Italy’s Francesco Gabbani has already secured first place in the OGAE Poll 2017 with his impossible-to-beat total, but the votes continue to be revealed. The race for second and third place — and beyond — is on. Next up with points are OGAE Belgium and OGAE UK.

First to reveal their votes was OGAE Belgium. They’re unable to vote for their homegirl Blanche, but their top points went to other big favourites. Twelve points to Italy, ten points to Sweden and eight points to neighbouring France. At the other end of Belgium’s top ten, they also had two points for Cyprus and one point for Australia — it all adds up!

Next was one of the bigger fan clubs, OGAE UK. They gave 12 points to Italy, ten points to Estonia and eight points to Belgium. Surprisingly, the UK had two points for the Netherlands. This brings OG3NE’s total to three points and now ensures they won’t be at the bottom of the scoreboard.

In the overall scoreboard, Italy‘s winning total has now reached over 400 — 407 points, to be exact. For contrast, last year’s winner France clocked up 425 points, but Amir received far fewer lots of 12 points than what Francesco has been receiving this year.

In second place is Belgium on 272 points, and Sweden is very closely behind on 270 points. But most importantly, OGAE Sweden is still to reveal their voting. They won’t be able to vote for Robin Bengtsson, so Belgium could hold their lead.

In fourth place is France with 227 points, and further away in fifth place is Estonia with 192 points.

I think Italy will win the televotes IF the majority of of the votes will come from really devoted Eurovision fans. But if the majority of televoters comes from viewers that listen at the song for the first time can it be another song!

I think Italy will get high points from some juries, but not that high from many countries in the noth of europé.

Vad säger ni svenskar? Är Italiens låtar något för personer som kollar på ESC men aldrig hört låten?

I didn’t think we would give points to Estonia, thought we had better taste than dated, cheesy songs like this- it’s meant to be popular in Europe not here ???? I hope the televoters buck the eurofan trend.

I’m glad that France got a good position but I think it is better than Belgium Sweden and even Italy! Hungary and Belarus are my faves and to low for me…and I am glad that Portugal hit the top ten in this poll but I think it should be higher like…number one. Oh well, we shall see how the actual results compare.

I think that France got a really good song this year. It doesen’t matter that I dumt understand. But I think that many like Italy for wath it want to say. Well actually, I try to understand way so many think it’s the best song, and than I thought that must be it. But I can be wrong.

I have been watching ESC since 1990 and I have never missed a year ever since.
The top 10 will not look like you predict people.
Last year I have predicted from the beginning that Ukraine will win. I have predicted the same for Conchita when the song came out. That was months before the competition.
This year there is no stand out song unfortunately.
Dark horse for me this year is Iceland. Shame will not be sung in the native language though.

@ Mar – ”Okay so Amir currently has the record of points in the OGAE poll (425)”

IMHO the only difference between Amir and Francesco is that Italians are more crazy and pushy than French.
I love Italy and F. Gabbani is their new God, but still…for the rest of Europe, Francesco is not greater than Amir.

Don’t confuse? Italians with fans of Francesco. Italians in general care very little for Eurovision, just like the French.
I loved Amir last year, just like I love Francesco now, but he flopped live and he had Sergei’s shadow chasing him. That’s not the case this year.

We are trying hard till we came back.
In seven years we have reached top ten 5 times, being second in 2011 and third in 2015.

Who said? @Mar in the comment above.
I’m tired of all the countries that don’t care until they gain some points and after that they start to care.
They are too proud to be seen struggling.
They play cool and pretend not to care.

Okay so Amir currently has the record of points in the OGAE poll (425), which I was surprised to learn considering bigger fan favourites like Il Volo, Rybak, Loreen and Emmelie didn’t break the 400 mark. One thing I did notice is that the previous three years the competition was a lot closer, like Amir only getting 30 or so more points than Sergei and same thing with Il.Volo and Måns. In the years when there was a big gap between second and first place, the winner of OGAE usually went on to win the actual contest. At this rate,… Read more »

Let the rehearsals start (Sunday). At least will be something real to talk about and even the predictions will be about performance, the whole act.
Right now nobody knows anything. This esc bubble is really a bubble, with no clue about outside world.
Is Wiwibloggs in Kyiv now? Because delegations will start to arrive.
I want news about that, not another clueless predictions.

The UK OGAE results look like they have been taken from Polegend’s wishlist! 😀 I think now is an appropriate time to ask seriously about the “OGAE.” Are there any members of it (preferably in the UK) who comment here and can explain more about what it does? There’s a copy of their constitution on their UK website, and an explanation of their membership process. It all seems very awkward to me – actually the subscription seems to pay for its “Vision” magazine, and requires electronic photo ID for seemingly no reason. The link to their Facebook page also seems… Read more »

I feel like a terrible amateur and I should know this, but can anyone confirm if juries vote 50:50 in semis as well as final? I seem to recall at some point that semis were full televote but the jury could save one entry? Any help much appreciated.

Hi! The semi’s used to be full televote back in ’08 and ’09 with the 10th place save but since 2010 both the semi’s and the final have used the 50/50 combination and I’m assuming that would stay the same this year as no announcement about changes to the voting have been made!

Yeah, yeah, sure.
You can clearly see how much they disliked the italian song at the London Eurovision Party.
And for Estonia: they appreciate it because the lyrics are quite nice, with a strong shakespearean reference, why Brits shouldn’t like it? It wold have be strange otherwise. 🙂

If all the remaining countries give 12 points to Italy, or if seven give 12 points and one gives 10, Italy will surpass 500 points in total. I’m expecting sets of 12 from all the remaining country, maybe except for Poland and Sweden which will probably be more Belgium-oriented. Still, a resounding victory, I’m expecting something similar from the televote in Kiev – a massive gap between Francesco and the 2nd placed’s televote points.

492 Points are possible in May. Russia is out and Italy cant vote for Italy. So 41 countries x 12 Points. But that´s unrealistic. but 400+ for sure

This ogae votes boring, it’s as if eurovision song contest all about voting. ..aren’t we following musical event the biggest show that unite nations for peace and love….it’s SAD to bring too many articles praising and giving credits to some that discredits others, you publish too many articles about agaes more than the artists and songs and this is getting ridiculous. ..OK italy is winner in all polls and betting whatever. Change eurovision song contest to eurovision ogae contest or betting ot voting contest lol. ..
