During her stunning Eurovision 2017 performance, the United Kingdom’s Lucie Jones let the world know she would never give up on her beloved.
And on Sunday — three months after her boyfriend Ethan Boroian popped the question — the Welsh Queen finally said ‘I do’.
Wearing an ivory tulle gown designed by Charlotte Balbier, Lucie crowned her look with an ornamental headpiece that scraped her gorgeous locks away from her face, putting her angelic complexion on fine display.
Honouring her family’s roots, Lucie held the wedding in St David’s Church in the village of Miskin in Wales, inviting her close friends and the good-and-the-great of the village.
Anticipation has been building for months. On the Eurovision 2017 red carpet Lucie beamed when telling us about her upcoming nuptial. “I’m marrying my X Factor love!” she said.
And just last week the West End star shared an Instagram snap of her leaning on her man. ”One week until I do,” she wrote in the post to her 35,000 followers.
The Legally Blonde: The Musical headliner opened up to Hello! magazine after the ceremony.
“As soon as I saw Ethan, looking so dashing in his blue wedding suit, I started to well up.”
“Then the male voice choir started to sing our song, ‘God Only Knows’ by The Beach Boys, and an overwhelming feeling of intense emotion came over me.”
“Suddenly, every precious memory of our time together came flooding back and I couldn’t stop the tears. I felt so elated and knew that marrying him was the best thing I would ever do.”
Their love story had began exactly eight years ago, when they both auditioned for The X Factor.
Initially just friends, they stayed in touch and began dating five years later. Six days into their relationship Ethan — a French-American chef — decided that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Lucie and began filming a proposal video in November 2015.
In the video he holds up the words “Will”, “You”, “Marry” and “Me” in various locations where they holidayed and adds time stamps to show where they were during their relationship. These markers include Versailles (10 days together), Chicago (373 days together), and Rome (389 days together).
Given the time, effort and thought put into the proposal, we’re pretty sure Ethan will never give up on Lucie.

They are both lucky to find such love during this lifetime, especially that in this day and age people are so cold and nothing is handwritten.
