She’s the only original member of girl-group Serebro from Eurovision 2007 left. But in October Olga Seryabkina announced she would finally be leaving the group in 2019 after 12 years of involvement in order to focus on her solo career under the name MOLLY.
No, the name is not a bid to become the newest member of Swedish girl-group Dolly Style (although we think a Serebro-Dolly Style collaboration would be fierce). Indeed, the Russian star has been performing solo as MOLLY since 2014, even while still a part of Serebro.
Her biggest hit to date has been 2017’s “Если ты меня не любишь” (“If you don’t love me”) with rapper Egor Kreed, which hit #6 on the Russian charts.
However, 2018 has seen her continuing to build-up a back catalogue of solo material. Following the release of “Backfire” with fellow Russian singer Maksim Svoboda, MOLLY gave us “Under My Skin”, which has a chorus that’s perfect for getting you on the dance floor.

Showing her versatility, the rest of her 2018 releases have been in Russian. “Рассыпая серебро” (“Scattering silver”) featured vocals from her manager Maxim Fadeev.
Meanwhile, her latest release from the start of December is “Потому что любовь” (“Because love”). Very similar in style to some of the music she’s produced as part of Serebro, you can tell just how influential Olga has been in writing and contributing to her, soon to be former, group. Lyrically, the song sees MOLLY crooning over someone who isn’t reciprocating her feelings: “Why not with me? / Why are you into others? / Pretend you’re drowning / All because, all because love”.
Unfortunately, none of these latest singles have made much impact on the Russian music market. But perhaps this is not surprising. With the majority of her focus on Serebro she hasn’t had much time to properly find herself as a solo artist and work out what musical path she wants to take.
No doubt that once Olga has moved on from Serebro and fully embraced ‘MOLLY’, she’ll be on top form. And we can’t wait to hear what amazing tunes she has in store for us.

It was May 2007, and a three-piece girl-group got onto stage at the Hartwall Arena in Helsinki, Finland, to represent Russia with the entry “Song #1”.
Coming in third place, the trio would find themselves climbing to the top of the Russian music charts and gaining a swathe of new fans from across Europe and the world. Comprised of Marina Lizorkina, Elena Temnikova and Olga Seryabkina, Serebro was officially born.

Since then, the girl-group has gone through numerous line-up changes, with original members Marina and Elena leaving in 2009 and 2014 respectively. Five other girls have also been a part of the group over the past 11 years.
But throughout all of this, one thing remained constant. Olga became the face of the group, naturally taking the lead in both the vocals and music videos due to her longstanding commitment.
However, on the 9th October, the Russian singer announced on Instagram that she would be leaving the group in 2019.
I didn’t sleep all night. Made this video failed to upload. Do not know how to write that sentence, but… I decided that is very important to me. I’M LEAVING SEREBRO. To say now that I feel is very difficult […] SEREBRO – such a huge story. It raises your music, makes you to rejoice and to cry. It will never end, I know. I want you to continue to love them no matter what, because each of us – of ALL, loves you most with passionate love. […] I write all this, although we still have a lot of gigs TOGETHER IN THIS format WE WILL be UNTIL 2019.
Whilst losing the final original member may be a big blow to the group, things got worse at the end of November when it was announced on Instagram that the entire current line-up would be disbanding. Along with Olga, present members Katya Kischuk and Tatiana Morgunova will also be leaving in February 2019 to pursue solo careers.
Casting is currently underway to find their replacements and create an entire new line-up. Similarly to the last year’s casting for the groups eighth member, applications were taken via Instagram. These have now been whittled down to thirty artists, and you can currently vote here for your favourites until the 12th December, when they’ll be reduced to 15.
For now though, Olga’s involvement in creating new material for Serebro will continue alongside her solo project MOLLY.

Olga en solo donc Molly ne me séduit pas du tout , elle me déçoit car trop vulgaire . Et puis je vais beaucoup sur des sites Russes et il y a beaucoup d’extraordinaires groupes pop-rock que j’ai découvert . Entre-autres j’aime particulièrement FABRIKABAND avec Alexandra – Irina – et surtout Sasha POPOVA que je trouve d’une tres grande classe . Il y en a bien d’autres dont je n’ai malheureusement pas le nom car en cyrillique mais que j’écoute avec énormément de plaisir . Alors VIVE LA RUSSIE …………..
that stinks, that their breaking up and going on their own way. Was a huge fan of the group,had great songs that I like and had enjoyed listening to.Can’t say much of others that i really don’t like cause their musicians at there that has not much singing abilities .

Downhill it goes, just like it’s been with VIA GRA reboot. Anyways, they’ve been on a good hit streak for a decade, the last brightest pop group there song-wise.
The article is well written 🙂 But if she would decide to go to Eurovision solo one day, maybe not as “MOLLY”. Because then Eurovision fans immediately think about “MOLLY” Smitten-Downs (UK 2014 “Children Of The Universe”). A different stage name would be better for Eurovision…
And Ireland had a Molly too, the following year. It was used as a pet name for Mary in the middle ages. Bear with me, I’m writing Tudor’s and got the reference for the novel.
You forgot one important piece of information – Katya and Tanya are leaving Serebro too and there is casting for all new 3 members and not only to find replacement for Olga
