Eleni Foureira will represent Cyprus at Eurovision 2018 with the song “Fuego” (Fire). Traditional beats and sounds set the stage for the pop banger, which is extremely radio-friendly. She’s turning up the heat…and we are turning up the volume!

Thematically the song works on a number of levels. “Fuego” could be the heat, passion and inspiration we draw from each other. It could also represent a sense of emancipation and strength — an internal smouldering that gives life, lust, love and more.

As she sings: “Coz I’m way up and I ain’t comin’ down, Keep takin’ me higher…Coz I’m burning up and I ain’t cooling down, Yeah I got the fire…Fuego.”

The song was composed by Alex ‘P’ Papaconstantinou, a man with plenty of Eurovision experience. Amongst his previous hits are Azerbaijan’s 2009 entry “Always” by Aysel and Arash and Cyprus’ 2012 song “La La Love” sung by Ivi Adamou.

Fuego Lyrics — Eleni Foureira

Take a dive into my eyes
Yeah, the eyes of lioness
Feel the power, they ain’t lying
A little look, a little touch
You know the power of silence
Yeah keep it up, keep it up

I was looking for some high-high-highs, yeah
‘Til I got a doze of you
You got me pelican fly-fly-flyin’

Coz I’m way up and I ain’t comin’ down
Keep taking me higher
Ah yeah ah yeah ah yeah, yeah ah yeah ah yeah
Coz I’m burning up and I ain’t coolin’ down
Yeah I got the fire
Ah yeah ah yeah ah yeah, yeah ah yeah ah yeah

Fuego
Fuego
Ah yeah ah yeah ah yeah, yeah ah yeah ah yeah
Fuego

Take me in, take a breath
Ain’t no hidden agenda
What u see is what u get

I was looking for some high-high-highs, yeah
‘Til I got a doze of you
You got me pelican fly-fly-flyin’

Coz I’m way up and I ain’t comin’ down
Keep taking me higher
Ah yeah ah yeah ah yeah, yeah ah yeah ah yeah
Coz I’m burning up and I ain’t coolin’ down
Yeah I got the fire
Ah yeah ah yeah ah yeah, yeah ah yeah ah yeah

Fuego
Fuego
Ah yeah ah yeah ah yeah, yeah ah yeah ah yeah
Fuego

Oh your love is like wild-wildfire
You got me pelican fly-fly-flyin’

Coz I’m way up and I ain’t comin’ down
Keep taking me higher
Ah yeah ah yeah ah yeah, yeah ah yeah ah yeah
Coz I’m burning up and I ain’t coolin’ down
Yeah I got the fire
Ah yeah ah yeah ah yeah, yeah ah yeah ah yeah

Fuego
Fuego
Ah yeah ah yeah ah yeah, yeah ah yeah ah yeah

You would better give us an article about some non-English song (translation), or more complicated one. Seriously.

The official Eurovision site has all the lyrics. However, I too believe you guys should also add lyrics for the non english songs.
For example, Albania, Serbia or Armenia. I’ve recently searched for the lyrics of “Inje” and it’s so beautiful. You should check it out!
