Earlier this week the organisers of Eurovision in Concert 2019 revealed next year’s show will take place on 6 April. And today they gifted fans with even more news, revealing that they’ll return to AFAS Live for the second year running.
Last year organisers celebrated their 10th anniversary with their biggest-ever event held inside the stunning arena.
The venue is part of a cluster of entertainment venues, resting near Johan Cruijf Arena — the country’s biggest football stadium — and the major pop arena Ziggo Dome. You may not be able to snap your fancy canal photos at night, as you could at the former venue Melkweg, but you will enjoy ease of transport, as the Bijlmer-Arena train station is directly next to the venue.
AFAS Live can hold up to 6,000 people and it looks fab on camera. You’ll remember that Junior Eurovision 2012 was held in the venue, which was then known as the Heineken Music Hall.
During last year’s concert, there was a lovely effect whereby you could see live images of the audience dancing along to the acts on the giant screen behind them. This was interspersed with live footage of the artist from different angles.
Organisers also took the occasion to reveal a brand new logo.
The Eurovision in Concert font and script rests at the centre of a pink orb with a series of gold and white cricles spiralling outward.
In our mind in conjures up the sun melded with a disco ball — a perfect emblem as we head to the warm climes of Israel to par-tay in 2019.
The most recent edition of the event saw 32 acts from Eurovision 2018 performing their tracks live in front of thousands of screaming Eurovision fans.
It was a thrilling evening that offered several acts their first chance to perform live in front of an Eurovision audience since being selected.
Among them was Ukraine’s Melovin who won over plenty of new fans with a strong performance in a loose-fitting red blazer that captured his avant-garde vampish style.

That’s right! Sometimes I’ll invite a non eurovision friend to a eurovision event but l let them know right away l won’t be talking to them or paying any attention to them unless it’s a song l don’t like
