Last night Cyprus‘ Eleni Foureira lit up the Eurovision stage and today her odds are on fire too.

Eleni is in blue across the board at bookmakers. That means her odds to win are shortening. Bet365 have moved her from 11/4 to 5/2. The chance of a historic first Eurovision victory for Cyprus draws closer.

The pyro-princess is followed by Norway. “Fairytale” hitmaker Alexander Rybak is second favourite to win the the contest. Betfair has him as low as 7/2. His odds may shorten further after the second semi-final tomorrow night in Lisbon.

Norway’s elevation comes at Israel‘s expense. Netta slipped to second yesterday and has fallen to third today. Israel’s odds are as high as 6/1 with some bookmakers. Netta’s also in the red with bookmakers, meaning her odds to win are drifting.

France is in fourth. Madame Monsieur’s odds have shortened, but not enough to enter the top three. Madame Monsieur match Israel’s lowest odds of 5/1.

The newest tenant of the Eurovision 2018 odds top five is Lithuania. Ieva Zasimauskaité’s odds have elevated significantly after a standout semi-final performance on Tuesday night. 188Bet has Lithuania as low as 9/1 to win it all. Odds on May 8 were as high as 100/1.

Sweden has crept up to sixth ahead of Semi-Final 2. Benjamin Ingrosso’s odds have inched lower. MarathonBet has him at 12/1 and he’s in the blue at most bookmakers.

Estonia has moved in the other direction. Elina Nechayeva sits in seventh. Her Grand Final draw for first half could explain her downward trajectory. Odds have opened up, rising to highs of 25/1 at BetFred and Bet365.

Others movers include Czech RepublicMoldova and Bulgaria. Czech Republic and Bulgaria have both moved down, while Moldova is moving on up.

Mikolas Josef’s odds to win have widened twice over in some cases. BetFair have adjusted him from 12/1 to 25/1. Moldova‘s meanwhile has momentum. They’re now ninth favourites to win the whole thing. BetFred has DoReDos as low as 20/1. Bringing up the rear is Bulgaria. Equinox’s odds are widening at most bookmakers. BetFred has them as high a 40/1.

Cyprus song has only a nice show and a sexy singer but she doesn’t perform this song good not the greatest voice of the contest. I like Israel and Estonia if we vote for the song and not for legs and boobs then Cyprus best position should be 3rd or 4rd not better. Also Cyprus will be voted by Greece and maybe Albany too as always and it will have a boost. I think cyprious singer is nice but on this song she couldn’t show her voice skills and it was worse than the original/prerecorded song. Anyway if you want… Read more »

I think you just forget the portuguese song, that is in my opinion (and for so many be sure) one of the best entry. Simple is beautiful and the song is just MAGICAL, the voice is sublime, the lights so intimate, the all song a mastearpiece. An other quality act! The mother tongue is used as a force for European cultural diversity and the portuguese tongue is so magnificent. Since last year the World is realising the essence of portuguese culture. The beautiful simplicity is what makes tem unique. Portugal is a small country but definitly a huge potential The… Read more »

If we’ll get a quality winner, France, Denmark and Germany should make at least top 5. But alas, this is Eurosong. The most recent voting system makes these odds and polls pointless. There is no way to predict which countries will be in the top 5, let alone who’ll win.

That´s the weirdest (positive way) ESC ever. Everyone would say a country who you believe 100% will win or at least think of. But lets be somehow neutral. Is it possible to know the Top 5? or even in random order? Jury and televoting? Random order maybe but this is so freaking crazy. Jury I can see France, Lithuania, Germany or Austria in front. Maybe others? And televoting??? 😀 It could be Cyprus, it could be Israel, Estonia no one can rule out because of that special performance and genre, France, Lithuania., Norway, Hungary?? Others maybe?? The Top 5 of… Read more »

I have no idea really. I can tell you my personal top 5 according to my taste and trying to focus on quality and language, voice and lyrics: Lithuania, Spain, Austria, France and Albania. Im not a big fan of visuals and fireworks, I must say. I prefer the songs. Other ixmy favourites like Armenia or Greece are out. Others I like are Estonia and Germany. But too focused on visuals. Cyprus, Israel, Sweden, Bulgaria and Czechia, I like them to dance and party. But not to win a music contest. Personal opinion only.

IMO the vocals were bad, except Jonny Manuel, who is saving this group big time. If it wasn’t him, this project would never happen. The sound was so quiet, like were they holding it back or was the overall sound just so bad at the arena. Because there were so unequal performances – like Azerbaijan, Czech Republic and Bulgaria were so quiet and countries like Lithuania and F.Y.R Macedonia sound was so much louder (not going to say all the countries, just brought out few I remembered atm). Bulgaria is too dark and it just doesn’t reach to peoples, like… Read more »

Have you heard what sound compression is? Yes new EBU normalizations sound kills all dynamics and make quiet songs sounds as loud if not louder than powerful songs, quiet parts of the song as loud as the louds one. Artists have unfortunately nothing to do with that.
Bulgaria has effectively the most powerful and dynamic song but we can’t enjoy it because of this craziness and it damages the overall enjoyment when listening it.

Even though it’s my favourite “studio version ” song (after listening many times), I don’t think it works very well live hearing it for the first time. The text is kinda random and it doesn’t feel genuine. More like an attempt to create a perfect quality song. Just don’t feel the big audience will go for it. But Bulgaria is definitely very consistent in sending quality songs, so a victory will follow in not very many years. Hopefully.

I guess the bookies can get their hands on, or at least have a better insight in the televotes then the juryvotes. So that would mean Lithuania (and/or Cyprus) might have won the televotes yesterday. I really can’t imagine jury’s giving Lithuania high votes. I suppose it’s touching (if you’re sensitive for that sort of sentiment;-)) but let’s be honest…her singing qualities are not great at all.
Could win the televotes Saturday but it will be placed too low by jury’s to win the whole thing.

You can’t imagine juries giving Lithuania high votes ? Well, if you look at previous years’ results, it was juries who helped for ballads more – in 2017 SF Czechia received 81 points (7th place) from juries and 2 points (18th place) from televoting. Or look at Malta, which got 55 points from juries (8th place) and 0 points from televoting (18th place). That’s why I believe Lithuania will receive much more points from juries than from televoting.

Yes juries might like ballads if they are sung by quality voices. But as cute as the Lithuanian song is, her voice is not very good. Ireland is much stronger from that point of view.

Ballads do well if they are sung well. Vocal ability is probably the most important issue the juries vote on.
So if two ballads were competing then the one with best vocal ability would get more jury votes. Ireland probably got more jury votes than Lithuania but both were in jury top 10

Norway 2nd place is too suspicious in there. Like, this is a bad “sesame street” song, no staging can help that. Cyprus actually reminds me too much of “Lean On” by Mo (the verses beginning and the bridge are pretty identical, so is the use of the ethnic music after the chorus) but it’s well performed, can’t deny it. I am also not a fan of countries that buy their songs and team from Sweden. The Swedish music industry is doing more than fine, try to develop your own artists and song writers instead throwing more money on the Swedes.

Among those in top 5 I prefer Lihtuania to win. They deserve the most in my opinion. They are the REAL underdogs, c’mon their best result was 6th place with ironic WE ARE THE WINNERS back in 2006. They have managed to reach to top 10 only twice. Lithuania you have my support.

Lets not make pity voting for countries that did poorly in Eurovision a trend (like Portugal’s ridiculous win last year). Lithuania’s entry is nothing too special, the fact that their best result was 6th place and they never won has nothing to do with the voting for the current year. There are a bunch of countries that never won and never did well, they should try harder and not to depend on pity votes.

Netta has won the internet no matter what, she’s just giving something different rather than another dancing model with a template of a pop song or YET ANOTHER soft ballad about love love love.

I’m seriously considering putting 2,000 € on San Marino for victory. If they win, I’ll be a millionaire by Saturday. If they don’t, I probably won’t be charged anyway because everybody will believe me if I say I was totally out of my freaking mind when I placed that bet.

I just wonder if Sweden will get a great running order anagin in the final, just like they did last year. And of course they are in an easier semifinal, near the end, with other nordic countries who can block vote for them. Nepotism much mr Ola?

Netta’s performance was way better than in the rehearsal videos, but she messed up the “Wonder Woman don’t you ever forget/You’re divine and he’s about to regret” lines which took quite a lot of the song’s drive/dynamic in the first half.

That’s funny how she nails the difficult high notes avery time but struggles with the soft part, that’s the nerves. But I think she will be better in the final, qualification gives artists extra confidence and she’s not the no1 favourite anymore, so she can actually focus on doing her best rather than carry all those mad expectations on her shoulders. Now cyprus will perform under pressure, we’ll see how she does.

Ok, either Cyprus or Estonia will win. Tbh, I would be happy with both of them, as long as Ireland doesn’t win.

I think lithuania could get their best ever place (current best is 6th). We will find out on friday if lithuania is drawn between the 9th-13th spot in the first half that means that She came top 3 in her semi. I think this could easily win the jury vote and the diaspora is super strong with Ireland , Uk, Norway, Georgia, Latvia,Estonia, Poland, Belarus

I just don’t get it… Lithuania and Norway in the top 5! For me, these songs are awful! And Cyprus number 1! The song is just OK. I would love to see Cyprus winning soon, but pretending that this song is the best song that over 800 millions of Europeans can compose is just awkward.
Would prefer to have Bulgaria, Austria, Albania or Estonia winning this year.
If Lithuania or Norway wins for me it will replace Running Scared as the worst winner of all times

Lithuania certainly deserve a top 5 placing. Such a beautifully staged tender song. As much as i L O V E Netta and Toy, the song does not come across great as live, possibly because the music video is now so iconic and I hate to call the semi 1 performance a mess, but it was. – Don’t get me wrong, this song will be bigger than Gangnam style honey but I can’t see her winning with this staging and delivery. The final is wide open. top votes are going to be spit all over the shop and it will… Read more »
