Their Eurovision effort “Glorious” didn’t fare well in the competition. But euro-dance group Cascada — that’s German-British singer Natalie Horler and DJs Manuel Reuter and Yann Peifer — never looked back. Today they have released their new single “Back for Good“.

The new track is the group’s first release of 2018 — and we’re happy to have it. Their previous release “Playground”, which served as the official anthem for the IIHF Ice Hocky World Championship, came out more than a year ago. But the extended break simply means they can now deliver an extended banger.

new single out tomorrow….??? #backforgood #newsingle

The track fits easily into their repertoire. Combining house beats and tropical instrumentation, the song comes just in time for the peak of the summer season. In the unapologetic euro-dance number, front-woman Natalie makes it clear she doesn’t want her ex back.

“Do you think I’m taken in by your drivel?” she asks a man trying to sweet-talk her. “That one kiss can change the world? What you think about love gives me shivers, Boy, you’ve got your vision blurred!”

Thankfully she sees clearly and has to let one thing be known: “Don’t want you back for good!”

You can find the lyrics of the song below.

Cascada – Back for Good lyrics

Tried so hard

Everybody wants to know how I’m feelin’
Everybody’s dancing wrong
I am fed up wasting time just believing
I am good here on my own

And you don’t know what you’ve been missin’
I’m not your stupid love affair
So you shut up and start to listen
‘Cause I can feel it everywhere

Don’t want you back for good (tried so hard)
Don’t want you back for good
Don’t want you back for good (tried so hard)
Don’t want you back for good
Back, back for good
(Tried so hard)
(Tried so hard)

Do you think I’m taken in by your drivel?
That one kiss can change the world?
What you think about love gives me shivers
Boy, you’ve got your vision blurred

And you don’t know what you’ve been missin’
I’m not your stupid love affair
So you shut up and start to listen
‘Cause I can feel it everywhere

Don’t want you back for good (tried so hard)
Don’t want you back for good
Don’t want you back for good (tried so hard)
Don’t want you back for good
Back for good

Back for good (tried so hard)
Back for good (tried so hard)
Back, back for good

Don’t want you back for good (tried so hard)
Don’t want you back for good
Don’t want you back for good (tried so hard)
Don’t want you back for good
Back, back for good
Don’t want you back for good (tried so hard)
Don’t want you back for good
Don’t want you back for good (tried so hard)
Don’t want you back for good

She deserves a second chance in Eurovision, big time. Hopefully she’s in the National Final for Israel, or they internally select her for 2020.

@Cassidy: No, Cascada is a group of three, Natalie Horler and two men. Btw, Natalie married in 2011 and took the name of her husband, so “in real life” she is called Natalie Raffelberg. But as an artist you can call her Natalie Horler or simply say the group name Cascada 😀

Well, it’s just like any other Cascada song. It’s somehow catchy for an instant but at the same time, it’s easily forgettable. Actually, “Glorious” is my overall favourite Cascada song because it’s the only one that – at least to my perception – was written with an actual intent of making a lasting impression on an emotional level.

Most of their songs were covers anyway, so I’d rather say “recorded” than “written”.

As a huge Cascada fan, I have to agree that Back For Good is a bit forgettable, they didn’t even put the effort to promote. But I have to say, do not discredit Cascada by saying most of their songs are covers. Only their first 2 albums have pure covers, but also had originals between. So they have a lot of original songs too, it seems you don’t know about them. They have recorded AND written songs. In the end of day, Cascada is a dance music icon, not an one hit wonder and lasted longer than these Eurovision artists… Read more »
