In 2014, she finished second in Dansk Melodi Grand Prix with her song “Wanna Be Loved”. But unfortunately for Natascha Bessez, her 2018 audition for The Voice of Holland was rather less successful.
Performing “Finesse” by Bruno Mars and Cardi B, the singer hoped to turn the four chairs on the popular Dutch singing show. Rapper Lil’ Kleine was the only one who believed in Natascha and turned for her, making her part of his team.
The other judges were not very enthusiastic — most especially Anouk, who is known for being quite harsh on the contestants. In fact, she previously sent two of her own acts home after saying they simply weren’t good enough. Anouk told Natascha:
“I didn’t turn. You look amazing. The thing I liked about your performance, I didn’t see it, but there was a lot of energy there, so that’s good. The rest was not so good.”
The judges also mocked her bad Dutch, as she only recently started to learn the language. She had come to the Netherlands to live with her Dutch boyfriend, who she met on the New York metro.
After she had left the stage, Anouk voiced her major dislike for the performance, saying: “Did she come all the way from New York for this misery? Really? She flew this long haul to just torture us?”
Waylon, who also disliked the performance, jokingly added: “We gave them Glennis Grace, but they give us this?”
Their comments were both loved and hated by TVOH fans, with some people on Twitter loving Anouk’s outspokenness. But the top comments under Natascha’s audition on YouTube suggest that a lot of people thought that the comments went too far.

They really should not have mocked her for her Dutch skills, the fact that she’s trying is really great.
Anouk may be a great musician but she has a history of saying awful things about people so this really didn’t surprise me . Music aside I think she’s genuinely just a terrible person
Stopped watching the Voice quite a while back, when they didn’t bash contestants about their nationality & the way they speak. The Voice of Holland stopped being good after 2/3 seasons, now it’s more like a reality-tv drama show. :/

It’s so much easier to be mean than to be helpful, but that’s part of this kind of entertainment, I guess.
