Nine acts brought their A-game to their first rehearsal on May 1 — or, as those of locked in the Eurovision press room would say, Day Two. Switzerland’s Zibbz threw stones all over the stage. Ireland’s Ryan O’Shaughnessy welcome the same-sex couple from his video clip onto the stage. And Austria’s Cesár Sampson rode on a Hollywood-like spaceship as he literally reached for the sky.
We asked you who had the best first rehearsal — and the results are in. After counting 5,437 votes, we can now confirm that Cyprus’ Eleni Foureira burned up the poll with 31% of all votes, or 1,736 votes to be precise.
Eleni brought fire to Lisbon, showing off her stunning body in a hip-hugging sequinned catsuit.
Her choreography and sartorial styling was on point, but so were her vocals, which managed to stay in tune and powerful despite all the thrusting.
Finland’s Saara Aalto surprised many with a completely new stage performance, which nodded to UMK but took things in a whole new direction. She earned 17.5% of all votes — or 950 to be precise. Saara turned her world upside down with some innovative staging and unleashed her inner monster. She’s not holding onto monsters, but she’s holding onto second place in our poll.
Rounding out the top three and driving us cray-cray is Franka from Croatia with “Crazy”. She delivered a slick, sultry performance that focused on Franka as the star.
She earned 14.3% or 779 of the total vote.
