It’s the reality TV franchise that gave Melodifestivalen Lisa Ajax, Liamoo and more.

And now Melodifestivalen is giving back to Idol.

Four former contestants will appear on Friday night’s episode of this year’s series to duet with finalists on contemporary pop songs.

Melfest winner Benjamin Ingrosso, Melfest 2018 runner-up Felix Sandman and two-time top-five finalist Wiktoria will all take to the stage.

Mariette, who rose to fame through Idol, will also duet with one of the finalists on the show.

The fantastic four will be joined by Idol alum Hannah Ferm and Norwegian popstar Astrid S.

Idol duets with Melodifestivalen stars

The Melfest stars will lend their voices to a variety of songs.

Felix Sandman will duet with Kadiatou on “Hurt Somebody”, originally performed by Noah Kahan and Julia Michaels. The upbeat track will be close to the sound of several tracks from Felix’s top three LP Emotions.

Wiktoria on the other hand will cover a Sam Smith ballad with William Strid. The pair will sing the Mary J. Blige remix of “Stay With Me”. On her Instagram page, Wiktoria told her 63k fans to get excited for a “power duo”. The track will be a change from her two upbeat country-pop Melodifestivalen entries.

Next up Melodifestivalen 2018 winner Benjamin Ingrosso will split singing duties on “Sugar” by Maroon 5 with Nathalie. Meanwhile Mariette will cover “Shallow”, originally performed by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, with William Segerdahl.

Hitmaker Astrid S will sing Jess Glynne’s “I’ll Be There” with Sebastian and Hanna Ferm will sing “Up Where We Belong” with Bragi.

The performances will air on TV4 on Friday night at 20:00 CET.

It won’t be the first time Felix and Benjamin have appeared on Idol this year though. The duo stopped by in October to perform their platinum-selling single “Tror du att han bryr sig”:

Could this be a strong hint that Hannah, Astrid and Wiktoria are in Melfest next year??
