She’s just been confirmed as one of the judges of Ukraine’s 2018 national final, but today Jamala has revealed something even bigger for 2018 — motherhood. Jamala and her husband Bekir Suleimanov are expecting their first child. Jamala shared the happy news with fans on social media.
After rumours had been flying around Ukraine media, Jamala confirmed the news on her social media.
She posted a photo of her husband Bekir Suleimanov lovingly hugging his wife. Jamala wrote, “Of course, I would like to keep it secret and share the news only with those closest, but many have already guessed it. This is the greatest miracle in the world!”
It will be the first child for Jamala and Bekir. The long-term couple married earlier this year.
Bekir is an economist and mathematician, which initially made Jamala doubt their relationship. She explained, “At first I was very worried about how a musician may not be able to find something in common with mathematics. But he really helps me with his mathematical mind to understand what is happening in the music.”
2018 is going to be a busy year for Jamala. Yesterday Jamala was confirmed as one of the three judges for Ukraine’s 2018 national final. She’s also signed on for a second series as a coach on the Voice of Ukraine.
Jamala joins other Eurovision stars who have recently experienced the joys of motherhood. In 2015, Trijntje Oosterhuis revealed she was expecting her third child, soon after her participation in Eurovision. The following year, Ira Losco revealed she was pregnant with her first child just two days before she was due to perform in her semi-final. And earlier this year, Jana Burceska made history by revealing her pregnancy in her Eurovision postcard.
Wiwibloggs wishes Jamala and Bekir all the best on their wonderful news!
I did that but again I wish best for her family and light in the end for her pride.
Wonderful 🙂 Congrats Jamala!
Congratulations
Congratulations ?
Mashallah! So happy for the two of them (soon to be three!)
Congratulations, and while you are pregnant, stay away from pranksters like the one from esc. Those pranksters don’t think they can kill an unborn baby.
Yay! I’m so excited for Jamala and Bekir!
Wonderful news. Congrats sister!
