Serbia, Mladen Luki?, 2

Nod to tradition and get ready to dance! Serbia’s Sanja Ilic & Balkanika are taking us to the club with the totally original and infectious “Nova deca“.

Written by the group’s frontman Sanja Ilic, his wife Tanja Ilic, Danica Krstajic and Darko Dimitrov — whose other Eurovision productions include “Ninanajna“, “I’m Alive” and “Lost And Found” — “Nova deca” is an upbeat ode to traditional Balkan music adapted for the modern age.

Lyrically, “Nova deca” pays homage to a love so strong that nothing else matters. It’s all-encompassing and has the power to create new worlds. As they sing: “The world is ours and time stops rushing when you are with me […] The world is ours and new children create a better world with us.” Preach!

The intro, sung by Danica Krstic, was written in the Torlakian dialect, which is typical of Southeastern Serbia. The chorus was written in the standard Serbian language.

Sanja Ilic & Balkanika — Nova deca lyrics

Original lyrics

Sunce sija druga?ije
Svet je naš i nova deca
S nama stvaraju bolji svet

Aj, da ja danem
I da…
A što ne gi dadne, eh
Bolji svet

Na na na na na na ne
Na na ne, na na, ah ah
Na na ne, na na ne
Na na ne, na na ne

English translation

Ah, may I rest
And why have I done this to you, dear?
And why don’t we give them, eh?
Na na na

The world is ours and time stops rushing
When you are with me
The world is ours and I wake up with a smile
Because you exist

Everything is clearer
The sun shines differently
The world is ours and new children
Create a better world with us

Ah, may I rest
And…
Why do not we give them, eh?
A better world

Na na na na na na ne
Na na ne, na na, ah ah
Na na ne, na na ne
Na na ne, na na ne

If you’re new to Wiwibloggs, then you should know that the site always posts lyrics of all competing songs every year.

No they don’t, just they do articules that they don’t need, to a English singing songs (thanks God some of thems are beautiful even to read), just the years before was most of them in English, this year that we have Portugal,Armenia,Hungary, Greece,France, Slovenia,Italy, Georgia,Montenegro and my country Spain (sorry if I have forgot someone) they was giving us the lyrics of a songs (some of thems really good) in English because of the accent of the singer is not possible to understand the song,

It’s a Wiwiblogs tradition for them to publish lyrics.

You don’t have to read them id you don’t like ’em.

Darko did “I’m Alive”?

Doubt it? You might have meant To The Sky?

He did both, To the Sky as songwriter and producer, I’m Alive as producer.

“Na na na na na na ne
Na na ne, na na, ah ah
Na na ne, na na ne
Na na ne, na na ne”

Ah, got to be my favourite line from the song; it really is something we can all relate to.

That beside, I enjoy this entry and hope it does well. Good Luck, Serbia!

I really love this song. It didn’t grab me straight off but now I think it’s rather fabulous. I’m loving the return of these moody ethnic entries, and a surprising number of songs in native languages. A much more diverse selection than last year.

Aye. This song and the music remind me of Knez’ “Adio”. They are in my top 10 and I expect them to qualify. I hope they have a stage presentation convincing enough to get them to the final.
