Last night Cyprus‘ Eleni Foureira lit up the Eurovision stage and today her odds are on fire too.
Eleni is in blue across the board at bookmakers. That means her odds to win are shortening. Bet365 have moved her from 11/4 to 5/2. The chance of a historic first Eurovision victory for Cyprus draws closer.
The pyro-princess is followed by Norway. “Fairytale” hitmaker Alexander Rybak is second favourite to win the the contest. Betfair has him as low as 7/2. His odds may shorten further after the second semi-final tomorrow night in Lisbon.
Norway’s elevation comes at Israel‘s expense. Netta slipped to second yesterday and has fallen to third today. Israel’s odds are as high as 6/1 with some bookmakers. Netta’s also in the red with bookmakers, meaning her odds to win are drifting.
France is in fourth. Madame Monsieur’s odds have shortened, but not enough to enter the top three. Madame Monsieur match Israel’s lowest odds of 5/1.
The newest tenant of the Eurovision 2018 odds top five is Lithuania. Ieva Zasimauskaité’s odds have elevated significantly after a standout semi-final performance on Tuesday night. 188Bet has Lithuania as low as 9/1 to win it all. Odds on May 8 were as high as 100/1.
Sweden has crept up to sixth ahead of Semi-Final 2. Benjamin Ingrosso’s odds have inched lower. MarathonBet has him at 12/1 and he’s in the blue at most bookmakers.
Estonia has moved in the other direction. Elina Nechayeva sits in seventh. Her Grand Final draw for first half could explain her downward trajectory. Odds have opened up, rising to highs of 25/1 at BetFred and Bet365.
Others movers include Czech Republic, Moldova and Bulgaria. Czech Republic and Bulgaria have both moved down, while Moldova is moving on up.
Mikolas Josef’s odds to win have widened twice over in some cases. BetFair have adjusted him from 12/1 to 25/1. Moldova‘s meanwhile has momentum. They’re now ninth favourites to win the whole thing. BetFred has DoReDos as low as 20/1. Bringing up the rear is Bulgaria. Equinox’s odds are widening at most bookmakers. BetFred has them as high a 40/1.

What do you make of the odds? Can Cyprus take it all? Or Can Lithuania cause an upset? Let us know in the comments below!
Cyprus song has only a nice show and a sexy singer but she doesn’t perform this song good not the greatest voice of the contest. I like Israel and Estonia if we vote for the song and not for legs and boobs then Cyprus best position should be 3rd or 4rd not better. Also Cyprus will be voted by Greece and maybe Albany too as always and it will have a boost. I think cyprious singer is nice but on this song she couldn’t show her voice skills and it was worse than the original/prerecorded song. Anyway if you want… Read more »
I agrre with you that’s true portuguese song is just feelings and is beautiful
I think you just forget the portuguese song, that is in my opinion (and for so many be sure) one of the best entry. Simple is beautiful and the song is just MAGICAL, the voice is sublime, the lights so intimate, the all song a mastearpiece. An other quality act! The mother tongue is used as a force for European cultural diversity and the portuguese tongue is so magnificent. Since last year the World is realising the essence of portuguese culture. The beautiful simplicity is what makes tem unique. Portugal is a small country but definitly a huge potential The… Read more »
If we’ll get a quality winner, France, Denmark and Germany should make at least top 5. But alas, this is Eurosong. The most recent voting system makes these odds and polls pointless. There is no way to predict which countries will be in the top 5, let alone who’ll win.
No reason for Israel to fall. It is the best song. So much better and more relevant than all the others. It should be LANDSLIDE FOR ISRAEL’S SONG.
I think the winner, in the end, will be Hungary. A unique performance (comparing with the other songs in the contest) with a lot of feeling.
No, god no! We do not need another repeat of 2017! Cyprus has to win! We need a good song to finally win!
Yaaaaass Go Lithuania!! Ieva is gonna take it all just like Azerbaijan in 2011
That´s the weirdest (positive way) ESC ever. Everyone would say a country who you believe 100% will win or at least think of. But lets be somehow neutral. Is it possible to know the Top 5? or even in random order? Jury and televoting? Random order maybe but this is so freaking crazy. Jury I can see France, Lithuania, Germany or Austria in front. Maybe others? And televoting??? 😀 It could be Cyprus, it could be Israel, Estonia no one can rule out because of that special performance and genre, France, Lithuania., Norway, Hungary?? Others maybe?? The Top 5 of… Read more »
I have no idea really. I can tell you my personal top 5 according to my taste and trying to focus on quality and language, voice and lyrics: Lithuania, Spain, Austria, France and Albania. Im not a big fan of visuals and fireworks, I must say. I prefer the songs. Other ixmy favourites like Armenia or Greece are out. Others I like are Estonia and Germany. But too focused on visuals. Cyprus, Israel, Sweden, Bulgaria and Czechia, I like them to dance and party. But not to win a music contest. Personal opinion only.
Dont care what they all say but I’m 100% for Estonia.
Well if you place your money now on Bulgaria , you gonna make a good investment , 2nd half on the final , amazing vocals , will get votes both from jury and tele , it may happen just as Jamala 2 years ago . This is by far Bulgaria’s best entry and you will see why on saturday.
IMO the vocals were bad, except Jonny Manuel, who is saving this group big time. If it wasn’t him, this project would never happen. The sound was so quiet, like were they holding it back or was the overall sound just so bad at the arena. Because there were so unequal performances – like Azerbaijan, Czech Republic and Bulgaria were so quiet and countries like Lithuania and F.Y.R Macedonia sound was so much louder (not going to say all the countries, just brought out few I remembered atm). Bulgaria is too dark and it just doesn’t reach to peoples, like… Read more »
Have you heard what sound compression is? Yes new EBU normalizations sound kills all dynamics and make quiet songs sounds as loud if not louder than powerful songs, quiet parts of the song as loud as the louds one. Artists have unfortunately nothing to do with that.
Bulgaria has effectively the most powerful and dynamic song but we can’t enjoy it because of this craziness and it damages the overall enjoyment when listening it.
“Amazing vocals”, including that fake high note?
Even though it’s my favourite “studio version ” song (after listening many times), I don’t think it works very well live hearing it for the first time. The text is kinda random and it doesn’t feel genuine. More like an attempt to create a perfect quality song. Just don’t feel the big audience will go for it. But Bulgaria is definitely very consistent in sending quality songs, so a victory will follow in not very many years. Hopefully.
Lithuania ppl are very proud of Ieva so they placed their bets on her. That’s sweet.
Odds sux a lot. I wouldn’t be suprised if Albania wins. I’m sure he was high with jury and with televotes somehow. The thing is that there are people that love it so much and the other hand hate it. As for me either Albania or Bulgaria wins.
He is going to do much better than the odds predict, that’s for sure.
I’m sure he is going to be in Top 10. The vocals, the song, the language, simply on stage, dark horse feeling.
None of them is going to win. See u next year in Dublin.
I guess the bookies can get their hands on, or at least have a better insight in the televotes then the juryvotes. So that would mean Lithuania (and/or Cyprus) might have won the televotes yesterday. I really can’t imagine jury’s giving Lithuania high votes. I suppose it’s touching (if you’re sensitive for that sort of sentiment;-)) but let’s be honest…her singing qualities are not great at all.
Could win the televotes Saturday but it will be placed too low by jury’s to win the whole thing.
Lithuania has a lot of diaspora. This helps a lot with the televote. I like the song quite a lot, but agree it’s not one of the best voices of the year…
I m not optimistic about Lithuania- quite sure final place will be between 15-22
You can’t imagine juries giving Lithuania high votes ? Well, if you look at previous years’ results, it was juries who helped for ballads more – in 2017 SF Czechia received 81 points (7th place) from juries and 2 points (18th place) from televoting. Or look at Malta, which got 55 points from juries (8th place) and 0 points from televoting (18th place). That’s why I believe Lithuania will receive much more points from juries than from televoting.
Yes juries might like ballads if they are sung by quality voices. But as cute as the Lithuanian song is, her voice is not very good. Ireland is much stronger from that point of view.
Agree. I love the song, but voicewise is not one of the best in a ballad. Ireland has a great voice and Amaia from Spain has one of the most charismatic voices of this year.
Looks like Otto is opera fan, maybe Ieva hasn’t got opera voice but her singing has been liked by many and Irland is also good but in past years there are quite few similar songs were around which this makes a bit boring.
There are other ballads: Germany Portugal Spain, which have not performed yet and may cause a similar effect as Lithuania dius the first time.
Ballads do well if they are sung well. Vocal ability is probably the most important issue the juries vote on.
So if two ballads were competing then the one with best vocal ability would get more jury votes. Ireland probably got more jury votes than Lithuania but both were in jury top 10
This is exciting still can’t predict a winner maybe Ireland could win or a big 5 this year
To be honest I expected so much more from Cyprus. Don’t get me wrong – the song is good and Eleni is great but the choreography does get boring in my opinion and it’s not that special. My favorite is Bulgaria but to be honest there are many good songs and I’m ready for some surprises. Maybe the winner is not even in the top 10 with the bookies? That would be interesting.
Just look at the picture. Who is the real woman.
Well, all of them seem real to me.
What does that suppost to mean, Nicolas lol
What’s a “real woman” man? If people making this comment supports this, what a good reason not to support it myself. Women are not objects for desire. Unfortunately her performance focuses on that…. and wiwi, eurofans in general, the press and the odds must be blamed for this.
Famagusta 2019
This years winner will be unexpected af,mark my words.
Albania was at the bottom with odds and still shined and passed. People just get hyped up with odds, duno why.
As much as I would like to, I don’t think we’re going to get a quality winner third year in a row. So imo France/Lithuania/Estonia won’t win. We’ll probably have a trash winner like Cyprus/Israel/Sweden/Norway. Hopefully I’ll be proven wrong on Saturday 🙂
I still think spain is gonna win
The hope is the last thing to be lost….
Prior to it Spain loses.
Hard now. The odds and eurofans are focusing on hips, fireworks, visuals, divas…. as usual. I have a bit of hope in the juries though. But that’s not enough.
There is no way. The only slow song that has a chance this year is Lithuania and it’s still not likely
We never know. Just before yesterday Lithuania didnt have any chances either. And now you see…. Hypes. Will the song with her half-crying voice at the end cause the same effect twice?
I’m not trying to say that Lithuania is going to win. I’m saying that Spain doesn’t have anything to offer that Lithuania can’t
Norway 2nd place is too suspicious in there. Like, this is a bad “sesame street” song, no staging can help that. Cyprus actually reminds me too much of “Lean On” by Mo (the verses beginning and the bridge are pretty identical, so is the use of the ethnic music after the chorus) but it’s well performed, can’t deny it. I am also not a fan of countries that buy their songs and team from Sweden. The Swedish music industry is doing more than fine, try to develop your own artists and song writers instead throwing more money on the Swedes.
Exactly my thoughts on Cyprus.
I will remind you that the main songwriter is Greek Swedish. So, invalid argument!
Sesame street song omg hahaha I’m dying
It would be really weird if Estonia’s odds fall because of the first half draw when you consider that we’ve had 3 winners come from the first half in the last 4 years.
Among those in top 5 I prefer Lihtuania to win. They deserve the most in my opinion. They are the REAL underdogs, c’mon their best result was 6th place with ironic WE ARE THE WINNERS back in 2006. They have managed to reach to top 10 only twice. Lithuania you have my support.
Lets not make pity voting for countries that did poorly in Eurovision a trend (like Portugal’s ridiculous win last year). Lithuania’s entry is nothing too special, the fact that their best result was 6th place and they never won has nothing to do with the voting for the current year. There are a bunch of countries that never won and never did well, they should try harder and not to depend on pity votes.
No pity vote here, I really liked their performance and the song. Lithuania doesn’t depend on the pity votes and they truly have tried harder this time.
Then there’s no point to mention how bad they did in the past. That was about all I could hear about Portugal last year everywhere. And I’m sure it affected the results.
The point was that they are the REAL underdog among the top 5.
Portugal’s win was not ridiculous, it was a triumph of taste over trash. Get over it, you crass idiot. I wouldn’t even give you a pity look.
Poor LT United, they will no longer be the winners.
I like Lithuania. But I have two concerns about it: the first is that they copied the end of the song of the Spanish entry. The second is that a second half-crying voice and attitude at the end of the song will not have the same effect twice.
I don’t understand what they copied from Spain. I haven’t seen Spain using a bridge in any clips.
Im not referring to the bridge, but the husband appearing suddendly to hug her… Same end as Spain,
But… but… Alfred is always next to her… how is this a sudden appearing?? And hugging is normal to these types of songs.
Kyna, I have never seen it before … and if I don’t remember it’s not at least not common. And this year two. This is not going to benefit any of them thanks to Levas artistic delegatiom.
it *could* give off a feeling similar to Spain, but it was completely unintended and these two are completely different ballads, both simple and sentimental, both completely distinct.
Agree Justina. The Lithuanian artistic delegation has tried to give off a similar effect, but in fact copying the same procedure Spain has since months ago in its performance. Nothing against it really, but this will not benefit any of them…. especially performing so close.
lol you’re reading way too much into this. Lithuania had that ending for months too. But it doesn’t even matter because there is no similarities whatsoever. In spanish song there’s only two people singing a love song, all love duets look like that, there is no special ‘choreography’. These songs are only similar in genre and theme. And people who are going to vote for one of them are likely to vote for the other as well. It doesn’t hurt anybody’s chances. Comparing these two is stupid. There are a lot of songs in ESC that share similar sounds and… Read more »
Actually, Ieva was doing that back in January so I do not know who did it first.
Funny thing – throughout national qualifiers everybody was divided whether she is getting votes for naturality or of pity – now I see this discussion elevated to European level. So, some achievement.
Not many people will agree with me, but it’s an open contest and I think Spain can win.
Not when Spain’s performance is whack version of Lithuania’s. Spain will be bottom 5 again.
You dont know if spain will win or be bottom 5, i personally want spain to win, and i also think theyre gonna win
They are not gonna win, they will end bottom 5, deal with it.
You again trolling about Spain! Everywhere! In every single comment. Listen Polegend. I love Lithuania. But they song is in English and they copied the end of the performance from the Spanish entry. I still like it though and I wish them luck. But you are always so destructive in your comments that I really hope Spain wins and you can swallow the poison you try to spread about it. To e everyone else…. sorry to be rude…. can I just once?
Is it just me or the Spanish fans are always build crazy expectations, regardless the song they send, trolling rudely all the year’s top favourites and end up in the bottom at the end? It seems like it happens every year. If Spain will be above the 15th place it will be a hell of an achievement for you guys. Your song is FAR from amazing. Everybody is fainting of excitement about the fact that they are a couple. OH WOW, a man and a woman are a couple? A couple that sing a love ballad? MIND BLOWING!!
Im not spanish im danish, everyone said greece was gonna win and they didnt even qualify, so i do still think that its gonna win
Absolutely agree with you Danny, Ireland and Lithuania have FAR BETTER ENTRIES than Spain. How innovative… I predict right side of the scoreboard.
Spain is a billiones times better than lithuania and irrland
It’s just a matter of tastes. I really value a song in their own language. I like the three of them. But Spain has been brave to share their language with us.
I agree with everything you say, spanish fans always create hype aroud their entries. I am not from Spain, but I really like their 2018 entry.
Well Danny, Spanish fans are very proud of their entry and their performers and in fact, they have been quite respectful this year. Most dont even care if this wins in ESC. Songs are hyped and people just follow: it was initially in the top 5 and then started falling following the hypes promoted by the press and ESC sites like this one. In terms of musical quality, the song is a great achievement (ask any musical expert)… much more than all the favs, which follow regular pop and upbeat patterns. Anyway, like it or not, it’s perfect we can… Read more »
The only good Spanish entry was Pastora Soler. That song was amazing. This year it’s just meh.
i was excited to see foureira’s performance, but im kinda disappointed, her perfomance doesnt offer anything new. this isnt winner material and the song isnt that good either. I am still rooting for netta after all
If a cr@zy Baltic b!tch singing obsessively about getting old with her man is not a warning sign that she is a total nutcase, I don’t know what is. Her husband should run away – far. Imagine if he cheats on her, what she would do when all she talks about is spending 24/7 with him. Cr@zy for his love!!! Mental cr@zy b!tch at a whole new level!!! Point. Blank.
ieva is what almaia would like to be, she managed to make people emotional without looking cheesy or forced
Amaia is normal unlike her. That b!tch needs to get f**ked by her husband more!
Only totally crazy person can make comments like this. That’s why anything you say can’t be taken seriously. Go away, you sad sad human.
You’re so frustrated that she delivered what spanish couplah fails 🙂
Do you know Spain’s entry is Levas favourite? Leave Amaia alone, she is an adorable human being. Do you know she went to hug some of the non-qualified last night?
Woow! Are you a Lithuanian trying to wake up sympathy for Lithuania with an inverse strategy? Because I don’t understand how someone can be so rude.. .
Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if Lithuania placed in the Top 3, since the contest is SO open for anyone now.. I don’t think Eleni will end up in the top 5, but she will be in the top 10 for sure. I think Ukraine or Sweden might take the crown. As much as I don’t want to say this, I think Lithuania will be out of the Top 5 of the betting odds after the second semi-final sadly 🙁
Yessss Cyprus will take the eurovision crown definitely, there are definitely deserving songs, Estonia, Czech Republic, Sweden, etc, but I guarantee Cyprus will take the crown, please everyone vote Cyprus on Saturday, after 37 years we deserve to win, all of Cyprus needs your votes
But except the staging, it isn’t very good. I’m going for Albania or Ireland!
Ezza, you like pop upbeat songs dont you!? Hehe I personally value other indicators in a song: lyrics, composition, voice….. In any style.
i not vote for a crappy song
Is anyone surprised Israel is losing out with bookies? The song is already worn out – and the staging close to a total fiasco. To me it wasn’t music in the first place!
It’s just what I thought would happen: Netta’s hype peaked way too early (much like Francesco last year). I still don’t know why Norway is so high (aside from the fact that it’s the artist’s ESC reputation and not his song, which is terrible), but I’m still glad France is in with a chance
I found the performance great, it still looks like a winner to me but it appears that Cyprus outsold.
It’s absolutely hilarious how Netta’s haters were screaming that the odds don’t mean anything when she was no 1 for 2 months but now suddenly the odds are relevant and important when she falls from 1st spot. You people are ridiculous.
Get back in your chicken coop
Wouldn’t it be amazing if Lithuania actually won the whole thing in a close race? Probably not happening but would be a pleasant surprise!
Out of top-5 I can see France winning. Cyprus is for me Russia-2016 all over again: I simply don’t get it and don’t get why people like it so much. It’s a well-executed performance but the song itself… oh, well
Lithuania just melted my heart. I hope they achieve their best result ever.
She’s Top 5.
What is the hype around Cyprus? Don’t get it. It’s a standard Latin pop dance entry, slighty outdated. Not bad but not very good either.
Are the juries included in odds polls too? Cause I can’t see them giving highest remarks for this
totally agree with you! it’s not spectacular and her vocals are not on point! This is a Eurovisiong SONG Contest after all. She kills it on the dance though.
it’s not Latin, it’s more Greek with Sirtaki elements. check out Greece 2012, Greece 2005, this is their typical music style. Eleni grew up in Greece after all. some people even compared it with Helena Paparizou – Mambo.
odd ahahhahahaha thanks
I betted yesterday 1000 euros for albania goes into the finals and I won 7500
This year has surprised us so much and so far we’ve only seen the first semi. I wouldn’t be surprised if Israel, Cyprus, and a shock qualifier end up fighting for first place.
Is really bad for countries that are below Moldova, a country that hasn’t performed yet, and that will grow.
Moldova is a horrible act from the 80s, I actually hope it will stay in the semi, together with Rybak’s promo for his upcoming children musical (he is actually working on one).
This is the work of the devil, don’t make me like Moldova
The big 5 are always at disadvantage in the odds (I repeat, in the odds). Semifinal hypes harm them and in some of these countries betting in ESC is not allowed.
By the way, wiwibloggs – google trands thinks different from the odds:
israel is more trading worldwide than cyprus and estonia on the last 24 hours.
https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=now%201-d&q=eurovision%20israel,eurovision%20cyprus,eurovision%20estonia
If you search as “Eleni Foureira” instead of Eurovision Cyprus, you will see the real search results, in which it multiplies Netta or Eurovision Israel searches.
Netta has won the internet no matter what, she’s just giving something different rather than another dancing model with a template of a pop song or YET ANOTHER soft ballad about love love love.
Thank you, that was a message from our Jerusalem correspondent
1.Bulgaria my winner yesterday
2.Israel live was not perfect but i still love it
3.Estonia just perfect
4.Cyprus she was great yesterday
5.Finland she sing very clear and i was suprise becuse i prefer live version :0
This was 5 best songs
And i really dont understand why CZech rep and Ireland goes to the final. This 2 song for me was afull sorry.
Lithuania dont go to top 10 i am sure maybe 15-25 places….
I’m seriously considering putting 2,000 € on San Marino for victory. If they win, I’ll be a millionaire by Saturday. If they don’t, I probably won’t be charged anyway because everybody will believe me if I say I was totally out of my freaking mind when I placed that bet.
You made my day :)))
I just wonder if Sweden will get a great running order anagin in the final, just like they did last year. And of course they are in an easier semifinal, near the end, with other nordic countries who can block vote for them. Nepotism much mr Ola?
Netta’s performance was way better than in the rehearsal videos, but she messed up the “Wonder Woman don’t you ever forget/You’re divine and he’s about to regret” lines which took quite a lot of the song’s drive/dynamic in the first half.
That’s funny how she nails the difficult high notes avery time but struggles with the soft part, that’s the nerves. But I think she will be better in the final, qualification gives artists extra confidence and she’s not the no1 favourite anymore, so she can actually focus on doing her best rather than carry all those mad expectations on her shoulders. Now cyprus will perform under pressure, we’ll see how she does.
Eleni from Cyprus is great but we already have
Beyonce.. What we dont have is anyone like
Netta!!!!
We have mortadella
Ok, either Cyprus or Estonia will win. Tbh, I would be happy with both of them, as long as Ireland doesn’t win.
Thanks from Ireland 🙂
I think lithuania could get their best ever place (current best is 6th). We will find out on friday if lithuania is drawn between the 9th-13th spot in the first half that means that She came top 3 in her semi. I think this could easily win the jury vote and the diaspora is super strong with Ireland , Uk, Norway, Georgia, Latvia,Estonia, Poland, Belarus
I just don’t get it… Lithuania and Norway in the top 5! For me, these songs are awful! And Cyprus number 1! The song is just OK. I would love to see Cyprus winning soon, but pretending that this song is the best song that over 800 millions of Europeans can compose is just awkward.
Would prefer to have Bulgaria, Austria, Albania or Estonia winning this year.
If Lithuania or Norway wins for me it will replace Running Scared as the worst winner of all times
Israel is still in it! 🙂
you saying that israels song is men hating means that you didnt understand anything from it….
Lithuania certainly deserve a top 5 placing. Such a beautifully staged tender song. As much as i L O V E Netta and Toy, the song does not come across great as live, possibly because the music video is now so iconic and I hate to call the semi 1 performance a mess, but it was. – Don’t get me wrong, this song will be bigger than Gangnam style honey but I can’t see her winning with this staging and delivery. The final is wide open. top votes are going to be spit all over the shop and it will… Read more »
There really is no clear winner this year, wow!
I just love ESC 2018 so much and I knew it would be one of the best!
If not the best as well*
Watch Rybak winning with a 200 pts margin lol
