It’s just a few hours until Semi-Final 2 of Eurovision 2018 airs worldwide. Eighteen countries competed in last night’s jury show, where they are judged by a panel of musical experts from this semi’s competing countries. The juries also include Italy, France and Germany, the big five countries assigned to this semi-final.

Wiwibloggers Chris, Deban, Padraig and William watched the dress rehearsal beforehand live inside the press centre and arena. Unfortunately, our Wiwi Jam party took place at the same time as the jury show! After watching the dress rehearsal, they awarded their 8, 10 and 12 points. You can see all of our comments and thoughts in the video above!

Who were your favourites? Who do you think will be top of the pile on Thursday evening?

Impressive performance from Hungary last night.

Personally, I considered them the winner of that semi.

I also like Ukraine. I am just having difficulty (again) with his enunciation.

Norway was quite underwhelming. Russia left me speechless in a bad way.

Very tired watching Eurovision at midnight in China. But it was worthwhile because my favourite Slovenia, Ukraine and Sweden are all qualified?

I think Hungary stole the show tonight. If they draw 2nd half they might be closing the show. I wouldn’t be surprised if by tomorrow they enter a top 5. I got no winner vibes from any other song. I thought Australia would fail to go through. She had energy but her vocals were not that strong and her moves were a little awkward. Serbia and Slovenia were better than I expected. France singing last year’s winning song was beautiful. She has such a clear voice. Watching Italy at the recap of the big 5, I thought this might be… Read more »

I would just like to say that despite the tight budget, Portugal is putting a lot of thought and heart into this Eurovision. Lots of people complaining about the cheapness, but this is set to be one of the most beautiful Eurovisions ever. The last image of Yulia seeing the sea for the first time almost brought tears to my eyes.

So I voted 2 times Russia- poor lamb, 3 times Moldova, 2 for Norway, as a promise and the 13 left Hungary, number 13!

This semi final seems to be the weaker one.

Thank God Norway has fallen way down in 5th in the odds, with potential to fall even further. It’s a battle between Eleni and Netta I think, it’ll be an exciting final!

I don’t think Ieva can compete. It’s turn for an uptempto song to win, either Cyprus or Israel will be a deserved winner.

Just listened first 6 songs of 2nd semi final. If none of them qualify for final, I would be ok with that. No loss.

Ok…only Sweden killed it and that catchy doors number is good…everyone else should have been taken from 1st semis

It depends on what they present on stage, but before show it would be Ukraine, Hungary and Denmark. Would like Montenegro and Slovenia in the final too! Best of luck everyone. Wishing Russia the best, but the song is so no competitive although the singer is a sweetheart

I don’t always agree with William, but I ALWAYS enjoy his enthusiasm and his commentary! My top picks for tonight are Norway, Poland, Australia, and Ukraine!!!! I can’t wait to watch the show. Tuesday was amazing and the graphic packaging this year is so good.

Hungary! Oh my god, they were soooo good. If they don’t qualify I’d be so freaking shocked… My favourites are Hungary and Denmark. I also want Montenegro, Ukraine, the Netherlands, Norway, Moldova and Sweden to qualify. I hope Russia won’t make it… Yes, they always did but this year Russia doesn’t deserve it at all imo.

I just hope Hungary, Denmark and Montenegro qualify. The other seven could literally be anyone and I’d be happy if these three are in. But, just for the record, my other seven qualifiers are (alphabetically) – Latvia, Malta, Moldova, Norway, Poland, Serbia and Ukraine. Netherlands and Georgia used to be too, but as Malta and Ukraine grew on me, these are out. I hope for the great show.

Right now I would say 9 are a safe bet with Norway, Sweden, Hungary, Denmark, Ukraine, Poland, Australia, Moldova and the Netherlands through. Then for me, it is a toss-up between Malta, Slovenia and Romania

I was at the rehearsal today. Australia got the biggest cheer and her vocals were flawless.

It was the loud cheer that made it “seem” her vocald were flawless. If you actually listen to her voice, not so great. But the effect the aussie cheer camp left by cheering and singing, made it seem more powerful.
