It’s his life! TVR announced earlier today that Romania‘s 2013 Eurovision representative Cezar Ouatu will host Selectia Nationala 2018 with actress Diana Dumitrescu. The two artists will present all five-semifinals and the National Final on 25 February.
While Cezar “The Voice” Ouatu is well known to Eurovision fans everywhere for his 2013 pop-opera-tastic performance of “It’s My Life”, Diana Dumitrescu is not. The Romanian actress is a fan of Eurovision, however, and admitted to watching Selectia Nationala since she was little.
Her father’s dream was to have her perform on the stage one day, but life took her in a different artistic direction. Nonetheless, the actress is excited to make it to the stage of Selectia Nationala, even as a presenter.
“Even though [my dad] is no longer among us, I am happy to fulfill one of his dreams and I hope to meet the viewers’ expectations,” the beautiful blonde told TVR.
Diana also has a YouTube channel and vlogs about her life and holidays, gives beauty tutorials and unboxes gifts. If she weren’t 34, we’d swear she’s a millenial!
Besides representing his country at Eurovision, Cezar also helped pick Ovidiu Anton as the Romanian act for Stockholm, as part of the national jury.
He’s also a staple of “Your Face Sounds Familiar”, which he won twice.
This year, he will be even more immersed in the Selectia Nationala competition. Together with Diana Dumitrescu, he will fly to five different cities for the semi-finals, and then to Bucharest for the National Final on 25 February.
His experience on the Eurovision stage however will unquestionably make him perfect for the national selection, and hopefully he will sing as well. “It is a challenge, an honour, and a pleasure to return to [the Eurovision] family,” Cezar Ouatu said.
