It’s one of the most anticipated national final line-up reveals of the season. Swedish broadcaster SVT has now confirmed that they will be revealed at a special presentation on Tuesday 28 November.

Following the announcement earlier this month of the Melfest 2018 host, SVT is now ready to unveil the acts who’ll be competing to represent their country in Lisbon in May. As is Melfest tradition, we’ll know the artists and their song titles but we won’t hear the tunes in question until Melodifestivalen rehearsals start in February.

Broadcaster SVT is again offering locals the opportunity to be in the audience during the presentation. Interested fans can register their interest here. There’s even the opportunity to win a Gold Pass, which will let a few lucky fans take a selfie (or a groupie) with their favourite Melfest 2018 stars.

The rest of us will be able to watch the live stream of the event on the official Melfest website.

Melodifestivalen 2018 will be presented by entertainer David Lindgren, who will be hosting solo.

Who will be competing at Melodifestivalen 2018?

Only one artist has been officially confirmed so far. That’s P4 Nästa winner Stiko Per Larsson. He also won the Melfest wildcard, which has guaranteed him a place in the semi-finals.

Rumours have been flying about potential acts for the 2018 line-up.

Samir & Viktor – the two-time Melfest stars are reported to be returning for a third time, and no doubt have a catchy party tune.

Benjamin Ingrosso, Felix Sandman, Méndez and Sigrid Bernson – the next group of rumoured acts included 2017 contestant Benjamin Ingrosso, ex FO&O singer Felix Sandman, two-time Melfest star Méndez, and Let’s Dance star Sigrid Bernson.

Alcazar, Ida Redig, John Lundvik, Olivia Eliasson – also said to be appearing are the schlager trio Alcazar (though they still haven’t got a song), singer-songwriter Ida Redig, royal wedding songwriter John Lundvik, and YouTube star Olivia Eliasson.

Kikki Danielsson and Martin Almgren – the next group of rumours feature country and schlager queen (and former Swedish Eurovision act) Kikki Danielsson, and 2015 Idol winner Martin Almgren.

Kamferdrops, Jonas Gardell, Renaida Braun and Kalle Moraeus – the most recent rumours acts were Norwegian electro-schlager artist Kamferdrops, comedy legend Jonas Gardel, Idol 2016 singer Renaida Braun and folk singer Kalle Moraeus.

That’s 16 acts, leaving 12 more to make up the full 28. We’ll learn how many of those 16 are correct and who else will be part of Melfest 2018 next Tuesday. Wiwibloggs will have full coverage of the big reveal.

I have to say I wonder what happened with the comment I posted? It was not offensive or anything, but Wiwiblogs deleted it twice. All I did was to explain why I wasn’t very happy with the singers confirmed so far. Can you please explain. Thanks?

Something technical (mistake) I suppose, but it has happened before, so I just became curious 🙂

I just wanted to point out it didn’t seem to be very musically diverse, few daring songs musically, rather generic etc. Not that interesting for me. Based on the singers chosen so far. But hopefully that is wrong

That aside, I will as usual follow the Melodifestivalen next year. For sure some of the songs will be good. As for the returns, I expect most of Mendez and Benjamin Ingrosso
