She’s the Estonian star who has featured in the country’s Eurovision selection four times — making the Eesti Laul final on two occasions.
And earlier tonight Liis Lemsalu reminded us that she’s a song contest fantatic when she impersonated 2018 runner-up Eleni Foureira on Su nägu kõlab tuttavalt — the Estonian version of “Your Face Sounds Familiar”.
Liis — whose delicate voice has won her countless fans at home and abroad — took a dive into the Mediterranean by tackling one of the most talked-about songs of the year.
Visually she already had Eleni’s endlessly lithe legs and washboard stomach.
But she upped her visual likeness by slipping into a pair of skin-tight sequinned trousers that mimicked fire with their gold and red hues.
Literally on point in a pair of sky-high heels, she paired her trousers with a sequinned top that exposed her midriff and topped off the look with Eleni’s signature black demi-jacket.
And while her brunette tresses matched Eleni for their length, Liis could have gone for a stronger crimper. Her hair didn’t really match Eleni for texture. What’s a glamourpuss to do?!
In any event, the choreography was generally passable.
She really nailed the booty touches and the various segments where she had to throw her hair to the floor and back it up.
As an added bonus her background screen featured Eleni’s notoriously hard-to-nail flames. Thankfully for Liis her flames were rather large — we’re talking mega-kerosene, extra-large font flame emojis — so it would have been difficult to miss!
Marta Laan tackles Netta’s “Toy”
Liis’ performance comes just a week after Estonian stage, television and film actress Marta Laan did her best to conjure up Netta Barzilai with “Toy”. From the Japanese kimono top to the Princess Leia hair buns, her attention to detail was impeccable.
