He may not have secured Sweden’s seventh victory at the Eurovision Song Contest this year, but Benjamin Ingrosso still has his eyes set on global stardom. And over the past two weeks he’s been busy working toward that — wrapping up his new album and treating fans to another music video for “Dance You Off”.
Mr Ingrosso is moving on from Eurovision — and from his official music video from the contest. In its wake comes a remake that incorporates his Melodifestivalen choreography and jacket, but moves in a decidedly sultrier direction.
We see Benjamin alone in an empty industrial building, with flashing lights, smoke, and even more hip action. It’s steamier, but never sleazy, and conveys Benjamin’s undeniable spice and charisma. The goal of the video is to reach a new international audience and introduce them to the Swedish pop star. There’s definitely appeal to his sex appeal.
The audio mix, while not the newly released extended version, is still an upgrade from the previous video. It’s more polished and slick — which says a lot given how strong the original was to begin with.
His team spared no expense, hiring famed Swedish music video director Fredrik Boklund to helm the project. He has directed music videos for Alcazar, Mark Wahlberg, and and even AySel and Arash (Azerbaijan’s 2009 act with “Always”). He’s also done commercials for Pepsi and Panasonic in the Asian markets.
During his time in Lisbon, Benjamin revealed to us that his record company, TEN Music, recently struck a deal with UK record company Black Butter to get his music out in the European market. The singer is currently in Los Angeles finishing his first album which we can expect in September.

From BAD to WORSE !! C’mon Benjamin – doing exactly the same moves (the hand up, the neck, the falling jacket from shoulders) – as in MF and ESC. Looks so formulated and studied – NOT NATURAL !! If he would move naturally to the beat – it would be at least believable. The music is still mehh…. Why Swedes loves PLASTIC and still think it’s FANTASTIC? Europe don’t buy it anymore. Grow up Sweden.
I kinda wish they had gone in a little more of a “Footloose” direction with the video’s industrial setting.

Sure your country does great, because they send the same stuff every year. That’s why there is bitterness towards Sweden because they have become one of the least original countries in the contest. Countries that do try to be diverse every year like Georgia or Hungary for example may not have the best track records but at least they’re experimental

That is what I am talking about, it will work better outside of Eurovision, it is not typical ESC song. I love it also and I appreciate the retro vibe and the mood Benjamin is going for in this song.
I also think the tastes of the Eurovision audience change from year to year. Perhaps in a different year, it could have gotten the support of the televote.

I like the earlier music video better than this one. The new one cuts to a lot of scenes very quickly that it makes my head spin.
I don’t get why they ignore the fact that the public didn’t like his song at all… I mean, 23rd place in televoting is Sweden’s second-lowest score since their debut and it should be a red flag for Benjamin’s team
Because Europe and Eurovision don’t make whole world, that is all. He will be successful, trust me. This is one of the rare Swedish entries I actually liked and I know lot of people like me, votes doesn’t matter, he was killed by running order, and song is too basic for Eurovision, but apart from it, it is great pop song. He was still better than Robin and Frans, but he was so low, because this year was so competitive, UNLIKE previous two years. That is the whole story and point.

His song has over 16 million streams, so it is far from unsuccessul, most streamed esc song of this year so far! And he made this video in April, before the televote result, should he just jump of cliff now and stop to work and release songs and music videos at all?! Of course not. Life goes on and on. He has own quite big fandom made of girls and teenagers and that is one thing you have to deal with.

He made this video in April already! He is currently in LA, US making new album. He is moving, trust me, he has plans for everything, with his record labels.
Adding to this, there are hundreds and hundreds of singers recording albums in the US. Most go nowhere, or get very little airplay.
