Full versions of three of the songs from Melodifestivalen 2018 have leaked hours ahead of the live broadcast of semi-final 3. Entries from Jessica Andersson, Barbi Escobar and Dotter have all been leaked online.

“Party Voice” was the first track leaked online, but versions of “Stark” and “Cry” have also circulated on Russian-based online social networking and social media service VK.

Screengrabs below show links to three-minute versions of both “Stark” and “Cry”, which have since been deleted.

All three leaks happened without the knowledge of the record label concerned Warner Music Sweden, which responding to Swedish tabloid Aftonbladet‘s request for information about the leak of “Party Voice” said: “We are not aware of this, and are trying to find out more information.”

“Party Voice” leaked through an app “Mega” and similar to “Cry” and “Stark” was also shared in a forum. Under Melodifestiavlen rules songs cannot be shared in their entirety before performance during the semi-finals.

SVT have been quick to respond to the leak of Jessica’s song, stating that she does not face disqualification, as the song was leaked unintentionally. It’s a similar situation to two years ago, when Molly Sandén’s song “Youniverse” was accidentally released through Amazon two weeks ahead of her semi-final.

This is the second scandal to rock Melodifestivalen this year, after it emerged Semi-Final 1 act Kamferdrops’ song “Solen lever kvar hos dig” had been available online performed by a different artist since 2009.

Despite the potentially damaging leak, Jessica is determined to fight on and make her “Party Voice” heard tonight from Malmö.

Camilla Bjering von Zweigbergk from Warner Music Sweden said she never feared being disqualified from the competition, “Jessica feels excellent and is preparing for tonight.”

In different circumstances, fellow schlager siren Anna Book was barred from the first semi-final of Melodifestivalen 2016, when it emerged that her track “Himmel för två” had in fact participated in Moldova’s Eurovision Song Contest pre-selection in 2014. In an even more curious twist of fate, Book was also a Warner Music artist.

Actually, I’m fine with the songs that are in the final. However, Andra Chansen is going to be awful this year an I do not see any of these songs at ESC, at least not as a swedish entry

lets end this nonsense about a gender war once and for all, people just prefer fun upbeat songs, do dull stuff.

Melodibrofestivalen feat. Jessica Andersson.
Lucky girl, she’ll be dancing like a mother in a sea of sausages for the finals.

Obviously kidding. 😉

Sweden is incredible weak this year. Im not really sad about Dotter not being in the final, but the rest isn’t so much better. And honestly, Cuba Libre isn’t out yet?

Without wishing to be rude, the singers of songs 1 and 7 are unlikely to benefit from teen girls interested in pretty boys.

Sweden just prefers more upbeat songs, which are in short supply across the continent this year.

DAAAMN Dotter is out (and 6th place)?! Whoever said that this would be the ‘Statements’ of this years Melfest… well that was an understatement it turns out.

Sorry but that song deserved Andra Chanssen at minimum (you can’t tell me cuba libre is better than that one…).

I guess the only good news is I get to get Dotter’s song a bit sooner than potentially anticipated.

I honestly do not have anything against Dotter’s song…I actually quite like it. But…It sounds like she took Issues from Julia Michaels and Make Me from Noah Cyrus (especially that water drop sound) and mashed them up to get “Cry”, ironically, Noah Cyrus’s song is called Make Me (Cry)…. sounds a little fishy and very unoriginal…….

So what? The last 30 seconds aren’t gonna turn things around, either. After officially releasing two-and-a-half-minutes versions of a three-minutes song, you might as well throw out the entire crap. I mean, come on…
I strongly condemn leaks but if a broadcaster refuses to release ALL the competing song AT THE SAME TIME, I feel no sympathy.

This. 30 seconds isn’t going to rock the whole song and change everyone’s minds completely. Always thought the 2min 30sec ‘snippet’ was ridiculous. Hardly just a snippet…

It’s more about making them commercially available. The 2:30 version on SVT Play is not commercial. SVT wants all acts to have a ‘fair’ chance by releasing the songs only after the last semi-final commercially (on Spotify, YouTube, …).

Hey, they’re getting all their songs from Sweden, they should tread more cautiously.
