Nine acts brought their A-game to their first rehearsal on May 1 — or, as those of locked in the Eurovision press room would say, Day Two. Switzerland’s Zibbz threw stones all over the stage. Ireland’s Ryan O’Shaughnessy welcome the same-sex couple from his video clip onto the stage. And Austria’s Cesár Sampson rode on a Hollywood-like spaceship as he literally reached for the sky.
We asked you who had the best first rehearsal — and the results are in. After counting 5,437 votes, we can now confirm that Cyprus’ Eleni Foureira burned up the poll with 31% of all votes, or 1,736 votes to be precise.
Eleni brought fire to Lisbon, showing off her stunning body in a hip-hugging sequinned catsuit.
Her choreography and sartorial styling was on point, but so were her vocals, which managed to stay in tune and powerful despite all the thrusting.
Finland’s Saara Aalto surprised many with a completely new stage performance, which nodded to UMK but took things in a whole new direction. She earned 17.5% of all votes — or 950 to be precise. Saara turned her world upside down with some innovative staging and unleashed her inner monster. She’s not holding onto monsters, but she’s holding onto second place in our poll.
Rounding out the top three and driving us cray-cray is Franka from Croatia with “Crazy”. She delivered a slick, sultry performance that focused on Franka as the star.
She earned 14.3% or 779 of the total vote.
See below for all the results.[polldaddy poll=9989984]
Did Eleni’s “Fuego” light your fire on day two of rehearsals? Who was your favourite otherwise? Let us know in the comments section below.
This song is not something special .. we have seen enough of these songs in the past..I don’t think it will go too high in the final
Look at these fans who claims that ESC should be more ”artistic” and then gone mad after Eleni flips her hair, HILARIOUS
Good ‘performance’ but there are 5 people singing at the same time so this is a group / or choir act.
Does she sing solo at any point in the song?
Wasn’t Day Two April 30, not May 1?
Waiting the greek holograms to come on stage, but yianna was really good
Say what now? Holo-yaaaaas
Guys according to yianna’s interview i think there’s no hologram or augmented reality coming… just more light effects in the instrumental bridge, fire and maybe dry ice!
She posted a story saying she hides something and in a Greek morning TV show they said that the graphics had a delay to get there
She wasn’t referring to holograms… the concept of the staging is that she will be “directing” the lights in the bridge of the song with her blue hand. I’m curious to see how this turns out but overall i’m quite underwhelmed as she’s alone and the stage is empty
Me too, honestly. I think most of us expected or wanted something else, which contributes to that underwhelmed feeling. I am curious to see how the light directing thing and the final camera angles turn out but I am trying to keep my expectations as low as possible.
According to a greek tv show, there is something stuck in the customs (if I’m saying this correctly). Is it gonna be a prop or some effects, I don’t know, but they said that the eurovision team apologised to the greek delegation and that they will try very hard to make it up in the second rehearsal. Yianna said, in a live video she did in instagram, that the technical crew was not as ready as they were in other delegations and that they hardly even showed what they wanted to. So we know for sure that there are more… Read more »

The site doesn’t support Greek, apparently. :p

No she wasn’t what exactly? ?
By the way, Wiwibloggs, some more articles/appearances from Sebastian Diaz would be nice!
What an absolutely gorgeous looking guy!
That is all.
He’s not your toy! LOL 🙂
If only.. 😉
I like what you did there
Winner Alert! #Fuego
5th place for Ireland isn’t bad after rehearsal 1. Hopefully any improvements that can be made before semi final night can be made and this entry can hopefully go from strength to strength. Being Irish and a fan of ESC, it is so hard facing disappointment every year…we really need to qualify. We are actually trying this year…lol
Pelican flyin’ to the top!
Macedonia get your camera angles please!
Great potential with their act. We hope they nail those angles too!
Can you just go and do it for them William? Give them your positive vibes too please ho-ney!
