Sanja Ilic & Balkanika, who will represent Serbia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018, bring a sea of beautiful voices. And today we can reveal that they’re adding another lovely vocal to the mix.
While rehearsing their entry “Nova deca“, the group realized that another female voice could make a lovely performance even more lovely. After careful consideration, they have chosen Iva Banicevic.
This will be Banicevic’s first collaboration with the group Sanja Ilic & Balkanika. Her beauty and stage presence fit perfectly with the message of “Nova deca” — that new generations will change the world for the better.
Banicevic is known within music circles in Serbia as a backing vocalist for popular pop singer Aleksandra Radovic.
In an exclusive statement sent to Wiwibloggs, the 22-year-old singer said:
I was thrilled with the invitation to perform ‘Nova deca’ with the group Sanja Ilic & Balkanika. I am sure that Eurovision is going to be a great experience for all of us and I cannot wait for us to step on that huge stage.
Sanja Ilic & Balkanika announced the arrival of a new kid with a post on their Instagram profile, which showed them singing “Nova deca” along with Banicevic. They captioned the photo with this:
“Rehearsal Time! Did you know that we are going to have one more singer on stage in Lisbon. It’s fantastic Iva Banicevic.”
Despite the hectic schedule they have at the moment, Balkanika found time to make an appearance at the Eurovision karaoke contest that was held yesterday at the Big Fashion shopping mall in Belgrade.
The group performed their entry and served as the members of the jury, along with Serbia 2017 singer Tijana Bogicevic and young artist Luke Black.
It was the first occasion that Iva Banicevic performed publicly with the group to overwhelmingly positive reactions.
