the song, but refused to give any more away. “It’s private, I don’t want him to see that!”

She seems like a really sweet girl and it’s a decent song but the live performance was just so lacking….she seemed so nervous and afraid. Maybe it’s cause she is so young?
Either way good luck Blanche!
here is her live performance at the Voice Belgique: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqLZvWPDHgM
SHE IS SO SWEET! I HOPE SHE WILL WIN WITH HER AMAZING CITY LIGHTS! <3
Go to see The voice Belgique
Blanche just did a wonderful performance on stage ????????????????????
it wasn’t very convincing… she looks so nervous. she needs to pull things together.. i hope 3 weeks will be enough.
Lana Del Rey wanna be. Yes, I like this song because I love Lana Del Rey, but this song is zero originality.
She can sing, she looks good, but she should find her way in music without copying a style!
Her live is amazing. What the hell are people talking about? She’s on point, sounds nearly identical as the studio version, look at her performance in Spain.
Lmao her voice is amazing live… Guys wait until May and then we can say if its good or not. Goodluck Blanche! We believe in you! <3
Yeah and it also would have been helpful if she didn’t use a lot of fire, gold costumes and half-naked man for a song that doesn’t fit to these – I almost threw up from Samra’s performance last year, I was so pissed off it went to the final instead of Greta, and my country’s televoters also gave her 12 points D:
Hope Blanche will make a fitting and decent performance 🙂
I liked Samra a lot though 😉
Me too, but with those vocals and that staging, she should have not reach the final.
Blanche, I’m so proud of you my girl! I really hope you’re gonna win this year so we can finally have a second eurovision party in Belgium. Let’s do this!
She will win juries votes but with televote she wili be out of TOP 5 in final. My prediction with points from juries and televote , she will finish at 2nd place in final
I love her accent.
Good luck Blanche
Belgium is all behind you
Your song is beautiful and shining
Orly 17 years old ,you do a great and wonderful job ????????

What divisive comments so far!
I’m glad Blanche is singing about someone specific – I think that’s the right way to approach the song, musically. I’m really looking forward to her semi-final performance.
Plagiarism
I thought we passed that phase
Me too.
Great voice, great song!!
She is not gonna win, the song is too boring and depressing. Anyway good luck.
Totally agree! And in live performance it seems she can not afford all of those low notes!!
The best song this year.
