The action continues in Melodifestivalen 2018 as Sweden’s national selection for Eurovision moves to the city of Gothenburg — host city of the 1985 Eurovision Song Contest. Another seven acts are stepping out onto the stage for the second semi-final.
Before broadcaster SVT release snippets of all seven songs, we asked you on Tuesday which act you’re most looking forward to this weekend. Margaret came out on top in a landslide, with her entry “In My Cabana”. Poland’s “Cool Me Down” singer racked up a whopping 1,106 votes, that’s 45.35% of the overall votes.
Finishing at a distant second is Swedish Idol winner LIAMOO with “Last Breath”. He received 466 votes, 19.11% overall.
Returning duo Samir & Viktor took the bronze medal position with their entry “Shuffla”, picking up 372 votes, 15.25% of the overall votes.
Our team on the ground in the rehearsals described their entry as “think of LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem”.” There’s plenty of shuffling going on in the performance too. We can’t wait to see the clips!
As it stands, y’all have Mimi Werner down as the last act to qualify from the semi final. There’s a considerable gap between her and the three acts that follow — Ida Redig, Stiko per Larsson and Jonas Gardell.
