DoReDos, the winning trio of Moldova‘s national selection O melodie pentru Europa 2018, have released the official video for “My Lucky Day”.
Shot in Santorini, Greece, the video brings a summery, Mediterranean flavour to Philipp Kirkorov’s song.
Happy, bright and full of cheer and humour — it conveys the feelings behind the country’s most successful efforts at Eurovision (as with SunStroke Project in 2017).
The video for “My Lucky Day” was filmed on the Greek island of Santorini last week. Ironically, it wasn’t filmed on a very lucky day for the Moldovan trio.
Although DoReDos had hoped for a warm, sunny day, the sky was partly overcast and temperatures were still frigid.
Nonetheless, Marina Djundiet bravely donned a series of flowing dresses and a sunhat to throw shade for days, and DoReDos managed to convey that summer vibe flowing throughout “My Lucky Day”.
Interestingly, the official video keeps the National Final version of the song, and not the DJ Shantel remix that was rumoured to become the final version. That is despite the fact that, at least as far as our wiwireaders are concerned, this would have been a better option.
In a poll on our website, the remix was preferred by almost 60% of the fans.
Marina Djundiet, Evgeny Andrianov and Sergiu Mita are now getting ready for the promo tour.
DoReDos is among the first acts confirmed for Eurovision Preparty Riga 2018 — and this is just the beginning.
Together with songwriter and producer Philipp Kirkorov, they’re also putting together a memorable performance for Lisbon, details of which will emerge in due course.
Recently, the trio met with the Moldovan president Igor Dodon, who took a selfie with the entire Moldova team, including Philipp Kirkorov.
DoReDos have friends in high places!
