Minsk calling! OGAE Belarus has awarded 12 points to Israel’s Netta in the OGAE Poll 2018 of international Eurovision fans.
It’s the second perfect score in a row for the Israeli singer and her upbeat track “Toy”. Last year’s winner Francesco Gabbani rapidly built up momentum as clubs revealed their votes.
OGAE Belarus gave 10 points to France’s Madame Monsieur and 8 points to Belgium’s Sennek. Those are the first points France and Belgium have received in the poll.
Sweden’s Benjamin Ingrosso took 7 points and Czech Republic’s Mikolas Josef received 6.
Three more countries also received their first points in the voting: Estonia, Norway and Cyprus. Belarus’s own act Alekseev has yet to receive any points from juries.
You can see the full votes from OGAE Belarus below:
12 – Israel
10 – France
8 – Belgium
7 – Sweden
6 – Czech Republic
5 – Bulgaria
4 – Italy
3 – Estonia

Whether this year’s OGAE Poll predicts the winner of Eurovision 2018 remains to be seen. In eleven years the poll has only correctly picked the winner four times and in three of those cases (2009, 2012, 2013) many fans believe the winner was a foregone conclusion before the Contest began.
There are over 40 OGAE fanclubs across Europe, including nations who have withdrawn from the contest such as Andorra and Turkey. They’ll reveal their scores in the coming weeks as we draw closer to the contest.
Glad for Cyprus and Belgium receiving some points here.
This poll is not bad. I can relate.
Alfred is revealing his true face.
Pure fans from Israel. Their expetation are so high now and I m little bit worried what they are going to do if Israel even will not be in TOP 10 (and I think she will get even worser result than last year Italy).
Song itself is so-so. Performer is not very talented (we have millions of fat girls with same voice actually). So just calm down and wait real results – please dont cry a lot after final- eurovision is not most important thing in your life. :):)
Sorry- it is your taste and you can believe whatever you want. Personally I dont know anybody who likes this song. So for you she can be winner and for me it will be somebody else 🙂
Oh, Anni!
“Personally I dont know anybody who likes this song.”
You need more friends.
Body shaming has no place in eurovision.
But you’re right! It’s such a catchy fun song! Buck buck back to you
It isn’t something to be ashamed of either. Being an a-hole like you is.
Body shaming has no place in eurovision. You, Alfred, have no place in Eurovision.
Good argument, Alfred. Keep it up
Israel is a song for simple people
It amazes me how uncomfortable Israel’s song makes people. Whether it be because of political ideology, the chicken, or the message. I tend to lean towards the message and how men gonna hate! Hope she does well! Clearly the message is important!
Agreed. I will not vote for her, but we must admit she brings something different/new (looper), something “old” (flashy 80’s exuberant style), good message without boring moral, good mood, heady melody : great ingredients for victory. It would be interesting if several artists were exuberant this year; maybe the “schock effect” wouldn’t focus on her. I think people are ashamed to admit that they actually like it. 🙂 If it’s pure politics, it’s so sad… Please people vote for a MUSIC you love, a song that makes you feel something (happiness, sorrow, doesn’t matter), but not simply against a governement… Read more »
Israel’s win would be an offense to music. Not because it is a bad song, but we all know it would win just because a social message promoted so often nowadays. I think it’s time to go back for an Eurovision SONG Contest. I just hope music wins this year. So I don’t want any political, social or any message to beat the music, it’s good to have strong messages in the contest, but let’s rank them musically. Let’s see what will do the Eurovision juries about it, this is a type of situation for why they were invented, otherwise,… Read more »
”Israel’s win would be an offense to music. Not because it is a bad song”
”it’s good to have strong messages in the contest, but let’s rank them musically”
You’ve just said Toy is not a bad song. So you like it musically. You are biased and have a problem with the message, as long as you admit is not bad musically.
WW1 vs WW2
Lisa Angell vs Jamala
Why Lisa Angell – ”N’oubliez Pas” was so low, and Jamala won?
Because Lisa had a lazy ballad.
Netta will win, she has the right song. MUSICALLY.
I like the song. I think it’s a good song and it would be a worthy winner.
My favourite this year – France has a stronger political and social message than this song about women don’t allowing themselves to be used by men. I like the song for the song itself, not just for the message.
Israel has a contemporary unusual cool song. If the jury votes for it, it means they have an open mind. Unfortunely they always vote for ballads, which is a very old fashioned way of thinking.
hahaha, Israel song is not a bad song but is an offence to music. read again your comment. you exposed yourself – you just don’t like the message. the world is full of toxic people like you that lie themselves they are good people.
Netta will win, theres no chance for the crying refugees to win. Netta all the way. I don’t look at esc to cry. Doron Medalie is a genius he knew this song should be uptempo, not an requiem. Is a social problem, but Medalie knows it should not be a victim’s song. Netta can’t lose even if she tries .
Prepare yoursekf and you will see how she will not win. I m 100% sure of that :):) Song is not good and performer is quite bad also- we have 10 or 15 more talneted performers actually in this year competition.
But cross your fingers- first Israel must pass to the final and you need a luck actually !
cancell eurovision 2018 now, and proclame winner Netta now.
Israel 1.000.000.000 points
Europe and Australia 0 zero points
Most of the lyrics are either chicken language and the rest is dolls, toys, boys and more stupid boys?? Motha bucka beat?? The juries will sink this song. It won’t have enough points to win
Israel’s song is like a publicity stunt to try and win people over by using the #metoo movement. I see it as the #whataboutme or #Lookatme attention grabbing song. The music video is good due to the dancers and choreography but Netta alone doing her moves is not very good. On stage she will be standing on behind that looper maybe shaking her bottom while the dancers do their thing. Maybe her staging will be standing in a fighting/battle ring. Netta vs the stupid boys or chickens. I don’t think this song will win because it is more of a… Read more »
I don’t see actual chickens being a part of it. People love the Francesco comparisons but the gorilla was always there – the video, Sanremo, etc. If Netta had chicken costumes we would’ve known by now.
Love this! For something lots of people write off so great to see so much debate from OGAE Poll 2018!
OGAE Belarus composed by… 57 members !!!
Nothing to add.
so what? jury in esc has 5 members each country.
If you have nothing to add then don’t comment
@Savanna
Perhaps you did not understand: “add” means something had been said before. You, you wrote a comment to say nothing. Neither before nor after…
I was just meaning 57 members of o fanclub don’t represent the reality: Belarus people nor professional jury. It’s NOT “against” this special OGAE, it’s available for all of them!! And I’m sure they all vote sincerely and honestly!
I mentioned on another post that Israel’s receiving the most views on YouTube is a good indicator of making it out of the semi. I should clarify it a bit: no, I’m not saying that it means everyone who watches it enjoys it, nor am I saying that it means it’ll win. Knowing what happened with Italy last year, I, like many others, remain cautious. We should also consider how it could get views from non-Eurovision countries. There’s: – Eurovision-friendly countries (Brazil, Mexico, China, USA) – Jews, and lots of them, in and out of Israel – Ugandans – Former… Read more »
Chinese Eurovision fans are also voting for their favorite entries now! Currently Israel is at #2. (#1 is Estonia, if you’re curious to know.)
For whatever reason, I’m not totally surprised. Isn’t opera big in China?
As a Chinese, I hate Opera. However, many Chinese love screaming women in singing competitions or over-the-top stage performances.
So you just called a soprano “a screaming woman”. Nice try. And you don’t know how to appreciate that.
What’s your definition of “Screaming”? We like her for her talent to show her feelings, to make a beautiful atmosphere, not the song, let alone your so-called “Screaming”.
Does anybody who loves Mariah Carey just because she can scream so his some kind of illness can be cured?
I’m also a Chinese. The word ‘Screaming Women’ is disrespectful. The beauty of Eurovision lies in the variety of the songs. Every Chinese has his own preference. Besides the countries mentioned above, Ireland, Albania and other countries are also welcomed in China.
Please don’t represent the Chinese.
I gave Estonia 10 points just because she sang is great, but I don‘t like opera and don’t like her song.
AND
Screaming women?EXCUSE?Many Chinese love ?
??????????
Are you kidding me?you I like HunanTV?hua diao??
You can’t represent all Chinese people?so don’t say so.And you use the words“screaming woman”is very impolite to such a good singer.
Where is Spain in the list?? You guys have no taste. Spain is way better than the rest this year. France and Belarus 0 points. Bye
No, bish.
Actually I’m surprised to see Sweden in the top 3 this year (so far that is) after all the critisism. But that’s fine with me!
After just two countries’ votes it would be any country in top3. There will be a lot of changes along the way before we have got the votes from every OGAE club.
Yes I know, but I didn’t expect it after two countries.. I didn’t expect it last year either..
ISRAEL DESERVES TO WIN!!!
? The only idiot around
Gooooo Sweden!!
Bonsoir Lisboa, Bonsoir l’Europe,
10 points pour la France !!! Hip hip hip.
Merci, Merci, je vais bien… merci Belarus !
La remontada commence !!!
Allez les bleus.
Bisous
Hallo Happyjoy,
Kommst du aus Deutschland ? Ich wohne in Regensburg.
Vielliecht habe ich endlich gefunden…
Tschüss,
Another one here wants to compare Netta to Francesco last year, or talk about OGAE not predicting the winner every year??
Cause I don’t think I’ve heard that enough times.
Gobio I agree with you, it is tiring every time to read the comparisons between Francesco and Netta .. It’s hard for people to give Israel a favor. That’s the real reason for these stupid comparisons
Reasons why they are compared: 1. Both have animals (gorilla vs chicken). 2. Both have social topics with somewhat deep meanings (Italy has a lot so I’m not gonna name them all vs #metoo). 3. Both lyrics are cleverly written (debatable tho). 4. Both are most viewed. 5. Both have somewhat Asian influence/inspirations: – signature outfit is kimono (the cover pics). – Italy with namaste, Buddha etc.. vs Israel with Japanese word „Baka“ and Pickachu. 6. Both are topping the odds and polls. 7. Both are hyped. 8. Both have signature moves (Italy with waving the hands vs Israel with… Read more »
Happy she’s not my toy, boy. This song is the biggest skip moment on Spotify. Super annoying.
It’s not a bad song and it’s in my Top 10. But it won’t win…I wouldn’t mind if it did! But it won’t. It’s the fanwank of the year, in the same vain as Italy last year, France and Russia the year before etc. It gives me the same vibes as Frank Gabbani last year, plus its lyrics won’t appeal to everyone…not all boys are “stupid”. It will score high but I’m sure the winner will be someone else. It might be Bulgaria or Australia actually….
Ogae are not important it’s not ogae contest. Who cares really. Israel can do a lot better than a chicken kind of toy. As I said before, netta n her team are trying to promote their work via eurovision to reach wide audience and they already made a good start. But not necessarily to win esc. This is definitely not a winning song. It might get into the final even left side of the scoreboard but not the top 5, the attention they got for the song already can support them to help it lift up to the top 10… Read more »
Guys… don’t say something like “R U kidding Israel is so gonna win the whole thing”. See Italy last year.
Netta from israel is not Gabbani from italy..therfore Netta is so winning this ..like i said its so easy for her.
@jean philippe… Sorry to upset you .. but everyone loves Netta not only “Israeli Fans”.. so drink cold water and relax its only eurovision lol. And yes we bring important topic to the table..the number 1 topic of this year in America and everywere..so its time this topic will also be in the eurovision.Israelis woman going to the army so i think israel is more famanist than other countries..we have feamle pailots and female fighters..so its an honor to show that side of us in the eurovision..you can roll your eyes as long as yoh want ..Netta will win.and by… Read more »
So you are one of those who religiously believe the “Chicken Pope Bible” of using a serious topic as the #meetoo movement to justify a song that pretty much is a 14 year old girl telling her boyfriend he is stupid and that she is not a toy to put up with him. Right? Right!!!! It’s unbelievable how far people can go just to have a party uptempo crappy song considered as an amazing song that should win Eurovision. The background one uses to try to validate their own rubbish. What shall one sing about next year? About autistic people… Read more »
Charles- On the contrary, the Eurovision Song Contest has to bring songs with a message and meaning. Music has a lot of genres. Who decided that a serious subject should be in a serious musical genre? It is possible to convey a message in a humorous and light way. Not every song must be serious in order to win the competition. Who are you to determine what is qualitative and what is not? It all comes down to personal taste. And the public will decide what it likes and what not? Netta is a quality singer with a personal imprint,… Read more »
And it is really your opinion, that the winner songs had always great and sensful lyrics? Dream a little longer…
Hey, everyone knows that the Eurovision song with the best lyrics ever is Nocturne.
I was in Norway and France. I have French citizenship. The girls in Israel are still more independent because they are 18 years old and go to the army. So do not try to teach me that you will not succeed. As for the song – the theme is universal and no country has any ownership over it. Every country has the right to sing on any subject it wants .. The song of Israel refers to a serious subject in a humorous and light way .. and so he is so loved .. all with humor and also the… Read more »
My favorites this year is Israel and Greece.Greece should come secend to Israel.
@jean – phillipe .. Im Israeli and im not crazy, just saying…
I think both of the songs ( Israel and Greece) are uniq and diffrent in a good way from the rest of the songs.
Oh Jean-Philiippe, please oh please do tell us which song YOU like so we can mention it, so YOU can be happy. Please don’t cry!!!
The hysteria here cracks me up, but I admit – you all make my day. I need this laughter. 2 votes in (TWO) out of 42!!!! and you all stand on your hind legs screaming, howling, pulling your hair out, borderline nervous breakdown and WHY???? because Israel won the first 2 polls:)
I offer free psychiatric consultation and to walk each and every one of you off the ledge is israel wins the next poll too:)
Norway 2 points???? What a bad taste!
What I mean is Norway doesn’t deserve any points!
I’m still hoping people will see the potential of the Netherlands in the contest. Israel will receive a lot of points trough OGAE but honestly I don’t think that country is gonna win in the end.
How is this similar to Calm After The Storm at all? Are you deaf or just clueless about music?
Do you say the same about all those countries sending popmusic over and over again?
I fear not.
You’d better stop talking then.
Yesssss another good result for Netta! Love that woman:)
As much as I like Netta’s Toy, I’m nearly sure that she won’t win. I don’t think either that Sweden will win as well.
I think Belarus will surprise and will win the whole thing.
A dark horse will win that’s for sure.
Yes right… Keep dreaming..Netta is so wining this ..its easy for her
Raymond: I can feel your envy ..lol get over it and see you next year in Jeruasalem dude..we have beautiful chickens in Israel.
Jean philippe… ok im sure many others will come to our beautiful country with or without the chickens lol.
Lol…. Your comment was making sense and then you say Belarus will win….
That’s super funny
My bet is also on Belarus.
Iceland will be in the bottom 5 so I won’t forget that.
Hi wiwibloggs, Could you please not spoil the results of the poll please in the article title? Maybe change it to something like “OGAE Belarus are in!” For those who want a surprise when reading the results. Thanks!
Exactly, it’s Wiwi’s fault if they want to miss on extra click views. Plus, why wouldnt u click anyway to see who scored other points?
I like there to be suspense as I read the points from 1 up to 12. Not have them splooge out the best part in one big go
I think Estonia is hyped, the juries won’ t go for it, and I really don’ t think it will be best song, get up and vote for many people. It’s just an opera voice, nothing special.
Not one single point for Portugal ,Spain and Slovenia so far,and 24 to Israel…no problem Israel will not win and Spain and Portugal will reach thwe top 10.France,Czech Republic,Belgium, Norway, Australia,Israel,Finland and Sweden will also be there…
Does it really?
Since the members voted for their top 10 you can definitely see the type of songs they prefer. Israel, Czech Republic, Sweden, Finland and Australia (and cyprus) have the same fan base so they end up being on top when you ask for the top 10 BUT if all of them get in the final the votes will either spread or concentrate in just one song because fans end up voting just for their absolute favorite…. I think that’s the reason why these polls are never accurate. Songs like the Portuguese one last year (that you either love or hate)… Read more »
It’s Passover, so what better time to say: “Next year in Jerusalem!”
This one’s grown on me a lot. Really looking forward to her live performance. 9 million views don’t lie!
It does have a massive amount of views but the song is very divisive. It will either be ignored by juries and people might see it as a joke or gimmick. It is still too early too call it a winner. I think everbody will try to bring their A game to the stage this year not just Israel. It is unpredictable this year.
@Joe : Thanks from Israel and happy Passover.
See you Next year in Jerusalem the capital of Israel.
I’ll bring the falafel!
Wow every time Israel get good results the fand here who the country which they are supporting gets none… are being so salty… these votes have no meaning what so ever on the results of esc… saying that belarus people have bad taste because of that is a shame for the fan community… i didnt see such hate for Italy last year… Israel slays this year deal with that haters and move onnnnnn…. and i told a lot of people that in the voting greece will be forgotten mark my words.. you can see it right here..
No taste
last year OGAE Belarus didn’t give one single point to Salvador….
France OGAE, who published also this week, gave one solitary point…
Just saying….
Don’t trust OGAE at all. Most times they’re wrong.
I’m actually hoping that my country (Netherlands) fails to get a single point here.
They gave 0 to Common Linnets and Douwe Bob as well, and I remember OG3NE scoring very low. So it’s better for us not to get a point or something.
Apparently only 57 members voted in the Ogae Belarus club. While there were 225 members in the Ogae France.
This does not give an accurate prediction of the winner in May. Italy last year won the Ogae poll in a landslide but failed to reach top 5 in the final.
So 57 members voted and came up with this result. Does any club have under 20 members?
Lucky these clubs don’t have any say in the real results otherwise it’ll be unfair considering the ridiculously low amount of members in each club.
24 points from Belarus will go to Russia. 20 points for Norway, and 16 for Ukraine in Eurovision.
0 points to Greece 🙁
Also Denmark, Australia, Finland & Ukraine didn’t get any points..
Israel,Czech,Bulgaria, Sweden & Italy count 2/2
(Excluding France since they can’t vote for themselfs)
ISRAEL does 2/2 at douze 12 points…
We must already have an ogae 2018 winner i guess…
We will see which countries will fight for the 2nd place…
I say it again: Israel wins the OGAE? But the Contest? No. Unless juries and mainstream audience are willing to see beyond the chicken sounds.
Also, didn¨t you predict Estonia would do well? Ithas only 3 points so far..
Denis, who do you think will win the contest?
Its gonna be Belgium. Mark my words.
Belguim won’t win. The song is getting a bit boring now and it doesn’t sound original. Sounds too much like James Bond songs.
99% of the viewers will get to see and hear the songs for the first time.
Since when is Eurovision about originality?
If i have to place a bet now ( before the rehearsals ). I would put all my money on Belgium 😉
What do you mean getting a bit boring “now”? If it takes a few listens to bore you, that’s good for Eurovision.
Belgium’s song at the beginning was so good that I had it on repeat so many times and now I’m so sick of it.
Nah, dont think so. It’s too depressing i think.
I repeat myself like a broken record: I Think the field is open. It is 2011 all over again. No outright favourite but several favourites leading to a upset dark horse win. None of the major favourites will win but a predicted lower placed top 10 will win. Of course pure speculation from my side.
I like Australia but will they win? I like Sweden but will they win?
This year there are only songs I like instead of songs I love.
I like Australia, Sweden, Cyprus, Estonia and Austria so I hope one of these will win. But I think top 10 is more realistic
oh boy, if iceland wins then slap my ass and call me serhat bc that aint happening
If that’s Iceland’s first win, the best I could say is that it’s revenge against Alexander for pushing them to second place in ’09.
Iceland have a better chance of getting last place. While Norway’s song belongs on Sesame street
I agree that it is more an open field than people realise. Israel are not going to win with that song. We are forgetting there is a very sizeable audience that do not voice themselves through the internet; the older generation still watch Eurovision in droves and they cause a lot of these so-called “upset” and other factors of course too. Estonia I think will reach top 5, as well as Czech and Belgium. But as to the winner I have no idea. I think a top ten placing in the odds song would reach number one. I see Greece… Read more »
This year I think that anyone of the bookies top 10 has a chance of winning. It is now up to their live vocals and staging. A darkhorse might end up winning if they can impress us all in May. I really don’t have a clue at this stage
France will get the idiot vote.
Denis I agree, I don’t think mainstrem escviewers will accept the chickensound and focus on the metoo message – the first times they hear it. They will not hear all the good things about the song – just because of the sounds.
But I mait be wrong : j
Oh FOR SURE the first thing they will notice are the chicken sounds when they will hear it for the first time. I doubt that the message will be delivered in first strike, the chicken sounds might even overshadow the #metoo message. They most likely think it’s a fun/silly/bizarre upbeat song.
Agree, thats a shame. She is really good.
Israel is so overrated. But not more than Sweden, though.
Czechia, France, Denmark and Belgium deserve to get a lot of points.
why is it so important for a big country to win?? such an idiotic thing to say, lol
When did I say anything of the sort. You must be accidentally replying to a wrong post.
Right on:) sorry:)
meant to respond to Malin above:)
