FYR Macedonia, Bojan Trajkovski, 1

The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia doesn’t have the best track record at Eurovision of late. In fact, its last qualification came way back in 2012 with Kaliopi. So colour us excited when Eye Cue — the group fronted by Bojan Trajkovski and Marija Ivanovska — released their Eurovision 2018 song “Lost and Found”. It’s an ingenious blend of EDM and reggae that shouldn’t work, but most definitely does.

It comes from Bojan and his co-writer Darko Dimitrov, who, you may remember, wrote “Ninanajna” for Elena Risteska at Eurovision 2006. The lyrics describe the singer’s longing for a special someone, who she entreats to put his fears aside and to fall into her.

The lyrics definitely put the female in control as she offers to teach him “how it’s done”. Whether that’s about love, making love or living life, it’s an appropriately empowered message for 2018.

The gradual build-up to the EDM banger of a chorus induces tingles, and is well worth the wait. And, if Marija is right, it’ll be worth the wait for her, too.

As she sings: “Come and take me/ I can show you how it’s done/ Come and take me/When no one is around/ Come and take me/ I can show you how it’s done/ We’ll be lost and we’ll be found….”

You can check out the official music video, as well as the “Lost and Found” lyrics below.

Lost and Found – Eye Cue

Lost and Found lyrics — Eye Cue

Come and take me
I can show you how it’s done
Come and take me
When no one is around

Come and take me
I can show you how it’s done
We’ll be lost and we’ll be

If you want me I can tell you
What it’s all about
You’re standing in the shadow
Wondering why
You’re in the dark

I want a deeper, deeper love
I want you by my side
Just let me go deeper
(Go deeper) Go deeper

Come and take me
I can show you how it’s done
Come and take me
When no one is around

Come and take me
I can show you how it’s done
We’ll be lost and we’ll be found
We’ll be lost and we’ll be found
Found

Have you ever thought about it?
We went too far
Now there’s no way back
No way back

Have you ever thought about it?
We went too far
Now there’s no way back
No way

I wish you trust your intuitions
And let the the journey start
You’re free to end your suffer
And trust me what you’ll find
Will blow your mind

I want a deeper, deeper love
I want you by my side
Just let me go deeper
Go deeper (Go deeper)

Come and take me
I can show you how it’s done
Come and take me
When no one is around

Come and take me
I can show you how it’s done
We’ll be lost and we’ll be found
We’ll be lost and we’ll be
Baby, you and I, we’ll be lost and found

Have you ever thought about it?
We went too far
Now there’s no way back
No way back

Have you ever thought about it?
We went too far
Now there’s no way back
No way back

We’ll be lost and we’ll be…

Now stop, both of you! You Greeks and Macedonians are ruining a constructive discussion about this entry. Where are your manners? Adult people, behave or quit this site. Thanks.

Both sides do it. Now, can we get back to actual discussions about the song please?

To those saying it’s only been news about Macedonia’s entry.
what in the heck are you talking about?

April 9 – FYROM’s song lyrics
April 7 – Wiwi’s jury on FYROM’s song
April 1 – FYROM’s song acoustic version

and that’s basically it? imo, the news are spread out equally and not necessarily posted too many times in a row? y’all just hatin at this point.

Why do we have to concentrate on a really mediocre song ?????
We ALL know that in a really strong semi final this WON’T qualify….

Deserves a Final so much! Everything can happen cuz it is Eurovision, hopefully this will qualify cuz we need this so badly in the final.

You obviously have Tourette’s syndrome – but it appears when you express yourself by writing your thoughts… Sad.

Well done Macedonia, this is my 7th place this year. I really like the mixture of several music styles and the chorus is really catchy. I really hope this song works good live. And I hope you qualify from the strong first Semifinal

When they say that the first semi-final is harder, it is because countries like Macedonia are in it ! And this is going straight to the final !! Greetings from Greece <3

Isn’t it supposed to be “You’re afraid that you might suffer” instead of “You’re free to end your suffer?”
Otherwise, thanks a lot for the lyrics 🙂

I actually think we hardly heard anything said for Macedonia for some time since the video was released, and now it all came at once (3 things in a row, the wiwi jury, the interview and this text) and it feels like we r listening only about macedonia.

While so many of you readers are annoyed by the change of the genre or rhythm, I found the construction of the song quite interesting and it’s a brave try to offer something new to the competition. I honestly hope it will make it to the final and give FYROM their best place up today.

In my opinion, only people who are used to more “flat” songs, have problem with the structure.. it’s different and fun, celebrate..

Sure. Just like only people who are used to more “flat” floors have problems with a Hundertwasser house.

Weren’t there rumors floating around that they would send the Macedonian language version? Oh well… another wasted opportunity to showcase a country’s native language. France and Slovenia are adding English to their songs, why can’t any of the English language songs add their own language?

Can you link where it says France and Slovenia are adding english to their songs? cause i’m pretty sure their songs are final.
(France’s performance in London where they sung in english is just a tribute [sort of] to the people in London)

If song from your country was enough good like the song from Republic of Macedonia, i’m 100% sure that would have had the same coverage on many web sites, not only on wiwibloggs.

really good vocal and not bad song, but it’s annoy me a bit when it jumps from one rhythm to completely another, i like only chorus which is catchy and cool, i’m afraid it will not qualify anyway
