His career has gone from strength to strength following his appearance at Eurovision 2017, with new singles, high-profile public appearances and enduring devotion from his many international fans.

And today Austria’s Nathan Trent continues to slay his way through the international music scene with the release of his best — and definitely quirkiest — music video yet for the new song “Killer”.

Taking a break from the tropical feel of “Good Vibes” and the chirpy sound of “Running on Air”, Nathan dives into pop-rock territory that has us thinking of Maroon 5.

In the song Nathan clearly understands that his lady is bad news. As he sings: “Bittersweet the taste of her tongue, seems as if she’s moving along. No I should have known better.”

Yet he lets her take his heart and soul anyway.  In this light it’s a wake up call to break free from manipulation and the feeling of imprisonment within a relationship…or basically you’ll die.

Nathan Trent — “Killer” music video

Nathan composed the song himself and penned the track’s lyrics too, while Bernhard Penzias assumed music production. Kimberly Rydell directed the music video. And she did a mighty fine job. Filmed in black and white, it shows Nathan suffering in a variety of situations — sometimes bound, sometimes gagged, and frequently invoking film noir. Girl ain’t just a killer — she’s psycho!

A quick scan of social media reveals plenty of positive reviews of his track. Youtube user CheapAbyss has drawn an interesting narrative on how this track fits into his recent work. “So basically: Good Vibes — they met, Secrets — they’re dating, Killer — they had a fight?”

Nathan represented Austria at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017, in Kyiv with the song “Running on Air” finishing in 16th place. Unlike so many Eurovision artists who disappear from the scene shortly after the contest, Nathan has managed to keep the momentum going. His vocals are unmistakably flawless and full of life and we know his big break is right around the corner.

What  do you think of  “Killer”? Are you feeling his charisma and charm again as much as we are? Let us — and Nathan — know in the comments box below.

Yes, i know about this video it is horrible. But Very Interesting to see something darker after a few sunny gems.

Best original song from him since Walking on air, but still not what will make him break through. His cover of Stargazing remains his best so far.

I thought it would be so serious… until we reached the final chorus…

If he has another feel-good song like “Walking On Air”, I’d welcome it. Maybe next time he’ll get some love from the audience and viewing public (16th overall in 2017 with ZERO televote points).

He may have found his niche.

‘Secrets’ was terrible, ‘Good Vibes’ was cheesy but fun if you’re in the right mood, ‘Walking on Air’ was just joy-filled loveliness.

But his acoustic covers still remain his best.

I’m sorry to say this, but this sounds like a Maroon 5 wannabe.
