He’s the gothic showman who represented Ukraine at 2018’s Eurovision Song Contest and helped to maintain his country’s perfect qualification record.
This week, Melovin has released his latest single, “That’s Your Role” and it has got Eurovision fans very excited. With a theatrical piano opening, Melovin creates drama and suspense with his new pop number. Mixing cabaret and radio pop, Melovin pulls off another catchy tune whilst adding to his growing pile of musical gems.
His enunciation has improved since “Under the Ladder”. However, the main strength of this track is its infectious melody. Speaking exclusively to wiwibloggs, Melovin explains:
“My era of the singing Dracula has passed. It’s time for fresh breath in both my music and my character. “That’s Your Role” is the answer to those who are trying to dictate their rules to us. Fortunately through music, the time to fight back has come, and we can live our lives the way we want. It’s your role, it’s your life and you can do whatever you want with it. That’s my message.”
Melovin is currently shooting the music video for “That’s Your Role”. Given the fact that he won our poll for Best Postcard and Best Music Video, fans can be sure that the video for this single will offer a visual treat.
The cover art for the single shows Melovin without his trademark novelty contact lens, suggesting he may have a new look in the work, moving on from his classic porcelain vampire style.

I am surprised there’s such a positive vibe in this comment section. People tend to be negative towards Mélovin and just artists in general who tend to stand out and have a unique styles. I admire Mélovin as a person so much and this new song of his just reminded me of how much I admire his musical skills as well. TYR is simply a bop and a song you’re not able to listen to without moving a body part or two.
