He dazzled viewers with his outrageous performance in the first semi-final in Kyiv. Now Montenegrin diva Slavko Kalezic has moved on to even bigger things. He’s starring in a promo video for the new series of The X Factor UK.
The promo, which aired during the grand final of reality hit series Love Island, is the first glimpse that UK viewers have been given of the 2017 series of The X Factor. And fans of Slavko won’t be disappointed — he is the only auditionee to feature in the video.
The 20-second video stars Slavko performing Beyonce’s 2012 single “End of Time”. Fans of the Montenegrin artist may recognise the song from his audition on X Factor Adria in 2013. And his UK audition performance seems to have made just as much an impression on the judges.
Starting with an energetic “You ready?!”, Slavko peps up the judges and instantly puts a smile on Simon Cowell’s face. Improving on his X Factor Adria performance, Slavko has brought along his Eurovision power braid, and proceeds to whip it around, “Space” style.
Judges Sharon Osborne, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger are also shown to be wowed by Slavko’s high energy performance. Being a classically trained actor, the Montenegrin artist is able to bring energy to his performance and totally electrify the room.
From the “End of Time” to “Space”
Earlier in the year, William and Deban reviewed Slavko’s performance of “End of Time” for X Factor Adria.
Our wiwi duo were blown away by Slavko’s swagger, and noted that he had most of the judges up on their feet and dancing.
William commented, “You have to be bold and brave to show up to an X Factor Adria audition with that kind of swagger and originality.” Deban added, “He gets it!”
“End of Time” has become a signature song for Slavko. He gave a special performance at his Eurovision PreParty Spain performance, wowing the Madrid audience with his combination of Queen Bey, his power braid and a revealing sheer bodysuit.
Slavko is best known for his outrageous performance of club banger “Space” at Eurovision 2017. While the song did not make it out of the semi-final, it won over fans and has become an iconic hit from Kyiv.
The X Factor UK has discovered future Eurovision performers such as Ruth Lorenzo, Jedward and Lucie Jones. But it’s also given a second chance to performers such as Saara Aalto, whose unsuccessful attempt in the 2016 Finnish national final eventually led to her placing second in the 2016 series of The X Factor UK. Will Slavko follow in her footsteps?
Series 14 of The X Factor UK will begin in August. Stay tuned for full coverage of Slavko’s X Factor journey.
I have seen and heard Slavko up close. Actually, he does have a powerful mid-range vocal, he just doesn’t have either the opportunity or the training to utilise it fully. His body is exceptional, but, he will tell you that he has a typical body for a Balkan man (of course). 🙂 What I like about The X Factor (UK) nowadays: Going more international and “diverse” flies in the face of xenophobic viewers and other haters in the UK. This I approve of. 🙂 What I don’t like about The X Factor nowadays: The obviously fake auditioning process. Surely now… Read more »
When I say Slavko you say G! Slavko G! Slavko! G! #way_past_shark_jumping
Well, X-Factor is terrible, and so is Slavko. I don’t think I’ll miss much by not watching him.
He passed the audition before Eurovision. Auditions at XFactor are organized months before they are broadcasted. The guy is just ridiculous. He doesn’t have any talent except trying to be a diva. I mean, let’s be honest. He’s irrelevant.
His performance in X Factor Adia was better and seemed more natural since he looked like an everyday person. Not really liking the recent seasons lately where the auditionees all look polished already. Miss those days when I watched ppl like Lucie Jones walked in looking like that girl next door.
the new saraa aalto.
The X Factor is for new talents who need an outlet to shine. So it is not fair for other contestants who have the stardom to interfere as if he/she is a new upcoming talent. Someone who has already sang in Eurovision representing his country should now apply to the “UK X Factor” for some publicity. Slavko Kalezic is such a case, X Factor is a sort of a downgrade for him as an artist rather than an upgrade. It is also embarrassment for him. If Slavko wants to be a star in Britain, let him release a single or… Read more »
”should be absolute clarity during competitions about the past successes of the contestants to make it a fair game for everybody. .”
Agree with that. And contestants should be citizens of the country, it’s logical if the name of the country is in the name of the show.
If I know that somebody from Eurovision will go to a talent show afterwards, I would never vote for that person in Eurovision.
“our site blah blah blah”, so this is basically a huge pile of spam.
He’s disgusting, but that’s exactly why they’re gonna keep him around. I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up first boot after live shows begin. Fingers crossed he won’t even pass the audition though.
Obviously neither the non qualification nor the Barbara Dex award could stop him from trying…with the hair extension
The XFactor is total garbage. I have lost respect for Slavko for having anything to do with it.
He’s being ridiculous now….. when is he going to understand that you can’t pretend to be a diva when you can’t sing!!! He should work in cabarets. Drag shows. Something freaky 50’s style. That’s all.
I read somewhere it will be the cheapest contest in the last year(cost wise), I’m not sure if that’s good or not?
About the article… I’m mad about the fact that Eurovision stars have to participate in X-factor, Got Talent’s, The Voice… I understand JESC’s stars tho.
Most of the time, those talents show is where the recent ESC stars came to be before joining Eurovision, usually not the other way around.
It’s nice to know the Wiwiteam doesn’t forgive a man when there is homophobia in a country participating in Eurovision, but when it’s about xenophobia, it’s as if it doesn’t exist!
yeah….heterophobia seems legit though!
Seems some fans deny the fact there are many straight fans…they want ESC only to be their own pink bubble
THAT is heterohpbia!
Stop, I agree. But this article doesn’t complain about (socalled!) “Homophobia”, does it? But I agree some fans overuse it for no reason….If you stress out there are many straight fans, you are “homophobic”. Ridiculous of course.
LOL….He really added fuel to all silly stereotypes people had of ESC: They performance….the lyrics…awful!! BUT I actually DID like his ESC-song. Such “Gay anthems” is usually a big no no for me in ESC! But one should of course always be fair, and jugde every song on individual basis….And not get to worked up on “principial / ethical /esthestical views”. HOWEVER……I am a lover of old school funk (like many music styles..I am generally a big musiclover). i can real some real musiciality, under all the “pink cheese”. He is influenced by 70s funk. And I LOVE the brass… Read more »
Love him

Yes. Yes. Yes.
I haven’t watched X Factor since 2010 but I’m not going to miss his fabulousness.
