They are the love story of last year’s Operación Trifuno. Recently, Amaia joined global supergroup U2 during their show in Madrid. And a few days ago, she joined her Eurovision sweetheart Alfred to perform an impressive rendition of M Clan’s iconic 2004 single “Miedo“.
The two reunited on stage during Alfred’s set at Festa Major del Prat. He was one of the headline acts at the festival held in his hometown.
The original version of “Miedo” from M Clan has become one of the most iconic Spanish rock songs of recent years. Translated to “Fear”, the track is an emotional look at the end of a relationship. Alfred started performing the song with the support of the audience before bringing Almaia on stage — and the crowd went wild!
Their chemistry shone throughout the entire performance. While Alfred delivered solid rock vocals, Amaia’s impressive voice took the song to another level. Adding to the magic of the performance, at the end, the stage was showered with confetti. Alfred and Amaia hugged and shared a little kiss to give a romantic finish to an unforgettable night.
Alfred also showed his love for the performance on Instagram, using lyrics from the original song by M Clan. “In this darkness, the clarity is you”, a sign that #Almaia is as strong as ever.
The song will already be familiar to OT fans. Amaia performed “Miedo” (“Fear”) during the final of OT 2017 earlier this year. Her stripped-down cover received wide acclaim and helped give her the edge over Aitana in the final vote.
The concert marked the final show in Alfred’s 1016 Is Coming Tour. Unlike other OT 2017 finalists, Alfred has not yet released any new solo music. Instead he has been touring with his band, honing his new songs, before he heads to the studio to record his debut album, tentatively titled 1016 after his OT audition number.
Alfred and Amaia’s Eurovision entry “Tu cancion” may not have fared well at the song contest, but the support for the two singers in their home nation continues to grow. Their live performances after OT keep impressing people left and right. And the recent duet is no exception. With a new album coming soon from Alfred, fans will get to hear even more of his pop-rock talent.

I feel like this kind of performance of lovers in heat might have gotten them farther in Eurovision.
Miedo was really a great song! I prefer it to their ESC-soing. But they looked lovely on stage. Very nice romantic perfromance!
