She’s the Serbian Eurovision 2011 star who’s spent the past few years studying down under. But with her PHD almost complete, Nina Radojicic — or simply Nina — is eyeing up a return to music.
She tested the waters with the well received “Colors Of My Love” last summer, and now she’s gone a step further by declaring her desire to make a Eurovision comeback. However, there’s a twist — this time she wants to represent Australia!
The “Caroban” songstress made the remarks while participating in a Post-Eurovision Blues discussion panel at the University of Sydney on Thursday.
If you ask me, I would participate as well again. With Australia, why not?
Should her dreams come true, she would be the first European to represent the Antipodean nation. Of course, plenty of Australians have already done the reverse and sung for European countries. Just this year, Aussie singer Anja Nissen took Denmark — the land of her parents — back to the grand final after a two year absence.
Her comments came in response to the panel’s concluding questions — Do you see a bright future? Do you see a global event?
And not only does Nina want to return, she’s an advocate for the much debated Worldvision.
I would change it to WorldVision. If we get China to participate as well… and the US is already in there so… I think it’s going to get bigger, because this sort of music festival is the top for a music artist. And I think everyone will want to participate.
Nina’s remarks echo those of Eurovision 2016 interval performer Justin Timberlake. Speaking last summer, he said “In my opinion there should also be a Worldvision to let everybody in on the fun.”
Worldvision or not, Nina’s clearly a massive Eurofan, even if she does need to do a little homework regarding the exact extent of America’s involvement in the contest.
It’s definitely an amazing thing and it links people through music which is a wonderful thing. If you ask me, it’s going to get bigger and bigger and even more awesome!
You can watch Nina’s comments in the video below, starting at approximately the 1 hour and 15 minute mark.

Eurovision may be over less than a week, but the campaign for 2018 is already well under way.
Noughties pop star Samantha Mumba has said she’d “LOVE” to sing for Ireland in Portugal, Malta has confirmed details of its national final, while France is rumoured to host its first national selection since 2014. So much for down-season!
Are y’all ready for a Nina comeback? Should she represent Australia or Serbia? And what about Worldvision? Let us know in the comments below.
No WorldVision!! I support EuroVision, but no freaking way I’ll back up WorldVision! America is not invited!
Get Canada and Mexico in there first. They’re more European than today’s America.
As an American and Mexican: WorldVision can happen as a crown on top of other continental/mega-national contests, but “Heck No” to evolving it out of EuroVision. I mean, does anyone making this suggestion ever even WATCH the actual Olympics? It’s endlessly cut-throat hyper-competitive political jockeying among the superpowers, and everyone else gets trampled underneath and hopes for scraps and occasional moments to shine. To paraphrase Sweden 2017, it will be China v Russia v US every single “fricking” year, all of them throwing absurd budgets and development efforts at their submissions, and everyone else having to play that game to… Read more »
Wow, Nina has changed a lot since 2011! I wasn’t aware of her being in Australia! I have to say I’m confused in these situations, where an artist is able to participate with two countries. Nina represented Serbia, how can she represent Australia now? Is it related to citizenship? Usually I’m in favour of new singers coming to Eurovision and not the same 2 and 3 times. But, yeah, I would love to see Nina back to Eurovision. Why not? However, I won’t agree on Worldvision. Eurovision is a music song contest where European countries take part. The more countries… Read more »
The United Kingdom was represented by Olivia Newton-John back in 1974, and Gina G in 1996. However, both of them are from Australia. Canadian singer Céline Dion won for Switzerland in 1988. American band Katrina and the Waves won for the UK in 1997. In other words, if anyone outside of Europe wants to complete at Eurovision Song Contest one day, they’ll have to represent a European country, as long as they’re of European heritage and at least 16 years of age. 😉
There’s nothing about ‘European heritage’ in there, nor should thre be. THere’s also absolutely no requirement acts are linked to the country they represent – this was a big thing for Luxembourg and Monaco in the past, and the most recent example that comes to mind is Serhat who hadn’t even visited San Marino before being announced as their representative next year.
i love eurovision but if one day it turn to so called worldvision .i stop to watch it !!!!

I hate anyone who supports Worldvision
I like everyone who hates me.
🙂
Same. They made Eurovision. And Eurovision only…..
No please no Worldvision. In Eurovision even Australia was a mistake. You should only invite European countries(okay Israel is in every competition that European countries are.) Only countries that you should invite are: Kazakhstan(has parts of it in Europe and I would love to see their culture)and Liechtenstein, and I would love to see Scotland, England, Northern Ireland and Wales as seperate countries as in football or something, with them also Faroe Islands apart from Denmark. Than I reallly really want Turkey, Slovakia, Bosnia and Herzegovina back with also micro-states. Kosovo participation would be cool, but I don’t think it’s… Read more »
That’s ridiculous that’s too big and Northern Ireland is not it’s own country because parts of the North belong to Ireland so forget that unless you actually want to spark more political unrest.
Yes Kosovo and Kazakhstan are the next countries to debut also have a feeling that Slovakia will return in 2018
I guess the main reason against a ‘Worldvision’ is the expense. It isn’t cheap putting together a contest ready song, let alone the cost of hosting if you win.
Would be great to get America in – even though, according to Nina, they’re already there!
I don t want Worldvision instead Eurovision, EBU made mistake when they invite 2015 Australia.
China will be another Russia, in almost every country they have huge diaspora. USA will be push so hard like Australia in voting.
Kazahstan will gave every year 24 points to Russia , 20,18… to other ex soviet union countries.
Worldvision only if we had Eurovision, Asia Australia vision, America visiion, Africavision, and TOP 5 for all contest go to Worldvision conest with 20 countries
I second this. A Worldvision would be interesting and amazing but just as a Crown on Top of the Continental Song Competitions. The Winner of Eurovision competes against the Winner of Americavision, Asiavision and so on. Otherwise smaller european Countries would stand no Chance against such an amount of Megacountries like USA or China standing against them.
I’m very against the idea of a worldvision contest
I would *love* to have Nina competing in a national final to select Australia’s next act, and she just might win it. She’s a great performer, just needs a great song and Aussie will get behind her in Lisbon 🙂
(Yes, that’s my way of saying no more gosh darn internal selections of X Factor acts)
Only Australia shouldn’t be in Eurovision at all. That’s a joke.
The only countries I’d like to see in the Eurovision are the ones in Europe’s sphere influence – that includes Liechtenstein, Lebanon and Kazakhstan among the ones that haven’t entered yet. PERIOD.
whoo hey nina love u gurl melbourne represent 🙂
Australia is a continent on its own and the most racist when it comes to immigration. You shouldn’t be rewarded, stop trying to butt in, unless you intend on joining Europe officially, stay out of Europe’s song contest.
We can’t have more countries participating, cause there are limits and it would become too much. Currently there is room for only 43/44 countries maximum that is practically doable. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGmvpYjh7b8 2:32) wich means that there isn’t even room for all European countries participating. So I think this could easily be fixed by each continent having their own contest in the end, and a ‘Worldvision’ that overlapse all the continental contests so that every country that wins their continental contest qualifies for the ‘Worldvision’
If you want a Worldvision, do it separate from Eurovision. I very much agree on what the others said. There’s a long road to get there. Eurovision will continue existing, and if the other continents do the same song contest then the top acts from every continent should compete in Worldvision. Let’s Say: Top 13 acts from Eurovision (all the left side scoreboard acts) Top 9 acts from “Asiavision” Top 8 acts from “Africavision” Top 7 acts from “Americavision” Top 3 acts from “Oceaniavision” We get a total of 40 countries which can easily compete in two semifinals, resulting in… Read more »
I like Eurovision just fine, thank you.
Having said that, no problem with Nina coming back. Caroban was great and would have been top five if she had performed it in English!
Hell no, English would’ve killed the magic of the song.
Have you heard the English version? “Magical”?
It was really good!
I personally don’t have problems by having more countries in the contest. However, we should remember that more countries means tougher competition. So the smallest countries will struggle to much (as they already do) to qualify. In the Grand Final, they will disappear among the big nations. In addition to that, imagine Russia, US and China in the competition (now add Australia, Japan, Brazil, Canada…). We will see a very political and very tough contest. So…NO…I’m against the Worldvision. Instead, what about having a competition in each continent. The Eurovision winner could be the guest act in the “Americanvision”, and… Read more »
I for one would be curious to see the North Korean entry!
Worldvision… what a joke hahah , yeah destoy everything with U.S and China , we already have Australia , enough is enough , keep it traditional and “simple”
“WorldVision” could work if the EBU lightens up on participation requirements and sets a limt of 65 Countries Per Edition. If that were to happen you’ll have countries like Kazakstan Algeria The US of A (Holla William) Any Pan-Asian Country Including Australia and others like: China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, VIETNAM Honey!! It would bring so much more culture and more of that Ethno-pop realness that has been missing in the contest since Turkeys Withdrawal in 2013, give more foriegn language songs a bigger spotlight (and I know that Portugal won ESC this year with a song completely in… Read more »
NO to Worldvision!! Too big, unfair on European countries, especially the smaller ones that many forget even exist. Countries like America, Australia and China should work out a singing contest among themselves. Their nations are too big and frankly, they aren’t our problem to accommodate. Can we just preserve the one good European thing we all share and stop trying to cause a war!!
New Big 5 would be then UK, US, Australia, South Africa and China then I Guess 😉
I don’t think if there’s a big 5 the U.K. Will be a part of it. They always say when they have bad results that Europe hates them. And this year before the contest they already planned their excuse if Lucie had a bad place it’s because of brexit.
Worldvision: If it’s trimmed down it could work. Every single country in the world taking part in one event would be impossible to manage. Not to mention that the broadcast itself would be as long as Eurovision week itself. But if they split it, it could work. Let every continent have it’s own Vision, like Eurovision, Asiavision, Africavision, Southamericavision, USA-Canadavision, Latinvision and Oceanicvision. Or similar. Have each continent organize their own contest and then the top 3 from each contest go on to compete in the Worldvision. That could work and would only last marginally longer in time than the… Read more »
You forgot to mention the region where this might work the best, CaribbeanVision. Just 13 countries in a fairly compact region with limited political tensions, Cuba apart.
I agree with that idea
But it should be only 5 blocks:
Eurovision(5)
Asiavision(5)
Africavision(5)
Amerivision(mainland south and north America)(4)
Oceanivision( the islands of the pacific carribean and Indian oceans) (3)
So we have a grand final of 22 countries
They should let all the countries of the world compete, but it should still be called ‘Eurovision’ as that’s the brand we know and love.
No they shouldn’t because that’s extremely unfair to small European countries and America would always win.
