Ermal Meta Fabrizio Moro Eurovision 2018 Italy
Italy, Ermal Meta & Fabrizio Moro, 1

The number of confirmed entries for Lisbon finally entered double figures over the weekend. But despite the fresh influx of songs, your favourite Eurovision 2018 act so far remains unchanged — it’s Italy’s Ermal Meta & Fabrizio Moro.

Out of the 14,721 votes cast, almost one quarter went the Italians’ way. The “Non mi avete fatto niente” duo picked up 3,559 votes (24.18%).

Italy: Ermal Meta & Fabrizio Moro “Non mi avete fatto niente”

And it’s not just the number one spot that remains unchanged. Positions two to four remain the same as last time, occupied by Spain’s Alfred & Amaia, France’s Madame Monsieur and Albania’s Eugent Bushpepa respectively.

Despite a static scoreboard, all four experienced a bounce in support and enjoyed increased vote tallies week-on-week.

Spain: Alfred & Amaia “Tu canción”

The top five is rounded out by Greece’s Yianna Terzi. Her song “Óneiró mou” is the highest new entry in the current poll, picking up 1,352 votes (9.18%).

Elsewhere, Czech Republic’s Mikolas Josef leapfrogs Denmark’s Rasmussen to take sixth spot. The UK’s Surie and Switzerland’s Zibbz are next, with Belaurs’ Alekseev completing the top ten.

After several weeks, Malta’s Christabelle is no longer in last place. That ignominious honour now goes to Montenegro’s Vanja Radovanovic with “Inje”. Poor Vanja could only manage 144 votes — less than 1% of all votes cast.

Your Eurovision favourites on 20 February (12 acts)

  1. Italy: Ermal Meta & Fabrizio Moro “Non mi avete fatto niente” 24.18% (3,559 votes)

But there’s still a long way to go yet.

Over the next couple of days, we’re due to get at least nine new entries:

  • Tuesday: Serbia
  • Thursday: Germany
  • Saturday: Hungary, Latvia, Moldova, Slovenia, Ukraine
  • Sunday: Armenia, Romania

The poll will open again once all of the above have been revealed, along with any other surprise confirmations.

What do you think of the current standings? Does Italy deserve to be number one? Can they hold on to the top spot once all the new songs enter the race? Who’s your Eurovision favourite? Let us know below.

I don´t get how that song can be on top, it is barely a song at all and it is really boring.

Albanians voting en masse in all online polls it seems…Because it’s defintely not italians skewing all online polls and bringing Albania near the top as well.

If Albanians would be voting en masse, trust me, Albania would be #1 now, not #4.

And check again Eugent Bushpepa’s and Eurovision Albania’s facebook pages. Not a single share of the poll.
Eugent even deleted the ones he shared in the first twk weeks.

So dear, Vangelis, proof or it didn’t happen.

Albania is genuinely liked due to Eugent’s voice and the music genre which extends beyond the immediate region. If his fans had voted, the number would be much higher. Some people are just biased against Albanians and would blame tsunamis on them if they could.

Well I’m not surprised. Given Vangelis’ name, I can just assume he is a Greek who doesn’t happen to like Albanians. Which is quite common in Greece unfortunately.

Italy and France are so overrated but I’m not worried
It’s been like that last year as well (although France deserved a good place) and yet they didn’t do that well
Montenegro however shouldn’t be so low, it is so underrated and it’s really good 🙁

Where do you see France overrated ? Only in your little brain maybe…… you can have a favourite, you can like montenegro but don’t tell bad things about the others. Bye.

I also think it they are overrated, like we all spanish are voting for this, but I don’t agree with you that we will make last place in ESC. I believe we will make top 15th, or so I hope 🙂
My favorites so far are Denmark, Greece and Albania… But I also like very much Spain, Italy and France 🙂 I am eclectic

I only voted for France and this top 7 is my top 7 on a scrambled order. The polls are just for fun, anyway, there’s no reason to fight about the results. And the fact that the voters from some countries get too excited with them doesn’t change the fact that there are people from other countries who like their songs too.

Italy is my country and our song deserves to come second-last to Spain. Can’t believe we’re sending those two voiceless mummies with the stage presence of a vacuum cleaner.

Rumour has it…. during sunny and hot days in Spain, eurofans get down to chill and crowded caves with loads of laptops connected to super-high-speed internet, and they come here reload this website every 3 seconds, post 30 comments per minute and get paid for believing the Spanish entry is the winner year after year. This job emerged after the financial crisis started. Wanna become a eurovision hyping assistant?

But I still think that the hype for OT has brought tons of fans over here to vote for Spain…. not sure if enough to make us second, but sure these polls are recieving more spanish votes than last year

I don’t hate anyone or anything and I respect everyone’s opinion, but when I see our song’s votes increasing in batches of hundreds for one hour and almost zero in the next one I see the same people keeping voting.

Hey, sorry, I did not mean you were not respecting. Sorry, it was aimed to that people who tries to humilliate those entries they don’t back.

I can see what you mean. Fans from the big-five countries have always been blamed to high voting results in here. It’s true that something weird is going on, but…

Can that increase in vote in hundreds in a hour and than no votes for hours, be because the page system needs time with registring votes.. like for example with youtube views.. it take times for views to show.

No….these sudden spurts of voting only happen in the last few days of the polls and out of proportion to votes within the first few hours! Italy was third by quite some distance after 24 hr of poll but Have eclipsed Spain by so much within the next 48.

ESCSuo

Fair enough. Italy is my fav one so far, and Spain deserves a top 3 . Let’s see how the performance progress.

It’s early tho. I can’t wait for big songs to be released! Surprising ones, not just shoutly hot cheeks with average voice in front of a fan.
